Chapter 132

Chapter 132
Edna

Days passed by in a jiffy. After handing Madam Tayo and Mr Blake over to Killian for judgment, I did not hear anything about them again.

Fortunately, I wasn't really concerned about them in the first place.

My mind strayed to an important piece of the puzzle that I forgot.

I was in Killian's study. He was here with me. He was working on some paperwork and I was just lounging by the huge bay window.

Due to the long separation between Killian and I, we loved to stick together these past few days.

Most of our time was spent in each other's presence.

I didn't feel tired of seeing him at all and from Killian's glowing eyes, the same could be said for him too.

The issue I have forgotten was the fact that I was a human.

The newly acquired superpowers I had couldn't change that fact.

I was worried.

Tekita and Maol was still out there. Those people will surely not let the human gold mine that appeared go.

Besides, I could see that the human government was impatient. The government is itching to find a place to settle. I don't want them to do something wrong or rash in their haste.

Killian was willing to do anything for me but I wouldn't want to force him to do anything he was originally against.

If Killian decides that humans have no place in this planet, I would follow his decision. I would not try to use the love he had for me to forcefully change that decision.

Humans are complicated and the race as a whole was mostly prone to bad things and thoughts.

Although the aliens in this planet were almost similar to humans in that regard, the two races were inherently different and the public response to both their behaviors would be different also.

This wasn't humankind's original planet. We would have to go through twice as much scrutiny for every mistake.

Even something that wasn't a mistake could get criticized and judged.

Using my case as an example. Most people in this planet wouldn't want me to be Killian's Queen. Our decision to marry each other wouldn't change because of public disapproval. Still, it left a bad taste in my mouth.

The original exploration team was still scattered all over. I don't know where those members were.

One part of me wanted to gather them. The other part wanted to wait and see how things go.

I didn't forget the fact about one of us betraying the rest.

I knew what the human government was capable of thinking. Although I didn't really fear them anymore since I wasn't on their spaceship, I still wanted to avoid any confrontation if I could.

That was why I haven't discussed the spaceship hanging above this planet with Killian.

I don't know if the spaceship had sent other exploration teams down to this planet. I hope more teams weren't dispatched. If humankind sends more exploration teams, those people would be lucky to evade Tekita and Maol’s surveillance.

Everything was just so overwhelming and messy.

I wanted to just live with Killian in our little bubble. The outside was can be stimulating at times.

“Heartbeat, what are you thinking about? You didn't even notice me staring at you for over 30 minutes." Killian's lovely voice jolted me out of my thoughts.

My lips curved upwards into a ghostly smile, “I am just thinking of my people.”

“Maol talked about this when he brought you to the palace and I have done my investigation too. What are you worried about? Do you want your people to settle down here?" Killian asked, "If that is what you want, it is not impossible to fulfill your request."

I sighed, "My dear, don't do that yet. Let's wait. Humans can be an handful most times. I don't want you to go against or override your original decision for me.”

"Whatever you want is my original decision. Don't worry about me." Killian responded, "Humans are basically like the rest of my people. My people are an handful too.”

“I don't really want to see any other humans being slaves. I have not checked up on the ones that came into this planet with me. I don't know if you have a way to put Tekita in custody. It would be best to stop Maol from involving himself in any funny business related to my people too.” I sighed.

Like Tekita said before, the only law about slaves were only protecting the indigenous aliens living on this planet.

That kind of law cannot protect humans. The only exception to this case is if it was amended or if humans became citizens of this planet.

For now, Tekita and Maol haven't done anything that is legally wrong.

"I will find a way to keep those two in custody and I would make sure any other person isn't trying to make other humans slaves. I will also amend the law to reflect this change." Killian promised.

Moisture gathered in my eyes.

This man was just so superb. He was my very own superhero. I wouldn't give him up for anything.

I stood up from the place I was lounging on and rushed to where Killian sat. I threw myself into his embrace.

My hands tightened around his body.

My voice was choked, "Thank you so much. I can't thank you enough."

His arms wrapped around me tightly too.

"Heartbeat, I am just doing what I was supposed to do. Don't worry about you overriding my original decision. My original decision is to provide solutions to what would cause worry for you. Remember, if you want your people to settle down in this planet, they can. It's not like my people can fill every inch of this planet anyway." Killian said, "I am not going to rush you to make a decision. Just tell me what the decision is when you are ready so I would make arrangements."
