I looked at Killian with a question in my eyes.
"You are going to use this software to contact them. Their names are already on the app. Just click on the video call button or the voice call button, if that's what you prefer." Killian explained, "The people around your former exploration team members have a specialized phone that would receive your calls.”
After getting Killian's explanation, I started to explore the app's interface.
Trying to operate a new app was tasking amd exhilarating. Fortunately, the app's interface was easy to navigate.
After a short while, I finally got to the area that contained the names of the people I came to this planet with. The names were arranged in a vertical format.
The first person on the list was Yulia.
My hands tapped her name. Soon, a tab that housed different types of contact options popped up.
I picked the video call option.
The tablet started to ring. I held my breath as I waited for Yulia to pick up.
I didn't have to wait for too long. Soon, the person at the other end of the line picked up.
Yulia's stony face was the first thing I saw.
The way she was holding the phone was tricky. The only thing I could see was her face and a little section of her chest.
I couldn't get a glimpse of her surroundings. The place she was in was quiet.
She was cautious.
When Yulia's eyes captured my face, I could literally see her cold expression melting away.
"Edna." She called softly.
The way she spoke made it seem like she was afraid that a louder tone would make me disappear.
Warmth wrapped around my heart and a small smile graced my lips.
"Yulia." I responded.
Yulia said, "I never thought I would see you again after that auction. I was worried about where you might have ended up. I am so glad that you are okay now."
"I am glad you are fine too. I want apologize for not reaching out sooner. I didn't reach out for some reasons and some of those reasons are selfish." I said.
Yulia shook her head, "No worries. At least it all turned out good.”
I adjusted my position before looking back at the tablet.
Yulia's eyes fell on my torso and the small smile that was on her lips faded away.
"Is that an hospital gown? What is wrong? Are you okay? Are you safe?" Yulia's questions came like a tsunami.
I chuckled, "Don't worry, Yulia. I am fine. Something happened and I was an unfortunate victim of that thing. I wasn't the only person affected."
The worried expression on her face was wiped off by my words.
"Edna, are you in a good position now? Are you with someone that is not maltreating you or causing trouble for you in any way?" Yulia questioned.
Her words restored another part of my belief in humanity.
Happiness made the smile on my lips bigger, "Don't worry, I am in a good place and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Besides, these questions you asking me is what I intend to ask you. You were sold to an alien man, right?"
Yulia nodded, "Yes, I was sold to an alien man called Leevi Eskola. Regarding the rest of your questions, I am okay. Like you said, I don't want to be anywhere else.”
"Really?" I raised a brow, "I can remember you trying to spit in the direction of that man during the auction. So, the relationship between the two of you is so good now?"
