We got to Earth City at our fastest speed. We didn't stop there though. Killian picked a random direction to head to. The female assassin that confessed said the laboratory was a few miles away from Earth City.
From the hovercraft’s window, I spotted a large group of imperial guards near Earth City.
The imperial guards were holding complex weapons. Their faces were stern.
Amongst the imperial guards, a considerable number of guards had a red badge. These people with red badges looked like they were more dangerous than the others around them.
Killian started operating the band on his wrist.
Soon, half of the assembled imperial guards started following our moving hovercraft. All the guards with red badges were among those that followed.
Killian stopped focusing on his wristband. He pressed a switch on the hovercraft’s dashborad.
A heat map appeared on a small screen that was attached to the dashboard.
There was no need to capture a human or alien that would show us the way to the laboratory.
Since the people behind the assassins knew that someone has confessed, there would be a lot of activity near the laboratory.
They probably won't sit there like ducks.
We would be able to find the laboratory.
A bunch of red dots suddenly appeared on the dashboard’s screen. On the screen, our hovercraft was represented by a large blue dot with two red dots inside.
The imperial guards that was following behind us was represented by green dots.
The red dots that showed up appeared to be in the eastern side of the hovercraft.
Killian controlled the hovercraft. We stopped heading in our original direction.
The hovercraft sliced through the air as we headed towards the area that was suspected to be the laboratory.
Greenery started to appear as we moved towards our destination.
Soon, a building appeared. This building looked like a bungalow.
It didn't have any of the identifying qualities that a laboratory would have.
This strange appearance made me certain that this place was our destination.
The hovercraft stopped. Killian and I got out of the hovercraft.
The imperial guards that had been following us stopped a few distances away.
"Blow that house up." Killian commanded.
The imperial guards carried his instructions out. Five guards with badges took round silver balls from their pockets.
They tapped something on the ball before throwing it towards the building before us.
The five balls surrounding the house released a beeping sound. Finally, a blinding light was emitted from the five balls.
I closed my eyes subconsciously.
Killian's hand wrapped around my waist before bringing me closer to his body.
After waiting for some time to pass, I opened my eyes.
The bungalow before us was no more. Only ruins and rubbles remained.
“Were we too late? Have they gone back to Earth City?” I questioned.
Killian shook his head, “Since the heat map showed red dots, there is a high chance that they are here. Even if they aren't in this place and the red dots made a mistake, the imperial guards near Earth city would take action if something unusual happens. If we can't find those sinners here,we would head to Earth city.”
"Alright." I responded.
Suddenly, a rectangular piece of rubble moved. Everyone's gazes fell on the thing that moved.
Something under the rectangular piece of rubble pushed the rubble away. Other areas in the ruins of the building we destroyed moved too.
Before I could blink, a large group of people gathered on the ruins of the destroyed building.
I raised a brow. No wonder. The laboratory was underground.
