Chapter 137
Chapter 137
Edna
“Tyler, is that you?” My voice was shaky.
Although my eyes saw him, my brain refused to compute this information. Everything was looking like a dream.
If it was a dream, it was the kind of dream I didn't want to wake up from.
“Edna, it's me.” Tyler said.
My legs moved quickly and I went closer to Tyler.
My hand cupped his face. A chilly air surrounded him and the feeling my fingers transmitted to my brain was strange.
His body could be touched but he didn't feel like he was alive.
Tyler's fingers landed on mine. His cold body temperature made goosebumps rise on my hands.
“You don't need to doubt. I am your brother.” He said.
I cleared my throat.
“What is the name of our own planet? What separated us?” I asked in a choked tone.
Speaking was proving to be a hard task.
I didn't let that stop me from asking the questions I wanted answers to. Arcane things can be tricky. I want to be really sure that the person or spirit standing before me was my real brother.
Tyler chuckled, “I am grateful that you didn't forget the lessons our home planet cultivated in every human. Now, to answer your questions. Our home planet is called Earth. The reason we got separated was the fact that I was stabbed and it was too late to get treatment. The rush for people to get to the spaceship didn't help my matters either.”
The heart hanging in my throat finally fell back into place.
Every word that came out of Tyler's lips was the truth.
As Tyler spoke the last few words, his countenance changed for the worse.
A small smile bloomed on my lips, “I am so sorry for evoking bad memories. I just wanted to be sure.”
Tyler waved his hand, “You don't have to apologize to me. You are doing what needed to be done. Putting your safety first is the priority always.”
The smile on my lips became bigger, “Thank you for not taking offense.”
“You are welcome.” Tyler said before he started to observe where we are.
I give him ample time to take everything in.
“Wow, this place is huge. Where are we? How did you get here? I have missed a whole lot.” Tyler said.
I chuckled, “I am going to answer one question at a time.”
“Doesn’t matter, I can wait.” Tyler replied.
“You are right about missing a whole lot. You don't have to worry about what you missed though. Just know I found the love of my life and this is his home.” I replied.
Right now, I didn't want to tell my brother all the things I went through. In the future, I might change my mind.
I felt like doing so will just bring unnecessary heartache. This was the time to be happy. Tyler just came back. I didn't want to spoil anything with those experiences.
“Did I hear you correctly? You just said you found the love of your life, right? How? When? Why?” Tyler's eyes widened to their limits.
He looked comical.
“Calm down, champion. I don't know what you mean by why. I didn't complain when you decided to make Penelope your girlfriend.” I rolled my eyes.
The thought of Penelope combined with saying her name out loud made me roll my eyes again.
“I am sorry about that. I was just excited. Now, tell me all the details. Who is this man that stole my sister's heart? How does he look? This library is huge. I hope he is not involved in any illegal business?” Tyler questioned.
“You don't have to worry about this place. Killian is not involved in any illegal business.” I smiled, “At least, I can guarantee that.”
Tyler heaved a sigh of relief, “Better.”
“My new boyfriend is the King of this place.” I announced.
Tyler's mouth dropped open, “What did you just say?!”
