Chapter 138

Chapter 138

Edna

“I said my man is the king of this place.” I repeated.

I didn't want to tell Tyler some things I went to in the past few weeks but it seems I have no choice in this matter.

He needs some explanation or I would be bombarded by questions.

“I thought I was hallucinating the first time. How do this happen? Where did you two meet? Is he treating you well?” Tyler sent a torrent of questions towards me.

“Don't worry, you are not hallucinating. My words mean exactly what they are supposed to stand for. To answer the bazillion questions you have, we have to start from the beginning.” I began.

“I am all ears.” Tyler replied.

His eyes were still widened.

He looked like he was ready to shake the information he wanted out of me.

“Humans successfully boarded the huge battleship the government created as a last resort. We drifted in space for a while. Then, we discovered this planet.” I explained, “This planet was great. It fit all our bills and the people in charge of the human race refused to let this opportunity slip away. An exploration team was organized and I am part of that team.”

“What?!” Tyler's mouth dropped open, “Why will they send you, a civilian by the way, to explore a planet that humans know nothing about? That is recklessness. What are the military and other forces under the government doing? What if something has happened to you?”

Worry clouded his pupils.

I shrugged, “I had no choice but to follow instructions. I don't want to be abandoned in space with no means of survival. I don't know the reserves of energy the battleship has so I can't really judge the higher-ups for being adamant on exploring the planet we found.”

“They are lucky that you are fine right now. If something had happened to you, I would not let them go.” A flash of cruelty colored Tyler's pupils for a brief moment.

“You don't need to worry about that. I am fine and alive.” I said.

Tyler pinched the bridge of his nose, “Enough about the government. Continue your story.”

“One thing led to another and I was presented to Killian, my man as a tribute. Things went uphill from there.” I continued.

“A tribute?! Edna, what are you not telling me? I know I should give you space to tell me what you went through on your own terms. Still, I want to know what you experienced. Mom and Dad would have been so disappointed in me. I did a terrible job in taking care of you.” Tyler said.

I blinked slowly, “Stop talking like that. You died. There was nothing else you could do after that. Before that unfortunate incident, you have tried your very best for me and I appreciate you for that. We don't need to dwell in sad or bad memories.”

“From your words, this Killian guy is good. Still, I am worried.” Tyler sighed, “I don't like the power imbalance in your relationship. Power imbalance is never a good thing. If he behave badly, there will be no way for you to fight back or force him to be accountable.”

“Tyler, you are just overthinking. I know bystanders mostly see things as they are because they are not involved in the situation. My situation is different. I know Killian. I love him and the same could be said for him too. You don't have to worry about power imbalance.” I responded.

“That is not all though. He is an indigenous person of this planet and you are an human. I don't think you guys are the same race. Will his people accept you wholeheartedly?” Tyler continued.

I smiled, “I said you should stop worrying. Killian and I would be fine.”

“I hope so.” Tyler muttered.

I could understand this worries so I didn't say anything related to that topic anymore.

“Since we have cleared those topics, it is time to take you to see Killian.” I chuckled.
