After a while, the maid finally nodded. She started to tap on the wristband on her hand.
The wristband was almost transparent. After a few moments passed by, she looked up.
"It is done." She said, "They would be here soon. Can we find a way to treat your injury now? Your Highness would kill me if you knew I let you get injured."
I waved, "Don't worry, I am going to explain to him. Let's go."
Under the careful surveillance of the maid, I got my injury treated. My hand was wrapped with white bandages.
Although the doctor gave me a painkiller that would not have an effect on the recovery speed of my injury, I still felt a burning pain in that area.
Killian was currently in the study. He was working.
The maid and I went straight to the study after leaving the clinic that treated my injuries.
I pushed the study door and went inside. The maid that has been following me like a shadow didn't come into the study with me. She bowed her head a little before leaving.
I nodded in her direction. Then, I closed the door to the study.
I turned around to face Killian. Killian raised his head up.
"I knew it was you." He said with a smile.
As he spoke, he dropped the tablet in his hand.
I opened my mouth to reply.
His eyes fell on my hand that was wrapped with a bandage.
The easygoing gaze he had disappeared. He rose to his feet hurriedly.
His actions killed the words that were about to come out of my mouth.
"Edna, what happened to you? How did you get injured? Did someone overstep their boundary?" His questions came like a torrent.
"Calm down." I responded, "Nobody overstepped to their boundaries and nobody was trying to scheme against me. This injury was caused by a cat. It is not that serious."
"Is it one of the cats that are raised in the palace or a wild one?" Killian asked.
"It was a wild one." I replied, “I am sure that I haven't seen it in this Palace before."
"That shouldn't be the case. Wild animals are prohibited from getting into the palace." Killian said with a frown.
I didn't really think it was a big deal. Cats can be very sneaky at times. They have a way of finding the most hidden places around. It would not be surprising to see a wild cat find its way into the palace.
Besides, this Palace has tamed cats. The guards that encountered the wild cat that injured me might think it was part of the ones raised in the palace.
I have seen some of the cats that were raised in this Palace with wild energy around them. If Killian had not explained to me that those cats were tamed, I wouldn't have believed him.
"Maybe the wild cat used one of the unknown holes created by the cats in the palace. If you are really worried about this, just tell your guards to tighten their defense and up their security." I suggested.
"Okay." Killian agreed in a gloomy tone.
Somehow, I felt like Killian would have punished the cat if it was before him right now.
The way he was currently behaving reminded me of how the maid that followed me acted.
A small smile appeared on my lips. The king and his subject were so similar.
