Chapter 178

Days trickled away at a medium pace. The scientists that were researching the cure had finally come up with one.
Because of this great development, I am on the road to full recovery. One thing I was always thankful for is the fact that Killian didn't fall sick from having too much contact with me.
That man was too stubborn. I was glad that his stubborn actions didn't attract bad consequences.
Somehow, it felt like Killian knew that he wouldn't get infected with the disease.
I was still in my personal ward.
The door opened and I raised my head to get a glance. I was sitting on the bed.
After getting multiple injections of the cure that was discovered, I felt less pain when I moved around.
The new arrival was Killian.
My lips lifted into a smile, “I thought you were one of the maids bringing a food trolley.”
“Well, you are right about something. I am going to feed you some news instead of food.” Killian joked.
I raised a brow, “Which news? Speak quickly, I am almost combusting from my curiosity.”
Killian sat down beside me.
His lovely scent drifted into my nostrils.
He spoke, “So, my people found some members of an exploration team.”
My eyes widened as I straightened my body, “What? Really?”
Killian replied, “I was shocked when I found out too. I had thrown Tekita and Maol in places that would make it impossible for them to acquire human slaves. Besides, I had passed a law that is against taking human slaves. This series of actions made it easier for the members of this exploration team to move freely.”
The things I had been putting aside had finally forced me to confront it.
I knew the human government wouldn't give up on this planet. It was time to address this issue.
“Where are those people you found?” I asked.
“I brought them to the palace. Don't worry, you can see them whenever you are ready. Before that, I want us to speak more about your people and the arrangements that might need to be made.” Killian said.
“Yeah, we need to talk about it.” I responded.
“I told you in the past that I have information about the members of the exploration team you were part of. Are you ready to bring them to the palace?” Killian asked.
“I am ready now. Instead of bringing them over, is there a way we can contact them so that I can give them the choice to leave or stay. It’s been so long I think some of them might be satisfied with the life they are living.” I said, “I can't keep putting this issue off. My people would keep sending exploration teams if they don't get what they want. It is better to resolve everything as soon as possible.”
“True, it is better to address this matter and get things over with.” Killian concurred, “Yes, there's a way you can contact those members of the exploration team you were part of.”
The smile that had faded from my lips because of the heavy topic that Killian brought was back on my face.
“Good.” I said.
