Chapter 134

Chapter 134

Edna

My eyes browsed the titles on the spines of the books on the shelf.

I had read all of the books on the shelf row I was looking at so I moved to the next one. Suddenly, a beautiful title caught my eyes.

My fingers acted before my brain could think properly. I grabbed the book.

Due to my haste, another book fell out of the shelf and landed on the floor.

I squatted and grabbed the extra book that I didn't attend to take.

My gesture of putting the book back on the shelf stopped once I saw what was on the book cover in its entirety.

‘The Art Of Calling Spirits.’

My interest was piqued.

My body acted before I could think logically again. I flipped the book open and my eyes scanned the content on the page.

The words on the page was as I imagine.

My heart started banging against my chest. My breath was coming out in heavy pants.

I believed in God and one thing I learned in my faith was to let dead people remain as they are.

Even other religions and beliefs try to get their believers to desist from involving themselves in things like this.

Trying to tamper with something like this can be counterproductive and it might even have dangerous consequences.

This may be some kind of forbidden art.

No wonder the book cover was as red as blood. Even the words on the book cover was as black as the abyss.

This book and the content in it was obviously something I shouldn't tamper with. Still, my fingers refused to put the book back on the shelf.

Since I had seen this book, there was no way I could pretend like nothing happened.

My mind strayed to my brother, Tyler.

The moment the thought of him crossed my mind, my heart ached. I missed Tyler terribly.

My frantic heart didn't slow down as I lost myself in my thoughts.

This book could bring my brother back.

Normally, I wouldn't even believe in something like this and attempting it would be impossible. Fortunately, my world view had constantly been refreshed.

Nothing was impossible to achieve in this universe. Instead of doubting, I wanted to think of the positives.

The loss I went through is one of the major forces that is convincing me to try the content in this book out.

What if this book would really bring my brother back to me?

Tyler would be so happy to be back and I will be happy too. Killian would have a chance to meet my only surviving family member.

With the way I am looking at things, the result of me attempting to bring my brother back to the land of the living was going to end in a win.

Even if the book ends up being a scam and it didn't work, nothing would really be affected. I would just have to deal with my grief in other ways.

My fingers tightened around the red book. I put the book I was planning to read back on the shelf.

I wasn't in the mood to do anything but concentrate on the red book in my other hand.

I didn't bother looking for a chair or something else.

I sat down on the floor beside the bookshelf.

My eyes fell on the open pages of the book again.

The contents of the book poured into my mind like a tsunami.

I read every instruction carefully. I took note of the required materials too.

There must be no mistake.

‘Tyler, we might see each other soon.’
