Chapter 194

Chapter 194
Edna
After getting back home, Killian brought me into his study.

I sat down with my lips trembling.

Killian sat beside me with one of his arms wrapped around my shoulder.

My thoughts spiraled. I don't know why humans didn't want me to have one good thing. Because of humans, I lost my brother. Now, they want to take the major thing that was giving me joy away.

"Killian, I don't understand. I helped them. Is this how they are supposed to pay me back? I am helping a bunch of ingrates." My voice shook.

I thought they had come to their senses when I saw them focusing on building the Earth City. I didn't know they had an hidden card to play.

Wow.

"You are angry and sad now. I don't want you to make rash decisions. Once you have calmed down, we will discuss how to go about this. Don't worry, you and I are going to be together for life." Killian said.

His words brought a wave of relief.

I threw myself into his arms.

The anger I was feeling was making my eyes water. I refused to let those tears fall. I didn't want to cry for the humans that schemed against me.

Killian stroked my hair and back over and over again.

An unknown amount of time passed by. Some of my anger had been quenched by Killian's companionship.

"Edna." Killian called.

"Hmm." I responded in a low voice.

I didn't make any move to get out of his embrace.

"Would you like to see the surprise I prepared for you?" Killian asked.

This news finally prompted me to raise my head up. I stared at him with wide eyes.

My lips parted, "A surprise."

Killian nodded, "Yes. I was supposed to reveal the surprise to you at a later time. Unfortunately, your people made you upset. Now, I want to use this surprise to cheer you up."

"What is the surprise about?" I asked.

Some of my negative emotions reduced.

"If I tell you what it is, it wouldn't be a surprise anymore." Killian said before patting my lower back, "Stand up."

I followed his instructions and rose to my feet. He stood up too.

His right hand grabbed mine. Soon, our hands were intertwined. Killian led me out of his study.

We passed through some hallways, rooms and halls.

Finally, Killian stopped in front of a door. The door was a plain black one.

The material it was made of glittered in the light.

The door didn't give me any hints that would tell me what the surprise would be.

Anticipation suppressed the remaining negative emotions that clouded my heart.

Killian brought a key out and unlocked the door.

He pushed the door open. The two of us walked in.

The first thing I noticed was the gadgets in the room. The room was decorated with comfort in mind. Pink and blue were the major colors.

Two large lounge chairs that could also be used as single beds were in front of a screen.

This screen took up a whole wall. The screen was showing a primitive jungle.

Insects and small animals scurried through the forest.

I looked at Killian with a huge question mark on my face.

Killian chuckled.

"You get bored easily so I decided to set up a VR studio for you. You can either play games or watch movies. There are two ways you can watch movies. You can choose to experience the movie personally using virtual reality or you can watch the movie on this screen normally." Killian explained.

My eyes sparkled.

I was an avid reader. I read anything. Fictional stories and games takes the top spots of what I loved to read or watch.

This gift Killian prepared was something that pleased my heart and soul.

I rushed into his arms and planted a kiss on his jaw.

"Thank you, Killian." I murmured.

My hands tightened around him. All the negative emotions that appeared because of the schemes of my people vanished.

I was already back to normal before I even tested the gadgets in this room.

Killian's arms wrapped around me too, “You're welcome, heartbeat."

I loosened my arms and the two of us were released from the hug.

I walked over to one of the lounge chairs.

My eyes rested on Killian, "How does these gadgets work? I want to play a few games before I address what made me upset."

Killian walked over to where I stood. A medium sized box was beside the lounge chair.

There was another metallic box beside the second lounge chair.

Mechanical glasses and numerous small chips were resting on the two metallic boxes.

All the gadgets in the room are the metallic boxes, two mechanical glasses, the small chips and another item that looked like a food dispenser.

Killian started operating the closest metallic box. He pressed one raised button on the box and a light screen appeared.

His fingers flew across the screen.

Killian stopped looking at the light screen for a second.

He turned to me, "There are plenty games here. Which vibe do you want to go form There is an apocalyptic game, a sci-fi game, a romance game and many more."

"Let's go for an apocalyptic game." I made my choice, "I want to play games with you. I hope the apocalyptic games that are available have a multiplayer section?"

"Don't worry, every game here has the multiplayer feature." Killian replied.

He picked a chip from the ones on the metallic box.

Killian tapped something on the light screen and a tiny hole that was the size of the small chip he was holding opened on the metallic box.

He put the chip in and the hole on the metallic box closed up.

Killian pointed at the glasses that was on the metallic box he was operating, "Put that on and lay on the chair."

I took the glasses and laid on the lounge chair.

Killian stopped operating the metallic box that was near my lounge chair and walked over to the second metallic box.

He pressed the blue button on the metallic box and a light screen popped up.

His hands tapped the light screen repeatedly. Soon, the light screen disappeared and Killian grabbed the glasses that was on the metallic box near his lounge chair.

He didn't touch the small chips on the metallic box.
