Chapter 238

He nods his head as he open mouth breathes.
“I’m sorry alpha. I didn’t expect this to be so hard.”
There’s a whine behind his shaking voice as he continues to pace.
“It’s the difficulties you have telling your story that shows the true terror you’ve suffered at his hands.”
I stand and make my way over to the mini fridge again, removing a bottle of water from inside. I wait patiently for his pacing to calm, holding the bottle out towards him when he stops.
“Would you be interested in the same comfort that I offered Cole? While it doesn’t seem that your ptsd is as severe it would still be helpful for you if I provide a grounding point.”
“A ground, sir?” He states confused.
“Cole hadn’t heard of it either but it’s a way of staying connected to the present instead of getting lost in the past. I would like to hold you.”
I chuckle slightly when I see his bemused expression.
“It’s not as babyfied as you think. Even adults need to be held when things get tough.”
“No, I think I’ll manage to get through this one.”
“You can change your mind anytime.” He nods before taking a drink and sitting back on the couch.
“I followed alpha to his office as he demanded.”
He gets back into the story but at a slightly slower pace.
“He started his talk much like yours. I received the instructions to put the ‘do not disturb’ sign on the door and to lock it before being invited to sit in the seat across from him.
When I sat down he told me to put my hands up on the desk where he could see them before talking about why I was there. He made certain to emphasize that the instructions he gave to leave Cole alone weren’t simply instructions, that it was in fact a command and that dad and I broke that command when we helped him from the training room the night before.
Breaking of commands is insubordination and is a punishable offense. Just as it starts to register in my brain that it’s a punishable offense he grabs my hands, pulls me forward and two metal bands come out and wrap around my wrists. I know immediately that it’s silver due to the burning of my skin causing me to yelp at the contact. It’s as I’m struggling against the restraints that he leaves his chair, grabs his belt from on top of the file cabinet and hits me three times with my clothes on. I’m certain those first hits were from the buckle end as I’ve never felt anything similar to it.
It stunned me into submission long enough for him to pull my pants down and my shirt up. Without any warning he starts hitting me, fast and hard as if he’s trying to get as many in as he can. I tried to fight but it was of no use. I heard a chime sound two hits before he stopped at which point he told me that because I couldn’t take it like a man I get an extra penalty.”
‘You took three minutes of hits, now you get five hits with the buckle.’
“I didn’t understand until that first hit. There’s no way to contain the yelps. Every time I yelped he added five more until he hit thirty. That was when he finally stopped. He put the belt away and released me from the desk.
My back was towards him when he stopped and told me that every time I help him this is what I’ll get, thirty with the buckle end. If I can’t contain my yelp then beta and delta will each give me five more before I’m released. If I report to the med wing without his permission, it doesn’t matter how much money I have in my account, they won’t care for me.
Even though he had released my restraints I stayed laying on his desk for a while after he was done with me. I guess not being accident prone made me ill prepared for the pain he caused.”
“Is that when you started fearing helping Cole?”
“No sir. I was in shock but it didn’t change my resolve to help him. I had seen how bad it could get for the year and a half he lived with us. I saw him seek comfort and protection from us on multiple occasions for a year and a half after he left. The three of us noticed that his father seemed to run in a cycle where Cole would get a little bit of a break before things got bad for him again and it seems the last two years have been exceptionally cruel.”
“Do you know if there was ever a time that it stopped?” He shakes his head as he speaks.
“No sir. He was seventeen the first time we met him. We had seen him in the dining hall intermittently for about a year before he started sitting near us but not with us. Dad invited him to sit with us about a month later as he seemed very lonely sitting by himself. We didn’t even know who he was until then.”
“You didn’t know he was Charles Redmen’s son?”
“We guessed that he might be related as he is the spitting image of his father but we only knew of Cole by name and his family made certain that everyone knew how bad ass he was. Unlike his brothers and sisters, he wasn’t around the rest of the pack which reinforced all the nasty rumors.”
“What happened after Alpha Redmen left the office?” I implore, gently trying to get back to the subject I diverted him from.
“Once the shock wore off I started trying to move around but the movement caused a lot of pain. I yelped and cried the entire time I put my clothes back on. Dad used the link to talk to me. He gave me instructions on how to deal with the pain and asked if I wanted him to pick me up since our home is three miles from the pack house. I told him that I thought sitting would make it worse and I wanted some time alone. He told me that he understood. He felt the same way after he had received his punishment the two times he had taken Cole to Red General and gave me additional instructions to come straight upstairs, he would be waiting in my room.”
“He took care of you, didn’t he?”
“Yes sir. He helped me get out of my clothes and into a bath. Once I laid in bed on my stomach he gave me three shots to ease the pain and help my wolf recover from the weakness being chained in silver created. He talked to me for a while.
Now that I’ve been exposed and understand what will happen I needed to make a decision on helping Cole. I fell asleep before I could tell him. Two weeks later I tried to find Cole but couldn't. I finally stopped by the training room at the back of the pack house and found him barely conscious.
He instructed me to take him out the back door and showed me how to get to his bathroom window. I helped him get inside and left him without going in. Somehow I never got called to alpha’s office for that one.
A week later I helped him back to his room again. He was really rough looking so I entered his room to make certain he had what he needed before I left. About a week later alpha called for me. I had a bad feeling that I knew what it was about but I showed anyway. I could tell by the smell of the room that beta and delta were there but I couldn’t see them. I resisted pulling my pants down and laying across the desk so beta and delta came from behind me and pinned me until I was shackled in place.
He didn’t announce my additional penalties for refusing to lay across the desk until after he gave me thirty. Beta was told he had two minutes to put as many hits as he could across my back but what was worse was the delta. After two minutes with the beta the delta was to give me five hits to my spine with the buckle end. He landed every single one of them. That was when I started fearing Alpha Redmen.
The third time he called for me I refused to report. I didn’t deserve to be punished and I refused to accept it. Two weeks later his border patrol caught up with me and forced me to the training room. They chained me to the ceiling and left me waiting for Alpha Redmen.”
