Chapter 239
(Content Warning)
(Jamison’s POV)
“They just left you hanging there?” I nod my head as I stand and start pacing again. I know that I appear calm on the outside but I’m really starting to struggle on the inside.
“The one warrior that chained me actually apologized quietly to me. Said he hoped alpha showed me mercy compared to what he gave his own son. The one that had punched me so he could get his hands on me held me so the other could chain me. He made a comment about Cole being a ped and deserving of what he’s getting. I held my tongue even though I wanted to say something. I don’t know how long it took but alpha made his presence known when he got there. He started into a calm rant about how I keep helping his son. I made the mistake of trying to argue with him the way I just argued with you. He made the remark that if I felt that strongly that I was right and he was wrong then that changes what he was planning to do.
The change in his voice was evil. It sent shivers down my spine. It took everything I had not to throw up. He told me that his original plan was fourteen hits for the two weeks I was late reporting to him over four sections for the four times I helped Cole. For arguing with him I would now receive the original punishment but my back would now count as two sections and my rear would receive my age plus one. All hits would be with the buckle end.
I heard him call beta and give him instructions. No sooner than he finished his instructions Beta Andrew started hard and fast across my shoulders before doing the same across my waist. It knocked the breath out of me to say the least. There was a momentary break while he gave the belt to Delta David but I was barely breathing when the buckle hit and it all started again.”
I close my eyes, standing completely still as I’m suddenly overcome with the sounds of the belt buckle hitting my skin echoes in my ears. I can feel my body shaking hard enough that I’m struggling to stay standing. I have never felt so many things physically happen in response to a memory and I’m, again, struggling to differentiate between my present and my momentary hell.
I scream and fight as I feel arms silently pull me into a hard, muscular body. One hand slides across my waist causing me to fight and whine even more as another wraps gently around the back of my head and neck.
“Don’t fight this Jamie. Let me help you through the last of it.”
“I can’t alpha.” I whine pathetically as I continue to fight just not quite as hard. “Why is this happening to me? I can’t do this.”
My own words remind me of Cole every time I’ve tried to get him to talk about what has happened to him and how he would call himself names such as pathetic and weak.
“That’s why I’m here Jamie to help you through this. You’ve never shared this memory before, have you?” He whispers gently as I shake my head against his shoulder.
“Does anyone know this happened?”
“Not the details.” I finally manage to whisper.
“I need you to finish Jamie. What else happened?”
“There was a much longer pause after delta delivered his hits. It was a struggle to breathe as my ribs were screaming. I could feel where the buckle had cut into my skin. I could hear Delta David talking with Alpha Redmen and alpha talking about a special belt. He then made the comment that this belt is only used when he needs the consequences of one’s actions to be deeply remembered. As if being chained and beaten like an animal wasn’t enough. Delta asked if I would receive extra for yelping. Alpha laughed and responded with the explanation that no one has kept quiet when he has used this belt. Prepare to hear me scream.”
“Do you know what he used? If this special belt was an actual belt?”
I shake my head against his shoulder as I’m suddenly overcome with pain.
“No!”
I shout just as loudly as I did with that first hit, only I’m not chained. I fight Alpha Black without hesitation pushing and screaming as my mind returns to the onslaught of torture.
“Talk to me Jamie. What’s going on?”
“It cuts deep with every hit!”
It’s the only thing I can scream before totally blacking out beneath alpha on the office floor.
(Demetri’s POV)
It takes everything I have to keep this young man pinned beneath me. I can tell by his movements, his screams that he’s completely lost touch with reality and is reliving the torture of being hit twenty times with a belt that sounds closer to the mid evil cat o’nine tails than any belt I’ve ever heard of.
‘Angela?’ I reach out to her in the link praying that she’s not busy.
‘What’s going on Demetri?’ I’m relieved that she answered so quickly.
‘My fear that Jamie’s involvement with Cole was resulting in him being abused is worse than I could have prepared for. He needs a shot of Valium. Please tell me you’re not busy.’
I know I sound desperate but I know the longer he’s in this blackout state the worse things will be when he comes out.
‘What level do you need?’
‘Enough to sedate him for an hour. He’ll sleep longer than that but I don’t want him too deep.’
‘What’s his rank?’
‘On his app he’s a delta but he’s clearly a beta.’
‘I will treat him as a low level beta since Alpha Redmen doesn’t honor genetic ranks. Where are you?’
‘My office.’
‘I’ll be there in five or less.’
We let go of the link at the same time and I turn my attention back to Jamie. I’m completely lost as to why the young man felt it was necessary to hide such information from me after he has repeatedly begged Cole to consider staying. To see me as someone who can help him escape. Yet he holds back an equally terrifying life, the only difference is the frequency to which it happens.
“Jamie.”
I whisper near his ear as my body is completely over top of his keeping him from running. He responds with a whine, his breathing is rapid and his body stiff with fear. A light knock sets him off screaming again as Angela steps inside.
“What happened Demetri?”
Angela’s voice is breathless with shock as she kneels beside us.
“Cole’s abuse and torture may be constant and systemic but Jamie’s is directly tied to Cole.”
“I don’t understand, Demetri. He showed none of the signs of abuse or torture in any way. I went through all the prospect’s physicals that were done by Dr. Green and Dr. Wills at Crimson General. Jamie was one of them. I saw nothing alarming. Nothing to indicate this.”
“Dr. Green did Jamie’s physical and he did flag Jamie’s file as there were scars found on his lower back and rear that Jamie couldn’t or wouldn’t explain but because there were no outward signs of mistreatment reported by anyone I put his file aside. Up until he broke command to help Cole, Jamie’s emotional health was what we would expect of a twenty-one year old beta male.”
I try to explain simply yet another complex situation.
“Daddy?”
Jamie whimpers as he blindly seeks the comfort of his father’s scent. I follow his movements, quietly slipping my hand under his head so he can scent my wrist, another strong location.
“No Jamie, not your dad, but not your alpha either. Not yet.” I whisper near his ear.
His body slowly relaxes as he picks up the different scent reassuring him of my truthfulness. We stay where we’re at, waiting for the young man to show us what assistance he’s going to need after such a devastating memory.
“Why does it feel like he just did it?” Jamie whispers after several minutes of silence.
“The tension in your body from the fight or flight response tends to leave you exhausted and in pain. Are you ready to sit up?”
“Yes sir.”
“Okay, just stay still so I can get up from on top of you.”
