BK 2 - Chapter 32 - Cat and Trey's Wedding

Kitty was nervously getting ready to go to the main house on the morning of Cat and Trey's wedding. She was going early to help set up before the bride, groom, and guests arrived.

Trey had recently noticed a suspicious SUV in the area, and he ran the tags, which came back to an Otto Russo. When he checked for known associates, Ricky Giordano's name was at the top of the list.

Kitty felt responsible for bringing this man to Valerie and Roger's door, but they reassured her that it wasn't her fault. That didn't ease her weariness. However, knowing that at the wedding today, almost all of the guests were detectives, and police officers helped. Having a few lions handy was nice too.

Aiden was ready to go to the SUV and let Harley have the man, but Trey stopped him. He said they would take care of him when the time was right. Aiden agreed because he didn't want to be the cause of his brother's wedding not going as planned.

Kitty made her way to the main house and rang the doorbell. Valerie opened it within seconds and pulled her inside.

"You don't have to ring the bell; you can come right in." Valerie shut the door and led Kitty to the kitchen, where people were preparing multiple dishes.

"What do you want me to help with? I'm ready and willing for whatever you need." Kitty looked around at all the people and felt out of place.

"They have everything under control here and outside. I was hoping you could help me get things ready for Cat. We're going to pamper her to help get rid of those wedding day nerves." Valerie grabbed a shopping bag on the kitchen counter before taking Kitty to the second floor. The two women went into one of the guest rooms, and Kitty looked around, speechless.

Valerie had turned it into a dressing room. Cat's wedding dress was there as well as her maid of honor dress. A little table was set up for Cat to get her hair and make-up done. Kitty walked around in awe.

"This is amazing."

"I want you to run Cat a warm bath and put the things I have here in it. I'm going to the pool house to get the bride." Valerie handed Kitty the bag before leaving the room. She looked in the bag; it had bath beads and bath oil.

She went into the large bathroom and began to run the water. She added the fragrant items, and they smelled expensive. She couldn't describe the scent other than it had a subtle floral mixed with musk. Just as she was finishing, she heard footsteps, and Cat walked into the bathroom.

Kitty helped her into the tub and let her soak while she went back into the bedroom to assist Valerie. The woman who was doing Cat's hair and make-up was already there.

"Kitty, sit in the chair. Tami will do your hair and make-up while Cat is in her bath." She looked at Valerie in surprise.

"Oh, no, that's not necessary." She started backing away. No one had ever done her hair or make-up. Kitty had learned how to trim her hair on her own because she couldn't afford to have anyone cut it for her.

"Nonsense." Valerie pulled her over to the little chair and had her sit down. Tami gently brushed her hair which had gotten quite long.

"I'm going to even out your hair. Did you want to leave it long, or would you like me to put layers in it? I can do whatever you want." Kitty had no idea what to say. She was put on the spot with something she wasn't comfortable with.

"I'd like to leave it long, please." Tami smiled at her in the mirror and only clipped away the dry ends. After using a flat iron to straighten the waves, she used a fat curling iron and put in long curls. Tami ran her fingers through it to blend the curls when she finished.

Kitty couldn't believe it when she saw her hair. It looked so full and shiny. Tami then pulled out some make-up. She insisted she only wanted something light and not over the top. Tami listened to her and was very modest.

She used a light foundation, powder, and a light grey eye shadow that made her pale green eyes pop. Tami put a nude gloss on her lips that complemented her natural pink. Kitty looked in the mirror, and she didn't even recognize herself. With her hair done and the light make-up, she looked older. Cat came out of the bathroom as she was still staring at herself.

"Wow, you look phenomenal." Kitty quickly jumped out of the chair and blushed. It wasn't her day, but she was feeling pampered too.

"Thanks, Cat."

Cat sat down in the chair, and Tami did her hair and make-up. It was then time for everyone to get dressed. Cats' dress was sleeveless with a fitted bodice covered in tiny sequins that looked like white seashells. The skirt was snug but had a slit up to her knee on one side to give her room to move. She had a thin veil attached to a headband covered in the same seashell sequins.

Kitty's dress was royal blue, knee length with short sleeves, and fitted for Kitty's petite figure. Kitty had the seashell sequins added around the waist of the dress, giving the illusion of a diamond belt. When the two women were dressed, they looked at each other and smiled. Neither of the young women thought their paths would lead to where they were now.

There was a knock on the door, and everyone turned around. Kayla, the ten-year-old girl Cat had helped when she was rescued from a pedophile, walked in with her mother. She was wearing a dress almost identical to Kitty's because she was acting as the flower girl.

"Kayla, you look so beautiful." Cat hugged the young girl, who beamed up at her.

"You look like a fairy princess," Kayla exclaimed shyly. Kitty had seen Kayla a few times and knew her history. She also knew Cat was the reason the girl was doing as well as she was now.

After everyone was ready, Valerie called Ellie to tell the men it was time. A few minutes later, Kitty, Kayla, and Valerie walked out of the room, passing Roger, who was walking Cat down the aisle as he went in. She saw Aiden with his hair fixed and not his standard messy look, wearing a black tuxedo and her heart felt like it was in her throat. He looked so handsome she felt weak in the knees.

"Hello, beautiful." Aiden had never seen Kitty look so enchanting. He was proud to call her his mate and fiance. She smiled up at him as they headed toward the altar.

"Hello, my handsome mate." They walked arm in arm until they reached the front, where they separated. Kayla came next, tossing rose petals down the aisle as she walked.

When the wedding march started, everyone stood and turned toward Cat and Roger coming down the aisle. Roger was tall with thinning brown hair and blue eyes. Even in heels, Cat looked tiny next to him. Roger's face reflected his pride in giving away the young woman he thought of as a daughter.

Cat was so stunning that there wasn't a dry eye looking at her. Kitty watched as her best friend made her way down the aisle to Trey. As the couple stared at each other, it was as though they had forgotten everyone else existed. It was clear they only had eyes for each other.

Kitty stared at Aiden as Cat and Trey said their vows. She was picturing their wedding and began getting excited. He smiled when her eyes met his, and Kitty felt her heart flutter. No matter how long they were together, she would never get tired of how he affected her. Everyone was crying along with the bride and groom when they kissed.

Afterward, the crowd headed to the tent, where there was a dance floor and tables for eating. Cat and Trey danced the first dance together, and Kitty and Aiden watched them with smiles. The newlyweds were so in love you could feel it radiating from them.

Cat and Trey had decided against a honeymoon because they said they had too much to do, but they were spending the weekend in Lake Tahoe. Aiden and Kitty were looking forward to having the house to themselves.

Once they had left for the lake and the guests had dispersed, Kitty and Aiden made their way to the pool house. She was getting ready to take her dress off when he stopped her.

"Let me do that." Aiden came over and unzipped her dress. He had been thinking about undressing her all day. Just as he was getting ready to pull her sleeves down, Kitty heard someone talk.

*"Wow, it looks like I got here just in time. Our mate sure is a looker."*

"Did you hear something?" Kitty pulled away, holding her dress in place as Aiden listened.

"No, what did it sound like?"

"Like a voice. It was like someone was standing right next to me talking."

*"I'm not next to you; I'm inside you. My name is Zola, and I'm your lioness."* Kitty put her hand over her mouth and looked at Aiden with wide eyes.

"Kitty, what's wrong?" He asked, concerned about her expression.

"It's my lioness. She said her name is Zola."
