Chapter 68 - The Wedding

Cat woke up, and everything happened at lightning speed. Valerie came and told her she needed to go to the house because she and Kitty had everything set up. She quickly kissed Trey and told him she would meet him at the altar.

When Cat walked outside, she was shocked. A large tent was in the back where they were setting up the food. The ceremony was going to be outdoors, and she saw the altar was in place, covered in white roses and lilacs. A white runner was making an aisle with chairs on either side.

"Wow, Valerie, this looks incredible." Cat looked around in amazement.

"I'm glad you like it. We kept it simple like you wanted but still made it elegant. Now, let's get inside so we can start pampering you."

Kitty was already in one of the guest bedrooms, and she had run a bath for her with scented bath oil. They had Cat get in and soak while they prepared everything else.

When it was time for her to get out, she dried off and went into the bedroom. There was a woman there waiting to do her hair and makeup. Cat smiled before sitting in the chair.

She and Trey had gotten their hair cut a few days ago. Cat had been worried at first that she wouldn't be able to tolerate it, but she had been fine. She even allowed Amelia to wash her hair and put layers in it for her.

Cat was leaving her hair down for the wedding at the request of Trey. However, the woman fixing her hair for the wedding used a fat curling iron to put long waves down her back. When she was done, Cat was stunned. She had never seen her hair look so good.

After her hair, the woman did her makeup. Cat didn't wear makeup usually, so only a small amount was used to make her light blue eyes pop.

It was then time for the dress. There were only about forty-five minutes left before Cat needed to walk down the aisle to Trey, and she was getting nervous. She didn't like a lot of attention, and she knew everyone would be looking at her.

After Valerie and Kitty helped her put her dress on without messing up her hair and makeup, Cat stared at herself in the mirror. She didn't recognize the woman staring back at her. She looked like she was glowing.

"You look amazing." Kitty looked at her friend with a smile. She was happy for her and everything that she'd accomplished.

"Thank you. You look beautiful in your dress too. I love that color on you." Cat put her arm around Kitty as they looked at each other in the mirror.

"Cat, there's someone here to see you." She turned around and saw Kayla in a dress similar to Kitty's with the same seashell sequin belt. Her blonde hair, now below her shoulders, was curled in ringlets that framed her pretty face. She wasn't as thin as she'd been before. Kayla now looked healthy, and her face lit up when she saw Cat.

"Kayla, you look so beautiful." She walked over and hugged the young girl.

"You look like a princess." Kayla wrapped her arms around the person responsible for bringing the light into her life.

"Thank you. I'm glad you could come and be part of our wedding. It wouldn't be right without you here." Cat saw Maggie standing at the door with tears in her eyes.

"Cat, you're gorgeous. Thank you for including us on your special day. You and Trey have done so much for us; I can't thank you enough." Cat walked over to Maggie and gave her a hug.

Trey was putting on his tux in another guest room with Roger and Aiden. He knew there was no chance that Cat wasn't going to marry him, but it didn't keep him from being nervous. They had marked each other and had a cub on the way, but until she said I do, he couldn't relax.

Roger was taking his role of giving Cat away seriously. He told Trey he better treat her right, or he would have to answer to him if he ever made her cry. When Trey laughed, Roger looked at him sternly.

"I'm serious. If Cat ever tells me that you caused her even one minute of sadness or pain, it will be the last time you do." Trey bit his tongue.

"Roger, you don't have to worry. I never want Cat to hurt or even frown again. My whole life will be dedicated to making her happy." Roger walked over and put his arm around Trey's shoulders.

"Son, you both are going to be very happy." They all turned when there was a knock on the door.

"Gentlemen, it's time to take your places. Roger, Cat, is waiting for you, and Kitty is waiting for you, Aiden." Ellie smiled at the three men in the room. She had been assigned by Valerie to get everyone where they were supposed to be.

Roger and Aiden hugged Trey and headed down the hall to where the women were. Trey took one last look in the mirror and followed Ellie out of the room.

"I'm really happy for you and Cat. She's a lovely woman." Ellie smiled at the man she'd always thought of as a brother.

"Thanks. How are things with you and Patrick?" They walked outside, and Trey stopped to look around. He saw his entire team was there with their families. There wasn't an empty seat anywhere. He hoped it wasn't too much for Cat; she'd been adamant about a small wedding.

"We're doing great. He's here, too. We moved in together a few weeks ago. I better go back to see if Valerie needs anything, and you need to get to the altar." Ellie gave him a quick hug and ran back to Valerie. She was glad Trey had finally found his soul mate.

Roger and Aiden walked into the room where the women were and stopped. Cat was in her wedding gown with the headband and veil in place. She looked absolutely stunning. She smiled at them when they walked in, and both felt their faces turn red. She looked like something out of a fairytale.

Aiden looked over at Kitty and saw her in her blue dress and once again was speechless. She was breathtakingly beautiful with her dark red hair against the royal blue dress. He thought for the hundredth time that he and Trey were lucky they mated with these beautiful humans.

Valerie ushered Aiden and Kitty out of the room, followed by Kayla with her basket of rose petals. She gave Cat a hug before leaving. Cat and Roger were left alone, waiting for their cue to go.

"You look beautiful. Trey is a lucky man." He walked over to her tentatively. Even though she was comfortable with him now, he still was worried about overstepping her boundaries.

"Thank you. You and Valerie have done so much to help us I don't think I'll ever be able to repay you." Cat walked over to Roger and gave him a hug and a light kiss on his cheek. She saw his face turning red again.

"You don't have to repay us for anything. Just allowing us to be a part of your life and letting your children call us grandpa and grandma is all we need. You have given us the family we've always wanted, so we owe you more than you know." When they heard the wedding march music begin, they knew it was their turn to walk outside.

She held on to Roger's arm as they stepped out of the room and down the steps to the entry. They walked out the front door and around the side of the house where everyone was waiting. When the guests saw Cat and Roger, they all stood.

Cat only had eyes for one person. When she saw Trey standing at the altar waiting for her in his tux, her knees almost went weak. He looked so handsome it should be a sin. His blonde hair looked lighter in the sunlight, and his tux was fitted, so you could still see how muscular he was underneath. When their eyes met, everything else fell away. She was floating on a cloud to the man she loved.

Trey stared at Cat as she walked down the aisle to him. She looked like a vision with the sunlight bouncing off the sequins on her dress. When she ed at him, she seemed to be glowing, and he felt like he was going to fall to the ground at her feet. What did he do to deserve this woman to be his for eternity?

When she and Roger got to him, and Roger placed her hand in his, Trey was still frozen, staring at Cat. She leaned up and gave him a quick kiss, and he snapped out of it. He captured her lips and gave her a long passionate kiss, stopping when he heard people laughing.

They turned toward the pastor, who was a friend of Rogers, and got ready to say their vows. They'd decided to prepare their own vows, even though they didn't have much time to prepare. Cat went first.

"Trey, you came into my life at a time when I thought I was destined to be alone. You showed me that my future wasn't already planned out and I could have a life with you. Each day I fall more and more in love with you. You rescued me when I was at my worst and pulled me out of the darkness showing me what it was like to live in the light. I love you, and I promise to never stop loving you for the rest of my life." Trey felt his eyes getting wet when he saw Cat's tears. It was now his turn.

"Cat, I knew we were meant to be together from the first moment I saw you. You have such a kind and caring soul that you impact everyone's life you come into contact with. The light within you was a beacon to me. Calling me to a place where I never thought I would love someone so deeply. You are the light that I will follow to the ends of the earth. I promise to never make you cry, never make you hurt, and never send you back into the darkness. I love you."

Cat and Trey were both crying, as was every person in attendance. Trey leaned down and kissed his sweet bride. When he pulled away, Aiden handed him the ring to put on Cat's finger.

Cat looked down at the platinum ring that Trey had been hiding from her. She could make out a small engraving around the ring as he slid it on her finger. This is my token to my mate, who I will love now and forever.

Cat looked up at him and smiled as she slid his ring onto his finger. When the pastor said Trey may now kiss the bride, he pulled Cat against him and kissed her with everything he had. They were not only mates but also best friends and now husband and wife.

Everyone cheered as the couple walked down the aisle, and the guests followed them into the tent for the reception. Cat made Trey stay by her side while they mingled with everyone. She knew they were his team members, but she still was nervous around those she didn't know.

When it was time for the first dance, Cat wasn't sure, but Trey had picked the song, and it was Here and Now by Luther Vandross. When she heard the music start and recognized it as the song he had played for her right before proposing, she knew she had to dance.

After their dance, they walked off the floor and let everyone else have fun. Trey took Cat over to the corner where a bride and groom table was set up for them. He had Cat sit on his lap, not wanting to put any distance between them.

People came over and talked to them occasionally, but mostly they spent their time kissing and enjoying each other. Cat had never been happier in her entire life, and she knew that with Trey by her side, no one would ever be able to force her into the dark again.
