BK 2 - Chapter 20 - Where's Kitty
With Cat and Trey indisposed for a while, Aiden and Kitty decided to work on some ideas for the group home. They would have them ready the next time they saw the pair to see what they thought.
Aiden bought some graph paper to draw out his designs while Kitty worked on sketches of the art studio. She also thought about a mural she wanted to paint if Cat and Trey were going to have a baby.
"If Cat's pregnant, do you think they would be open to me painting a mural in the baby's room? I thought of painting Cat and Trey's lions as though they were watching over the baby." Kitty bit her bottom lip as she pictured the mural in her head.
"That's an excellent idea, and I think they and their lions will love it." He smiled at her before returning to his drawings. Aiden was thinking about everything Cat had named off that she wanted to be done at the house. Her details and vision were so good Aiden could still see the images in his head.
After sketching her ideas for the art studio, Kitty worked on the mural for the baby's room. She didn't know what Trey and Cat's lions looked like, so she drew a random lion and lioness on the sketch to give them an idea of how it would look. She was satisfied that it was something they would like when she was done.
Kitty was getting hungry and wanted fresh air, so she walked behind Aiden, putting her arms around him. She kissed his neck and looked over his shoulder at his drawings. She was impressed with the detail he was sketching inside the house after only seeing it once.
"Wow, those are amazing. You're really good at this." She picked up one of the drawings and saw it was the large family room. He had put so many details into it that she felt she was standing in the room.
"Thanks. This is what I love to do." Aiden was satisfied with the work he had accomplished so far. It was exhilarating designing again and even better because it was for a good cause.
"I'm hungry. Do you want to get out of here for a few minutes so we can get something to eat?" He grabbed her hand and pulled her around so she stood in front of him. Kitty straddled his lap and sat down. He pulled her face to his and kissed her.
"I'm hungry too, but I needed a kiss before we go." Aiden kissed her again, and she started to forget about being hungry.
"Alright, lion man, did you get enough?" Kitty ran her fingers through his hair, looking into his sky-blue eyes.
"For now. What do you want for lunch?"
"I'm not picky. Let's take a walk and see what we find." They walked out of the building, and as they were getting ready to go down the street, Aiden realized he'd forgotten his phone. Kitty waited outside while he ran upstairs to get it.
When he returned a minute later, he went outside, and she was gone. At first, he thought she was messing with him, but he began to get worried when she didn't come out from anywhere.
"Kitty?" Aiden yelled, causing people to look at him as he ran around looking for her.
*"Aiden, she's gone. I smell an unknown male scent where we left her. Her scent is fading, so I think someone took her in a vehicle. With all this traffic and these people around, there is no way for me to follow it. We have to find her. She's still human; she won't be able to defend herself like she could if she'd been marked."*
Hearing Harley brought Aiden back from the spiral he was beginning to go into. He ran to the apartment's parking garage and jumped into his car. He had no idea where he was going, but he had to do something.

Ronaldo's contact at the DMV provided him with the name of Aiden Galloway as the owner of the black car. However, his car was registered at an address in Monterey. So Ronaldo looked for contacts that lived in Sacramento, and, using some illegal methods, they led him to Aiden's brother Detective Trey Galloway.
He had been sitting in his rented minivan outside, hoping to follow Trey to where Aiden and the girl were staying. When Ronaldo saw the couple walk out of the apartment building, he couldn't believe his luck. They were standing just a few feet from him.
He watched as Aiden ran inside, and the girl waited outside. He knew he would never get another chance like this, so he quickly got out of the vehicle and went behind her. Before she had time to react, he put his hand over her mouth and drug her backward toward the van. There were no other people around where they were standing, but he knew he needed to hurry.
She kicked and tried to bite his hand. Ronaldo was afraid he would drop her, so he punched her in the face to knock her out. He didn't hit her hard, but she looked like she was sleeping, so he assumed it was hard enough. He laid her in the back seat and crawled into the front. The whole thing lasted less than a minute. As Ronaldo was pulling away, he saw Aiden come out of the building through his rearview mirror.
He glanced at the young woman and smiled. Part of his plan was over. Now, he just had to figure out what he was going to do with her. Ronaldo was still unsure about killing her even though that was Ricky's order. He was trying to figure out a way to make her disappear without killing her.
He didn't know where else to go, so he decided to take her to his apartment, which wasn't too far away. Ronaldo parked behind the building where there would be the least amount of eyes. When he was sure no one was around, he got out and went to the back door. He picked up the woman, who was small enough to carry with no trouble, and took her into his apartment.
He laid her on the couch and went to find something to tie her up. He hadn't prepared anything because he didn't think he would get her so quickly. While digging around in his closet, he thought he heard something, but it was silent when he stopped to listen. Ronaldo figured it was one of the neighbors, so he returned to what he was doing.
As soon as Kitty felt the man behind her, she fought. She knew he had to be one of Ricky's men, but she could tell he wasn't strong. When he punched her in the face, it barely stung, but she had learned a long time ago if someone thought you were knocked out, they stopped hitting.
She kept her eyes closed and allowed him to put her into the van. She knew Aiden would be frantic, but she would get herself out of this. She stayed on the seat unmoving and could tell they didn't go far. When Kitty heard him looking for something in another room, she opened her eyes enough to make sure she was alone.
She sat up without making a sound and was going to walk out the door, but she changed her mind. This time she was going to send the message. She looked around and saw a baseball bat next to the door. She then moved to stand next to the doorway where she could hear the man.
When he walked past her a few minutes later carrying a rope, she saw him look at the couch. Before he could turn around, Kitty swung the bat as hard as she could, hitting him in the head. He wasn't out, but he held his head as he fell to his knees and looked up at her in anger.
"You, bitch." Kitty swung the bat again, and he fell to the ground this time. She made sure he didn't move before leaning over him.
"Who's the bitch now?"
