BK 4 - Chapter 21 - Shopping Trip
Lisa and Jayce were in the bedroom, busy researching the Native American angle, when they heard the door burst open downstairs. They jumped up to see who it was and saw Alex and Kiersten standing at the bottom of the steps.
"What's going on?" Lisa asked as they made their way downstairs.
"Kiersten is pregnant," Alex said happily. Lisa and Jayce ran over and hugged them.
"That's great. Did you talk to a doctor?" Lisa couldn't believe she was going to be an aunt.
"Grandma Cat had Dr. Parkins come over to check her out. We got to hear the cub's heartbeat, and this is the picture she gave us," Alex held out the photo. Lisa and Jayce looked at it in confusion.
"I don't see anything," Lisa said, studying it closely. Alex pointed to something small and round in the middle of the picture.
"Are you sure that's the cub? It looks like a jelly bean." Alex glared at Lisa as he snatched the picture from her.
"Yes, I'm sure. Dr. Parkins said I need to mark Kiersten right away. So do you think you two can go somewhere else for the night?" He asked.
"Yeah. We'll pack up our stuff and stay at Mom and Dad's. Have you told anyone about the cub?" Lisa questioned.
"No. Mom, Grandma Cat, and Grandma Valerie are the only ones who know. They want us to announce it at Grandpa Roger's memorial service after the funeral." Alex replied. He couldn't wait to share the news with everyone. Not only had he found his mate, but they were also having a cub.
"How do you think the rest of your family will take it? We've only just met," Kiersten asked softly.
"They're going to be just as happy as my mom and grandmothers were. We're shifters. Everything happens a lot quicker with us than with humans." Alex answered, putting his arm around Kiersten. He knew a lot was happening all at once, and he hoped it wasn't too much for her.
"I think it's amazing. If only everyone could have that instant connection with the person they're supposed to be with, I would think it would make the world a happier place." She hugged Alex a little tighter, enjoying the sparks that flew around them. Who wouldn't love that feeling?
Lisa and Jayce packed their things and left. Alex took Kiersten over to the couch so he could tell her what to expect.
"When I bite you, you're going to feel a little pain, but it won't last for long. I've heard people say that as the venom spreads, it can feel as good as having an orgasm." Alex smiled when he saw Kiersten's face turn red.
"Okay, I'm ready." She said anxiously. Alex pulled her across his lap and tilted her head to the side to expose her neck. When he kissed the area he was going to bite, she shivered.
Kiersten braced herself when she felt Alex's warm breath on her neck. She winced when his fangs began to bite down, but the pain was gone before it started. Her body flooded with warmth, and she moaned in pleasure. The sparks seemed even more intense as his venom spread through her. When he pulled out, she still felt like he was inside, and she needed more.
"I need you now," She said breathlessly. Alex stood her up and unzipped his pants, pulling out his already hard erection. When Kiersten heard what he was doing, she quickly discarded her shorts and panties. Without saying a word, Alex helped her straddle his lap, and she slid down on him. She slowly started riding him, not quite sure she was doing it right. After only a couple of minutes, they both orgasmed. Kiersten put her head on Alex's shoulder while she tried to catch her breath.
"That was intense." She said softly. Alex chuckled. With him still inside her, it made her insides quiver.
"How about we go get cleaned up, and then I want to take you somewhere," He said, kissing her forehead. Alex knew she would probably be in pain the next day as she began to transition, so today was a good day to take her shopping.
"Okay," Kiersten didn't care where they went as long as they were together.
After a quick shower, they left the pool house for the mall. Kiersten heard a lot of people talking and became nervous as they walked inside.
"Where are we?" She asked, gripping Alex's hand tightly.
"We're at the mall. I want to take you shopping," Kiersten stopped walking and shook her head.
"No, I don't have money for a place like this," She tried to turn around, but Alex stopped her.
"I'm taking you shopping. This is my treat. You hardly have any clothes, and I can't let my cub's mother wear threadbare clothes. Please let me do this for you," He said softly, kissing her forehead. Kiersten was conflicted. She knew she needed clothes badly but didn't want Alex to think she was taking advantage of him.
"I don't feel right letting you do that. I have nothing to offer you," Kiersten felt tears stinging her eyes. Alex had so much, and she had nothing. How could they ever be considered equals in their relationship? Alex pulled her over to a bench and sat down.
"You have the three best things in the world to offer me. You, your love, and our cub. Nothing else matters to me. I love you, Kiersten." Alex kissed her softly and wiped away her tears. She felt her heart swell at what he said. Kiersten guessed it wouldn't hurt to pick up a few things so she didn't look like she was living on the street.
"Okay, fine, but not too much," Alex grinned as he pulled her to her feet. That was not a promise he was willing to make, so he decided it was better to not say anything.
They spent a couple of hours going to different stores and picking out clothes. Alex enjoyed watching Kiersten shop. She would run her hands over the fabric and could find the right size based on touch. When he saw she really liked something, he would grab a few in different colors; of course, he didn't tell her.
Once they had many shopping bags, he took her to Bath and Body Works to get soaps and lotions. He let one of the saleswomen help her test the different scents while he watched with a smile. Seeing Kiersten enjoy herself and laugh freely made him happy.
When she had picked out several different scents, they were heading out to the exit when Alex stopped. There was a lingerie store, and he could feel his face getting hot thinking of her wearing some of the things he saw on display.
"What's wrong? I thought we were leaving," Kiersten asked with confusion.
"There's one more store I want to take you to. We got lots of clothes, but how about lingerie?" He asked quietly, as though he was scared someone would hear him. Kiersten's face turned red, but she did need panties.
"Okay. Show me where it is, and I'll get a couple of things." Alex gave her his credit card and took her to the door of the shop. She was adamant that she wanted to go in alone. He saw an older saleswoman approach her with a smile. She turned to Alex and winked while taking Kiersten's arm and leading her further inside. About twenty minutes later, Kiersten came out with a bag and a smile.
"Did you get what you needed?" Alex asked, trying to take the bag, but she held it tight.
"Yep," Kiersten said while handing him the credit card. She was excited to get back to the pool house. She'd bought something as a surprise for Alex and just hoped he liked it.
Alex took Kiersten out to dinner at a small diner that he liked. They served hearty meals, which was important to someone his size. He and Kiersten talked and laughed the entire time.
When they returned to the pool house, Kiersten went into the bathroom, saying she wanted to change. Alex went into their bedroom, making sure it wasn't the one Lisa and Jayce had been in.
Alex set all the shopping bags on the floor inside the closet. He planned to take Kiersten back to his parent's house, but he wanted it to be just the two of them tonight. He wondered what she was doing when he heard her grunting and cursing under her breath. Alex stripped down to his boxers and sat on the edge of the bed. When he heard the bathroom door open, he called out to Kiersten so she would know which direction to go.
"Close your eyes," She said. Alex did as she said and waited. He heard her shuffle into the room. "Okay, you can open them."
Alex couldn't believe it. Kiersten was wearing a dark blue lingerie one-piece. It was lacey and left nothing to the imagination. He was so stunned he couldn't speak.
"So what do you think?" She asked nervously when he remained quiet. He stood up and walked over to her.
"I think you're the most beautiful woman in the world." He said before kissing her. Pulling her to the bed, he laid her down and smiled. She really was gorgeous. Alex now understood why she was grunting when putting the garment on. It was intricate, and he imagined it was difficult for her to tie the ribbon in the back. However, seeing how she was wearing it, he was pretty sure she had it on backward, but there was no way he would tell her. He was too excited to get her out of it.
