BK 5 - Chapter 16 - Lost and Found

**Roseville, California**

Samantha stared at Marcy in shock as she ran over and put her arms around Milo. Cat was right. She'd already formed an unbreakable bond with him. Milo picked her up, and she wrapped her arms around his neck, burying her face against him. Cat walked over and stroked Marcy's head.

"Sweetheart, your mommy isn't going to take you away from Milo." She said to the pup. Marcy lifted her head slightly and looked between Cat and Samantha.

"Are you sure?" She asked. Samantha's tears started falling when she realized she was finally with her daughter again. She fell to her knees and sobbed as she looked at the beautiful girl in Milo's arms. Marcy watched her with her mouth open. She had Milo put her down, and she walked over to Samantha.

"Why are you crying?" She asked her. Samantha uncovered her face and looked at Marcy, who looked so much like her father that it hurt.

"I'm crying because I never thought I'd see you again. I've been searching for you since the day you were taken from me," Samantha answered her. Marcy looked unsure, but when Milo nodded, she hugged her mom. Samantha held her tight as she cried. "I love you so much, baby girl."

"Grandpa said you didn't want me. He said you threw me away because I was disgusting." Marcy cried against her mom's shoulder. Samantha stroked her hair and pulled Marcy back so she could look into her eyes.

"I love you. I would never throw you away. I was so lost without you. You don't have to worry about leaving Milo, either. Cat said you just found out that you're a werewolf. Do you know what it means to find a mate?" Samantha asked her as she sat on the ground and pulled Marcy onto her lap. She was so happy to have her daughter back but knew she had to take it slow.

"No. What's a mate?" Marcy asked. Milo sat down with them, and Cat went into the house to give the three of them some time alone.

"We're werewolves, and that means the Moon Goddess Selene picks out the perfect man or woman for each of us. She picked out your daddy for me, but he died. So now she's given me a second chance with Milo." Marcy looked from Samantha to Milo and back again.

"What happened to my daddy? Grandpa said I killed him." She looked down at her hands. Samantha wished she could bring the old bastard back and let her wolf have a go at him. She decided it was best to be honest with Marcy.

"You didn't kill him, sweetheart. Your grandpa did because he didn't want your daddy to be a wolf." Marcy looked at her mom with tears in her eyes.

"Milo's not a wolf, so how can he be your mate?" She asked. Marcy was still scared something would take her away from the only person she'd trusted in a long time.

"We can mate with humans. We mark them by biting them, and then in a few weeks, they have a wolf, too. So if Milo wants to be my mate, he'll be a werewolf, just like me and you." Samantha answered her. Marcy looked at Milo.

"Well, are you going to be my mommy's mate?" She asked as though the answer should be obvious. Samantha tried to hide her giggle at the way Marcy was looking at him like she was daring him to say no. Milo's face turned red.

"We were just talking about it when you got home. What do you think, Samantha? Do you want me to be your mate?" Milo asked her. He was ready to say yes, but he didn't want to pressure her if she wasn't truly ready for someone else. She'd just found her daughter, so it may be too soon.

"Yes, I want you as my mate." Samantha smiled at him. After years of feeling empty inside, she suddenly felt like her heart was going to burst. She had her daughter and a mate. Everything was finally coming together.

"Okay, so go ahead and bite him so he can get a wolf," Marcy said, crossing her arms in front of her.

"Uh, I don't know if Milo's ready for it so quickly," Samantha replied. Marking a mate was an intimate process, but she wouldn't deny Marcy if she wanted to see it. Milo reached over and took her hand.

"You can do it now if you want to. I'm not going to change my mind." He said. They hadn't even kissed or known each other for more than a few hours, but they were both absolutely sure this was what they wanted. Samantha put Marcy on her feet and then moved so she was kneeling between Milo's legs. She looked into his eyes just to be sure.

"Are you positive this is what you want? A life with us as a werewolf?" She asked him. Milo smiled and wrapped his arms around her. Leaning forward, he placed a soft kiss on her lips.

"I've never wanted anything more." He replied. Marcy clapped her hands.

"Yay! Bite him." She said excitedly. Milo tilted his head to the side and waited. Samantha looked at Marcy, who nodded eagerly. It was finally happening. Samantha couldn't believe she was going to have the family she always wanted.

When she leaned forward, her canines protruded. She bit down into Milo and closed her eyes while the sparks flew around them. Milo moaned as he tightened his hold on her. His whole body felt like it was coming alive, and he felt a connection so deep that it took his breath away. When she pulled back, he opened his eyes and stared at her.

"Wow, that was incredible. I didn't think it would feel like that." Milo said. He had the desire to kiss her and touch her, but as they were sitting outside with Marcy looking at them, it probably wasn't the best time. Samantha hugged him so she could whisper in his ear.

"Yeah, it's pretty powerful. We typically do it in the bedroom because it can lead to other things. Maybe we can get to that later." She kissed his cheek and pulled away. All Milo could do was nod. It was hard for him to believe just a few days ago; he was intent on getting revenge on the werelion family. Now, he was on his way to being a werewolf with a mate and daughter. He was claiming Marcy as his daughter; he already loved her as though she were his.

"Alright, so now we can be a family, right?" Marcy asked, sitting down so she was on both of them. She looked at them expectantly.

"Yes, darling, we can be a family. I'm just so happy I found you, and you're okay. I was scared for so long." Samantha told Marcy as she hugged her again.

"It's okay. Grandpa did bad things to me, but Milo helped me. I'm better now that I have my wolf Star, too. Do we have to move away?" Marcy asked. Samantha knew it wouldn't be easy for Marcy to get over everything her grandfather did, but at least she had her and Milo to help her through it.

"No, we're going to stay here for right now. Cat gave me a room in her house." Samantha reassured her. She didn't want to throw too many changes at Marcy at once.

"Goody. Can I sleep with you guys tonight? Sometimes, I have scary nightmares." Marcy asked them. Samantha's heart broke. She could only imagine the things that man did to her baby to make her have nightmares.

"Of course you can." She kissed Marcy's head, and Milo wrapped his arms around both of them. They hadn't talked about sleeping arrangements, but if Marcy wanted to sleep with both of them, they wouldn't deny her anything.

Cat watched them from inside the house with tears running down her face. She loved it when families came together. All three of them had been lost, and now they had each other.

**San Diego, California**

Jackie stumbled over her words as she dropped the blade she was going to use on Paul. Satan wanted to see who she was most loyal to, and she proved she was only loyal to herself. Pretending to be a virgin man had been fun, but Jackie had done exactly what he thought she would. She offered sex in exchange for blood.

"I don't know what you mean. I was only getting the items you told me I needed." She said as she swallowed nervously. Satan had been leading her on for a long time because he knew how much she wanted to be one of his women. However, she would never be one because she wasn't good enough. Jackie only thought about Jackie. He may be Satan, but he wasn't heartless. He and his women had relationships; they cared for one another. Jackie only wanted him to get what she wanted.

"You were supposed to get the blood of a virgin man, yet what did you do? You took away his virginity. If you were loyal to me, you would have found another way to get what you wanted, but you didn't hesitate. I thought you were better than that." Satan stood up and fixed his clothes. Jackie's face turned white.

"What are you talking about? I did this so I could be with you. Please don't leave me now. I need that book." Jackie put her hand over her mouth when she realized what she said. All she cared about was that book. What Jackie didn't understand was that even if Atzi died, that book would never be hers.

"Sorry, dear, but this ride is over. Please don't contact me again. Good luck." Satan snapped his fingers and was back in his realm. Jackie was going to be surprised. She'd be with him soon enough because the day she tried to get the book would be the day she would die. Then Satan would give her everything she deserved.
