BK 2 - Chapter 68 - Gina
A few days after Gracie's birthday, Aiden and Kitty drove back home to help put the finishing touches on the group home. When they arrived, Trey updated them on what Gina was planning. Aiden agreed that the only way to stop her was to kill her.
Thatcher was still in Monterey following her, and he said she hadn't made contact with any of the men Buz had given her so far. Della was staying at the hotel where he and Janel were staying until she decided where she wanted to go. She had always belonged to someone else, so it was overwhelming to her not to have someone telling her what to do.
Cat and Kitty were nervous about Gina. They felt responsible for breaking up the Galloway family. Neither wanted their mates to be the ones to attack her because she was their mother.
"I think it would be best if we were the ones to take out Gina. I know our mates want to protect us, but I'm worried about how it will make them feel killing their mother." Cat looked at Kitty thoughtfully as they walked around the group home that was almost ready to open.
"I agree, but do you think they'll be upset with us?" She was worried Aiden would be hurt if she killed Gina.
"I believe they'll be relieved that they didn't have to do it themselves. I can tell that Trey has been struggling with his feelings regarding her. As much as he detested his family, they're still his family." Cat thought it was sometimes a curse to be able to feel others' feelings so intensely. When she was lying in Trey's arms at night, his emotions were the strongest as he slept.
"How are we going to get them to let us do it?" Kitty looked out the window where the two men were talking outside.
"Let me handle that. I'm not looking forward to returning to Monterey for this purpose. Nevertheless, I refuse to let that woman destroy my family. I've worked too hard to get out of the chains that were holding me back." Cat hugged Theo as she spoke, and Saira growled in agreement.
The two women went outside to join their mates. They were getting ready to drive back to the central coast to confront Gina. She thought she was going to get the jump on them, but she had another thing coming.

Thatcher was sitting outside the Galloway mansion listening to Gina on the phone with one of the men Buz had given her. He was waiting for her to say the dirtbag's name so he could eliminate him before he even had a chance to put his boots on.
Once he heard the name, Thatcher pulled out the paper with all the information he needed to find him. This shifter hitman lived close by in Santa Cruz, so Thatcher wouldn't have to go far. He took off as soon as he knew where he was going.
He didn't have Janel with him, so he didn't have to drive; he could go on foot. He made it in under fifteen minutes. When he arrived at the small house in the Santa Cruz mountains, he stopped on top of a tall tree so he could get the layout.
As he watched the house, he saw a large burly man walk out the front door. From the picture, he'd seen it was the guy he was looking for. As soon as he walked under the tree, Thatcher jumped onto his back and bit into his neck, draining him of his blood.
This man was a shifter killer, but he wasn't one himself, so the vampire decided to have a snack. Once he had drained all his blood, he put him back in his house and left. The man was a recluse, so he would most likely be rotten by the time someone thought about him.
Thatcher went back to the hotel when he returned to Monterey. Gina had thought she had found her man, so he wasn't worried about her making any other moves before the lions' arrival. He wanted to spend some time with Janel while they waited.

Gina hung up the phone with a smile on her face. She had picked what she concluded was the best choice to take care of her family. Now all she had to do was wait on the call, saying the deed was done.
She looked around her silent house and decided it was time to leave the area and start over somewhere new. Thomas had already been eliminated by Gina herself. She poisoned his food and then threw his body off the cliff behind their house.
Her lion had been slowly dying inside her since she had decided to kill her family. Once she was gone, Gina had no one to talk reason to her. She had fired all the staff that was working in the house, and she had started talking to herself. Gina would spend hours looking out the window, lost in her thoughts, not realizing how much time had passed.
She was in that lost state of mind when she heard a loud bang at the front door. At first, she didn't react, but when she heard the sound of footsteps, she slowly turned her head from the window. What she saw made her see red, and she jumped out of her seat, rushing forward.
Cat and Kitty stood their ground as Gina rushed toward them with a crazed look in her eyes. They had told their mates this was their fight and wanted to prove they didn't need them constantly to take care of things on their behalf.
"What are you two bitches doing here? I just made arrangements to have you killed." Gina tried to lunge for them, but they moved slightly out of the way, so she flew onto the floor.
"We are here because we're not going to let you break up our family," Cat spoke with fire in her eyes. She was done with everyone constantly coming after them.
"You are responsible for breaking up my family. You took away all of my children. Now that you're here, I'll kill you myself." Gina picked up a large vase and swung it, trying to hit Cat in the head.
The two young women simultaneously shifted into their lions and began circling Gina. The older woman was too far gone to care as she tried to hit them. Saira jumped on her, knocking her to the ground, while Zola grabbed one of her legs.
Saira grabbed the other leg, and they pulled the screaming woman outside to the same cliff behind the house where she had thrown her mate a week earlier. The lionesses threw Gina to her death, not wanting to tear Trey and Aiden's mother to pieces. They thought letting the sea take care of her was more humane.
After they watched the water sweep her body away, they went back into the house and shifted into human form. They grabbed clothes from the bag they had left next to the door when they came in. After they were dressed, they ran outside to their mates.
"Is it over?" Trey asked quietly.
"Yes. We threw her off the cliff behind the house. The way she looked, it seemed she had lost her mind. Saira said she didn't feel the presence of her lion either. I'm sorry it ended this way." Cat hugged him as the tears streamed down her face.
Trey felt a heaviness in his heart that his family had been completely disassembled, but there wasn't any other choice. At least he still had Aiden and Daniella. Reece and Twila went abroad, but he didn't care if he never saw them again after how they had treated Cat.
"I'm not sorry for anything other than putting you and Theo in danger. I knew she wasn't a good person, but I never thought she would try to kill anyone. I believe now we can finally live in peace." He leaned down and kissed her while he held Theo between them.
Aiden and Kitty were a few feet away, holding each other. It was an emotional day for many reasons. The two couples walked toward the truck as Thatcher and Janel ran up to them.
"Is it time to go home?" Thatcher asked, hoping they could all get some rest now. He was ready to turn Janel into a vampire.
"Yes, it's time to go home. Has Della made a decision?" Cat asked with a smile.
"She's staying here. I paid her hotel for a month so she can decide what she wants to do." Thatcher said as they got into their vehicles.
They drove back home in silence. Trey and Cat dropped off Aiden and Kitty at the pool house, and they decided to shower when they got inside.
While taking her clothes off, Kitty suddenly started feeling strange. Her body was flaming hot, and she was panting. She finished undressing and went to the sink, splashing cold water on her face. Aiden noticed her skin was red, and when he touched her, she was burning up.
"What's wrong?" He asked, concerned.
"I don't know, but I need you inside me now." Kitty looked at him with desire as she felt a painful ache between her legs. Aiden sniffed the air and realized what was happening.
"You're in heat."
