BK 2 - Chapter 69 - Coming Together

As the small boat glided through the water of the Monterey Bay, the three men stopped when they saw something floating. At first, they thought it was a large dead fish. When they got closer, they realized it was a woman.

Two of the men leaned over the edge of the boat and pulled her into their fishing boat. They thought she was dead, but then she started moaning and coughing up water. She was missing a hand, her face was smashed, and her legs were broken, but they recognized her immediately.

"Do you know who this is?" Asked one of the men as he stared at her in disbelief.

"It's that bitch Gina Galloway. It looks like someone finally tried to pay her back. I say we pretend we never saw her and finish what they started." The older of the three men looked at the woman who ruined his life.

He had owned one of the leading salmon fishing companies in the area. His business had been profitable and was growing rapidly. That was until Gina became upset that the salmon business she had invested in took a decline because of his success. She spread lies that his fish was contaminated and had poisoned her. Due to her influence, his company went down faster than it had gone up. Before he knew it, he was bankrupt and was barely making ends meet. Today he and his two sons happened to be out fishing recreationally. What a coincidence to come upon the devil herself.

"Dad, are you sure you want to kill her? I know what she did, but she's still a person." The two younger men looked from their dad to the woman moaning in the boat.

"Most likely, she'll die anyway. So we'll just say we're putting her out of her misery. Do you have a problem with it? Tell me now if you do, and I'll drop you off and take her back out here alone." He looked at his sons, who both shook their heads. They didn't care what happened to the woman, but they didn't want their dad to have regrets later.

The older man turned the boat around and went further out where there would be no witnesses. Once they were far enough away, he stopped the boat, grabbed his fishing knife, and slit the woman's throat so deeply he almost severed her head. They then threw her into the water to let mother nature bury her at sea.

None of them spoke on the way back to the docks. They didn't feel like they had done anything wrong. After all, she was evil and got what she deserved. They thought they had gotten justice for all those she had treated poorly over the years.

Kitty's heat lasted three days and three nights. When she woke up on the fourth day, she felt like herself again. She had never thought being in heat would make her want so much sex that it was like she could never get enough.

She and Aiden had passed out exhausted late last night, and Zola told her the heat was coming to an end. She also told her she was pregnant. Kitty was excited but also uneasy. She was only nineteen, and they didn't even have a house.

"What's wrong?" Aiden kissed her lips which finally felt normal and not like fire.

"I was just thinking I'm nineteen, pregnant, and have no house." She purposely slipped the pregnant part in there to see if he would notice.

"I love that you're nineteen, and we'll find a place to live whenever you're ready. It's been nice staying here, but I don't want to wear out our welcome." Aiden smiled at her, and she raised an eyebrow waiting for the rest of her sentence to register. When it did, his eyes got huge, and he looked down at her belly.

"Did you say pregnant? We're going to have a cub?" He jumped off the bed and picked her up into his arms, kissing her.

"Yes, we're going to have a cub. You're okay with that?" Kitty asked, not sure how she was feeling about it herself.

"I've been dreaming about this day since I found out you were my mate. Who cares if we're young? That means we have more time to spend with each other. I love you." He bent down and kissed her as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

"I love you too. Now put me down so we can shower and tell everyone our good news." Kitty felt her worry about becoming a mother fade after hearing Aiden's excitement.

They quickly showered together, and Aiden insisted on washing her from head to toe. He was treating her like she was breakable now that she was pregnant. When they were done, they got into the car and drove over to the group home to see Cat and Trey. The couple was outside talking to Valerie and Roger when they pulled into the driveway.

"Well, it looks like you survived," Trey said, teasing his brother, making Aiden's face turn red as everyone tried to hide their laughter.

"Leave them alone. It wasn't long ago that was us." Cat said with a smile.

"Yeah, and I can't wait for the next time. We're going to have a house full of cubs one day." He leaned down and kissed her shocked face as Aiden and Kitty walked up to them.

"Everyone, we have good news. I'm pregnant." Kitty couldn't contain her excitement. Valerie and Cat hugged her in delight while Roger and Trey patted Aiden on the back.

"It looks like I'm going to be a grandpa again," Roger said as he looked down at Theo in his arms. He was starting to think it was time to retire so he could become a grandfather full-time.

"Kitty and I will be looking for a house, so we will be out of your hair before the cub arrives," Aiden told Valerie and Roger, who both looked at them in confusion.

"Do you not like the pool house?" Valerie asked, concerned. She had gotten used to having them there and would love them to stay with their little one.

"We love it. We just don't want to be a burden." Aiden reassured her quickly.

"Then please stay. We like having you there, and it will be great to have our grandchild there too. I promise we won't pop over unannounced." Valerie pleaded.

Kitty and Aiden looked at each other and smiled. They had wanted to find a place of their own, but staying at the pool house was convenient. It also wasn't far from the group home.

"We'll stay. Thank you." Kitty hugged both Valerie and Roger.

"Now we'll turn that extra bedroom into a nursery, so everything is ready for the cub. I can't wait to get started. Another thing, when are you two planning on getting married?" Valerie looked at them, and they both blushed.

"We hadn't talked about it. That was the furthest thing from our minds with everything going on." Kitty spoke quietly. She had never dreamed of having a wedding growing up. She had only hoped to survive. Now she was having a cub, engaged to Aiden, and she's a werelion.

"Do you want to have it at our house like Trey and Cat did? We can plan it quickly if you want to have it before the cub arrives. I'm sure you'll want your family here, Kitty. What do you guys think?" Valerie could tell they were overwhelmed, so she looked toward Cat for help.

Cat walked over to Kitty and Aiden, taking their hands in hers. She could feel some of the tension leave their bodies. She then turned to them with a smile.

"Would you like to have the wedding before the cub? It's up to you to do whatever you want. We will help you, so take a deep breath and decide what you want." The couple looked at each other and spoke through mindlink.

*"What do you think? Do you want to have the wedding before the cub gets here? I'll do whatever you want."* Aiden took Kitty's hand. She thought about it for a minute and decided it would be best to be married sooner rather than later. If they waited for the cub, they might be too busy to plan anything.

*"Yes, it's better to do it before the cub comes."* Aiden beamed at her before pulling her into his arms.

"Alright, let's do it as soon as possible. If you don't mind having another wedding at your house, we'll do it there. Thanks again for everything you all have done for us." Aiden looked at the other two couples with a large smile.

The group home was now finished and ready for inspection, so they would be able to start taking kids in soon. After they walked through the house, ensuring everything was perfect, everyone went to Roger and Valerie's to start planning the wedding.

Kitty and Aiden wanted a small wedding with only family there. So there wouldn't be any guests other than Roger, Valerie, Cat, and Trey. They would also ask Sandie, Max, and the kids to come as well as Daniella and her family who had moved to Sacramento. They couldn't leave out Thatcher and Janel either.

Kitty looked around the table with tears in her eyes. Not long ago, she was living on the streets, stealing to survive. Now she had family, friends, and so much love that she could drown in it. For a foster child who only desired to be wanted and loved, she was living her dream.
