Chapter 66 - Chasing Leo
Saira and Atlas kept nudging Leo with their snouts wanting him to get up and run. It was no fun to play if he continued to lay in a ball, crying like a baby. Atlas took the cuffs in his mouth and bit through them so they would come apart. He had to make Leo think he had a chance of getting away.
Leo felt the lion's mouth on his wrists and thought he would start eating him, but instead, he bit his cuffs off. Leo pulled his arms in front of him and opened his eyes. The two lions continued walking around him but didn't attack.
He remembered that Cat said he should run before they got him. Leo slowly stood up, worried that one of them would jump on him, but instead, the lioness pushed him with her snout, indicating he should run. He started to back up toward the road, but the male lion got behind him and growled, so he knew he had to stay in the forest.
Leo looked around and tried to think of the best way to outrun two lions. When he looked back at the two large animals, they both sat down, and he took that as a cue that he was getting a head start.
Saira looked at Atlas as Leo took off running. Even if he was able to get far enough away that they couldn't see him, they could smell the fear and urine for miles. She walked over to Atlas and rubbed against him, purring.
*"How much time are we going to give him?"* Saira asked as she rubbed against her mate.
*"Let's give him about five minutes. We don't want him getting too far away and running into another human."*
After five minutes had passed, the two lions started walking in the direction Leo had run. They were in no hurry and wanted him to feel the fear he had caused Cat all those years.
Leo's scent was so strong they knew he hadn't gotten far. Fear will do that to you, make you think you're running away, but in reality, you're just running in circles.
Leo ran as fast as he could through the forest. The bad thing for him was he was wearing a heavy suit and dress shoes, not suitable for running on uneven ground. He was not in the best shape either, so after a few minutes, his sides hurt, and he was panting for air.
He stopped for a minute and looked around. Everything looked the same; all he could see were trees and large boulders in every direction. Leo wasn't sure what to do because if those lions got him, he knew he was dead.
He heard a sound behind him like a twig snapping, and he suddenly got his second wind. He began running at full speed, almost tripping and falling a few times. When Leo came to a large tree that he thought he might be able to climb, he took hold of the lowest branch to pull himself up.
He maneuvered his way up until he was about fifteen feet off the ground. Sitting on a sturdy branch, he put his back against the tree and didn't move. When Leo looked down, he almost screamed. The two lions were directly under him, and he could see them sniffing the air.
Saira and Atlas looked at each other with knowing eyes. They knew Leo was above them, but they wanted to have a little fun before they ended his miserable life.
They circled the tree sniffing the air, pretending they didn't know where he was. Atlas bumped the tree a couple of times, seemingly on accident, trying to make Leo fall or make a sound, but he didn't.
While Atlas stayed under Leo, Saira moved to another tree and began climbing as quietly as she could. When she was almost level with where he was, she jumped from her tree and landed directly on Leo's back, letting her claws sink into his shoulders.
Leo screamed as he fell from the tree, but Atlas caught him, not wanting the ground to kill him before they had a chance. He tossed Leo aside, letting him fall on one of his bleeding shoulders.
He screamed again when the lion threw him like he was nothing. He was to the point he just wanted them to kill him and get it over with. However, the lions seemed in no rush to do that.
"Please kill me. I can't run anymore." Leo was crying, lying on his side. When the lioness walked over to him, she took her claw and ran it from his head, down his face, and over his already bleeding shoulder. When he thought she was going to stop, she continued down his arm and then his leg.
Leo screamed the entire time. To make matters worse, the male lion came over and peed on his face in the fresh wounds making it sting like a bitch. He thought he was going to drown in the amount of urine the lion was pouring down on him.
He was getting mad now. Why did they keep playing with him? Why wouldn't they finish it already? He tried to stand while blood poured out of his wounds. He looked at the lioness and smirked.
"I know you want me to apologize for what you think I did wrong, but I'm not going to. I didn't do anything bad. You deserved everything that was done to you because your bitch of a mother ruined my life." Leo heard both lions growl in warning, but he didn't care. If he was going to die, he needed to break Cat one more time.
"Caterina, you were nothing but a whiny little good-for-nothing bitch from the time you were born. You should have been on your knees thanking me every day for taking you in, but instead, you turned me in to the police. I should have killed you for that alone."
Saira knew he was trying to goad Cat, but she wasn't going to let him manipulate this game. She could feel Cat's anger, but Saira calmed her down.
"I heard that Caleb was able to get you and what he did. You would have been with him all these years if you had kept your mouth shut. Then I would have been able to continue running my business. Your mom was the lucky one. She died so that she didn't have to be bothered by you. I should have killed her myself instead of letting cancer take her to a long, painful death. I would've slit her throat and let you watch as she bled out."
Saira had heard enough, and she wasn't going to let him torture Cat anymore. Atlas agreed with her, and they both started circling Leo.
He smirked at them, still thinking he had the upper hand and could bring Cat down. Before he could get another word out, the lioness lunged at him, tackling him to the ground. She put her snout between his legs and bit down. Leo screamed as she ripped off his penis and scrotum in one bite, spitting them out on the ground.
As Leo rolled around crying, holding the area his male parts used to be, Atlas walked over and bit a hole into his side. Saira followed suit and bit off a chunk of his thigh. They continued biting off pieces, but not enough to kill him. When he was starting to lose consciousness, Saira shifted back into Cat.
Cat leaned down and looked into Leo's mangled face and smiled. She spit on him and got close to his ear so he could hear her.
"Looks like I win you, piece of shit. I hope you rot in hell." She then motioned to Atlas to finish him off. Atlas went behind him and ripped out his throat, killing Leo instantly.
He then shifted into Trey, who ran over to Cat as she began to cry. She couldn't believe it was finally over. Leo was dead and would never be able to hurt her or anyone else again. They stood naked in the forest, hugging each other for a few minutes before shifting back into their lions.
Saira and Atlas finished tearing Leo apart until he was nothing but a pile of meat and bones. They then spread the pieces throughout the area, knowing that the other animals would finish what they had started.
Cat and Trey's clothes had shredded when they shifted, but they had brought spares in the truck for when they finished. Both felt at peace as they walked to the truck.
Trey was glad that he had been able to let Cat get her revenge on Leo for the years of torture he had caused her. Cat was pleased that she got justice for herself, her mother, and everyone else Leo had hurt. She was ready to let the darkness of her past die with Leo.
