BK 4 - Chapter 6 - Part of the Family
Jayce held Lisa tightly when she wrapped herself around him. How was it possible to feel like his world was all coming together with someone he had only known for a few hours? He kissed her deeply as he held her, never wanting to let her go. When they pulled apart, he looked into her beautiful blue eyes.
"Do you know what it means to me to have someone like you want someone like me? I'm a nobody from the other side of the country, and you're a badass werelion. I don't feel worthy of you." Jayce said honestly. How could he compare to this incredible woman?
"You're right. I'm too good for you." Lisa joked. When his face froze in disbelief, she gave him a soft kiss. "I'm kidding. Jayce, you're perfect. You're handsome, kind, compassionate, and a great kisser. Even if you were covered in warts with a goiter and ten extra toes, I wouldn't care. You're my mate, so you were made for me. I never cared how my mate would look, their species, or anything else. All I wanted was for my mate to accept me. Now that you have accepted me, every doubt in my mind that I wouldn't be good enough for you when we met has been erased. Don't ever think I'm better than you because I'm not. We're each other's other half, so together, we're perfect."
Lisa wrapped her arms around his neck, threading her fingers into his hair. Was it possible to already love someone so quickly? Her heart was only beating for him. She wanted him to make love to her, but she was scared to ask. Maybe he wasn't ready yet.
"Do you have to go home tonight?" Jayce asked as he put her feet on the ground. Was it too soon to want her to stay the night with him? Even if they didn't do anything other than sleep, the thought of being away from Lisa even for a minute made his heart ache.
"No. I want to stay here with you. How about we eat dinner before it gets cold?" She answered, smiling up at him. Jayce kissed her again before returning to the kitchen to put the food on plates. Lisa texted Alex and Breanne that she wouldn't be home. She received two completely different responses.
*"Way to go, sis. I guess that means he accepted you. Let me know if he does or says anything to hurt you because I can pound him a little."* She giggled at Alex's reply.
"*What the hell? You show no interest in any guy for three years, and this one waltzes in here and steals you from me after only a few hours? What's going on? Did he kidnap you? Is this even Lisa, or is this Jayce? Maybe I should call the police."* Lisa shook her head and decided it was better to call Breanne before the police started banging on the door.
"Hello? Lisa, do you need me and Alex to come down there?" Breanne asked, already sounding like she was running down the steps.
"No, I'm fine. Calm down. Do you remember how I told you I was waiting for the man who would be my soulmate?" Lisa asked, looking at Jayce as he set their food on the table. He grinned at her. Hearing her tell others about him meant she wasn't ashamed of him.
"Of course. You always said you would know when you met the man for you. Oh my God. Are you saying you think Jayce is that man? How do you know? You've only known him for less than a day." Breanne asked, feeling excited yet a little sad. Was she going to lose her friend?
"I just know. I can't explain it, but I know he's the one for me, and he feels the same way. I'll tell you more later. Breanne, I want you to breathe. You're not losing me; we're only adding to our family." Lisa knew her friend was scared of change and anything that would take those she cared about away. She heard Breanne sigh in relief.
"Okay, if you're sure. I'll trust you. Now, you have to tell me everything tomorrow. Love you," Breanne said happily.
"Love you too," Lisa hung up and looked at Jayce, who was still beaming at her.
"You told her about us and said I'm part of your family. Do you know how much that means to me? I've never been part of anyone's family." Lisa kissed him before taking her seat.
"Now you're part of a big one. I can't wait to introduce you to everyone. Don't worry if you can't remember everyone's names because sometimes I get them all confused." She chuckled as she took a bite of her food. Lisa closed her eyes and moaned in pleasure.
"Do you like it?" Jayce asked, amused by her response. She opened her eyes and looked at him in astonishment.
"Like it? No, I love it. How did you learn to cook like this? The sauce is so rich and creamy I could take a bath in it." Lisa giggled when Jayce let his eyes roam over her body. She knew what he was thinking.
"Next time, I'll be sure to make enough to see that." Jayce was already picturing Lisa covered in Alfredo sauce. When he heard her laughing, his face turned red.
"Get your head out of the gutter. For all your know, I could be covered in hairy moles." She said as she finished the pasta that she had inhaled. She was thinking about how to get Jayce to take her to bed.
"I don't care what you're covered in. You're still the most beautiful woman I've ever met." Jayce took their plates and quickly washed them. He was nervous. Was Lisa expecting more than just to sleep with him? What if he tried to touch her, and she got angry? After he cleaned the kitchen, while trying to get his nerves under control, he noticed she was watching him.
"Jayce, are you avoiding me? If you want me to leave, I can go. I know I basically came in here and dropped a bomb on you." He quickly shook his head.
"I don't want you to leave. I'm just not sure what to do." He said honestly.
"What do you mean you don't know what to do? What do you want to do?" Lisa asked, walking over to him. She looked up at him through her long eyelashes while sliding her hands under his shirt. Jayce felt shockwaves of pleasure run through his body from her soft hands on his skin.
"I don't want to do anything that will offend you or make you leave." He said breathlessly as she ran her hands over his abdomen and chest.
"You said what you don't want to do. I asked what do you want to do." Lisa wasn't letting him off the hook. She needed to hear him say he wanted her as much as she wanted him. She could feel the effect she was having on him, and it excited her.
"I want to take you into the bedroom, lay you on my bed, and make slow sweet love to you," Jayce said softly, staring into her eyes. Lisa shivered in excitement. Sliding her hands onto his back, she grabbed the bottom of his shirt and pulled it over his head. Leaning forward and kissing his chest, he moaned.
"I want that too," Lisa replied while placing kisses on him. Jayce was getting too excited too fast. He lifted her up and carried her into the bedroom but stopped before they got to the bed.
"I don't have any condoms," Jayce said regretfully. Lisa leaned over and nibbled on his earlobe, making his eyes roll back in his head.
"We don't need birth control. I'm a werelion, so I can only get pregnant when I go into heat." She giggled at the stunned look on his face.
"What do you mean, heat?" Jayce asked. All he could think about was a dog or cat going into heat and humping everything in sight.
"When it's time for me to get pregnant, I'll go into heat for a few days. When that happens, you and I will be locked in a bedroom having sex non-stop. I will only go into heat after we mark each other. I didn't just freak you out, did I?" Lisa asked as she saw he had a faraway look on his face.
"No. I was picturing us being locked in a room together for a few days. Sounds pretty good to me." Jayce once again wondered why anyone wouldn't want to be a shifter. He hadn't heard anything that would make him want to stay human.
"Well, why don't we start practicing, or are you going to stand here and hold me all night? I think it's time we put that bed to good use." Lisa squealed when he tossed her onto the bed. She couldn't stop laughing as he began tickling her. She twisted and turned, trying to escape.
"Is this what you had in mind about putting the bed to use?" Jayce asked as he continued to tickle her. Lisa had tears running down her face as she laughed.
"No. Please stop." She said breathlessly.
"Okay, then you better tell me what you want, my lioness." Jayce leaned down and kissed hard. When he pulled away, Lisa smiled up at him.
"I want you."
