BK 5 - Chapter 36 - Dinner and More

Dexter pulled into the parking lot of his favorite pizza shop. It was smaller than the big chain places. When he parked, he looked at Raylee and smiled. He really hoped she agreed to be his mate.

"Are you okay?" She asked. Even though they had kissed several times and spent a few hours together, she was still in awe of Dexter. She had wanted to meet him for a long time. She was amazed that he was interested in her; she had always been seen as one of the guys.

"Everything is perfect. Are you ready to eat?" He asked just as he received a text message. He read it and felt his face getting hot.

*Hey cousin. Jamie and I saw you with a girl, and you looked pretty close. Did you find your mate?* He responded quickly before putting his phone in his pocket.

*Yes. Getting ready to tell her.*

"Yes, I'm starving," Raylee replied, wondering who texted him and why his face was so red.

"Good." Dexter started to get out of the car and then stopped. He turned to Raylee and pulled her over next to him. "I'm really glad I met you today."

He put his mouth on hers and started kissing her softly. It quickly got deeper, and when she slid her hand under his shirt, he knew he had to stop.

"I'm glad I met you, too," Raylee said, rubbing her hand up and down his back.

When they got into the pizza shop, it wasn't too crowded, and Dexter requested a corner booth in the back, away from everyone else. After they ordered, he took a deep breath. It may not be the smartest move to tell her what he needed in a public place, but he wanted to get it done before they went any further.

"I have something I need to talk to you about." He said softly. Raylee heard his nervousness and moved over so she was sitting against him.

"Okay," She replied, taking his hand. Whatever it was, Raylee was sure it wasn't bad. The waiter brought their pizza over and refilled their drinks. Neither took a slice, though.

"I'm not what I appear to be. There are people in this world who look one way, but they're actually something else." Dexter started slowly. Raylee looked at him in confusion.

"I don't understand." She said, studying his face. He looked terrified.

"Have you seen the movies with vampires and werewolves?" He asked.

"Yes," Raylee was even more confused. Where was he going with this?

"What if I told you that all of that isn't fake? Some parts of it are true." Dexter was sure she was going to start laughing or run out of the pizza shop, saying he was crazy, but she didn't move or laugh.

"What parts?" Raylee asked as her heart sped up. Could it be true?

"The part about there being vampires and people who can change into animals. That part is true." Dexter watched her expression, and her eyes shined with excitement.

"Are you serious?" He nodded, and Raylee smiled. "I'm addicted to those movies. I always hoped it was real because I wanted to be like them. Maybe then I would be more than just a gamer girl. Do you know some of these people? Can I meet them?"

Dexter was the one with his mouth open. He never dreamt she would take it so well. It took him a minute to respond.

"You're sitting with one right now. Raylee, I'm a vampire." She squealed with excitement and then slapped her hand over her mouth when she realized she'd gotten the attention of the other diners. She doubted Dexter went around advertising what he was.

"How are you out in the daylight, and are you able to eat garlic?" Raylee asked, preparing to move the pizza away from him. Dexter burst out laughing.

"That's Hollywood's spin on us. The truth is we're all around, but humans just don't know. I have no problem eating garlic and can be in the sunlight just fine. Are you really okay with this? I thought I was going to have to prove it somehow." Dexter said, getting them each a slice of pizza and placing them on their plates. He was ready to eat now that the hardest part was over. Hopefully, she'd take being his mate just as well.

"I'm going to be honest. It's a little unbelievable, but from the time I was a little girl, I'd had a fascination with the supernatural world. I would imagine a vampire or werewolf sweeping me off my feet and telling me they would love me forever. For you to tell me it's real is a dream come true. Wait a minute. Why are you telling me? Do you tell everyone you meet?" Raylee took a bite of her pizza and closed her eyes. It was delicious. When she looked at Dexter, he shifted in his seat as though he were uncomfortable.

"No, I've never told anyone. I'm telling you because those sparks we feel when we touch mean that you're my mate. If you accept me as your mate, then I will mark you, and you'll become a vampire, too." Raylee put her hand over her mouth before she squealed again. She looked at Dexter in disbelief. Not only were vampires and werewolves real, but she could become one, too, and be with Dexter.

She turned to face him completely, then threw her arms around his neck. When he felt her crying against him, he pulled back to look at her face.

"What's wrong?" He kissed her mouth gently as she dried her tears.

"You're the first person who has actually seen me for me. Now, knowing that everything I had always wished for was true is just too much. Even when my aunt was alive, I was alone. I don't make friends easily because I'm not girly enough for girls, and guys just see me as a joke." Raylee's tears started falling again. Dexter pulled her across his lap and wrapped his arms around her.

"You're not girly because you're all woman, and you're not a joke. You're beautiful, smart, and funny, and I'm already falling in love with you." Dexter wiped away her tears and kissed her lightly.

"So what happens when you make me like you?" Raylee asked, looking up into his beautiful green eyes.

"You'll feel sick for a couple of days, and then you'll be a vampire. Unlike the movies, we don't typically change anyone other than our mate. We have our own blood supplies, so we don't have to drink from a human. You and I will be together forever." She giggled and peppered his face with kisses.

"Really? I can be with you forever? What about your family? Are they like you, too?" She asked.

"My parents are and my siblings. Most of our family are werelions, but we also have tigers, wolves, panthers, bears, witches, and I'm sure there are others I can't think of. Our family is enormous, as you saw in the pictures. When you meet them tomorrow, trust me, you'll quickly feel like one of us. So, what do you think about becoming a vampire?" Dexter rubbed his hand on her back. Raylee turned to him, wiggling on his lap. She whispered in his ear so no one else could hear.

"I want you to mark me and make me a vampire, but not until after the party tomorrow. I don't want to feel sick while we're there. Dexter, can we do other things while I'm still human?" Raylee moved against him again and smiled when she felt him pushing against her bottom. He swallowed when he realized what she was talking about.

"Yes, but only if you want to." He said, trying to control his growing erection. Raylee wasn't helping by moving her bottom against him.

"I want to. Where do you live?" She asked, sucking on his ear lobe. Dexter tried not to moan out loud.

"I live with my parents." He was going to start looking for a place right away, though. There was no way he was going to have his mom, dad, and siblings spying on him and Raylee.

"I'm in a dorm, but it's pretty small." She said. Dexter looked into her eyes.

"Would you be willing to go to a hotel with me?" Raylee giggled.

"I'm willing to let you bite my neck and make me a vampire, so yeah, I'm good with going to a hotel. Let's get our pizza to go." She said, sucking on his ear lobe again before sliding off his lap. She smirked when she looked down and saw the tent in his pants. Dexter definitely didn't see her as one of the guys.

After paying for their food, they got into the car and drove to the closest hotel. It was a decent place, but neither cared how it looked all they wanted was each other. They took the gift for Grandma Valerie and their pizza in with them.

"Shoot, I forgot protection," Dexter said as he shut the door. Raylee wrapped her arms around him.

"No need. I'm on the pill. They give it to us at the campus health clinic if we want it, and I thought it wouldn't hurt." She pulled his mouth to hers and pushed her tongue between his lips. Dexter moaned in pleasure. Raylee pulled back with a smile. Now that she knew he was all hers, she was going to take full advantage of his shyness.

She pushed him next to the bed and pulled her shirt off. Before Dexter knew what was happening, she was in nothing but her bra and panties. He didn't know where to look, and she started giggling.

"We're getting ready to have sex. I think you can look at me." Raylee said. She loved his awkwardness. Dexter's face turned even redder when his eyes roamed over her body. The jeans and baggy T-shirt she had worn had covered up the work of art he was looking at. She was small but not too thin, with curves in all the right places. He was getting harder the more he stared at her.

"You're so beautiful," Dexter said, rubbing his hands over her shoulders and down her arms. Raylee had never had anyone say she was beautiful. She was ready to shove him on the bed and jump his bones for that alone.

Raylee didn't say anything as she pulled his shirt over his head and tossed it on the floor. She couldn't believe how muscular he was. She would have never beleive what he was hiding under his clothes. The brain of a genius and the body of a god. Raylee ran her hands over him, mesmerized by his bumpy abs and smooth skin.

She unfastened his jeans and slid them down his legs. Dexter kicked them aside, standing in front of her in nothing but his dark gray boxers. Raylee could already tell he was going to be big, and she hadn't even uncovered his secret weapon. Just as she was about to remove his last piece of clothing, his phone rang.

"I'll ignore it," Dexter said. There was no one he wanted to talk to. Raylee laughed, reached into his jeans, and pulled out his phone, handing it to him.

"It may be important." She said with a smile. Dexter looked at the screen and saw it was his mom. He should have texted her and said he wouldn't be home, but his mind was elsewhere.

"It's my mom. Give me just a minute."

"Hey, mom," Dexter said sitting on the edge of the bed. Raylee climbed behind him and ran her hands over his back.

"Is everything okay? I didn't think you'd be out this late." Jade asked worriedly. She knew how much her son disliked shopping.

"I, uh, met my mate." He said, glancing at Raylee. She smiled and kissed his back. He shivered from the sensation.

"What? You met your mate? What's her name? Is she human, a shifter, a vampire, or something else? Does she know what you are? Did she accept you?" Dexter pulled the phone away from his ear and put it on speaker. He and Raylee chuckled at his mom's excitement.

"Her name is Raylee, she's human, she knows I'm a vampire, and she accepted me. I met her at the mall, and she helped me pick out the perfect gift for Grandma Valerie. Everyone will meet her tomorrow at the party." Dexter answered.

"Are you going to bring her home with you tonight?" Jade asked. Dexter rolled his eyes.

"No way. She lives in the dorms at Sacramento State, but tonight, we're staying in a hotel." Dexter pulled Raylee onto his lap so she was straddling him. It was time for his mom to hang up.

"Okay, that's probably better. Come home for breakfast. I'll make your favorite. I can't wait to meet her. Love you."

"Love you too mom." Dexter hung up, and Raylee looked at the phone in envy. She never had anyone care about her the way Jade cared about Dexter.

"Just so you know, more people will probably join us for breakfast than just my immediate family. Everyone will know I found my mate within the next hour." Raylee removed her bra and pushed Dexter onto his back.

"Fine with me. I'm looking forward to meeting them. Right now, I want to play with your secret weapon." Dexter looked at her in confusion, and she reached into his boxers to pull out his hard penis. Her eyes widened in shock. A secret weapon, indeed.
