Mirabelle's POV continues
My head shakes in response, my body unmoving as well.
“What the fuck is with the yelling?”
That voice comes from the other entrance, it's Luna Charity. Camilla's annoyance at the sound of her voice is audible and loud, “Shut the fuck up.”
Luna Charity rolls her eyes, her feet approaching Camilla while she stares her down. Her hands reach for Camilla's head and pull on her hair, Camilla's defence is quick. She slaps Charity's hands away and grabs her by the hair. Swinging her and tossing her to the door she came in and followed her, no one speaks a word to her no so they move. It seems Alpha Hayden's guards only ever move under his command only, with a snap of his fingers.
Camilla's hands reach on the ground, her hand grabbing a chain and a blade sitting dominantly on the ground. Charity scans Camilla, discerning the blade and chain she pushes her body back against the wall. Camilla pauses, looking over her shoulder to a struggling Alpha Hayden. “You wanted to make Belle watch me die right?” she giggles, her gaze shifting between him and the weapons in her hand. “Well, how about you watch this little overzealous bitch die right now?” she pouts, kicking at Luna Charity's feet.
“No, no, please...Hayden do something.” she screams, her gaze searching desperately for her husband.
“Beg me on your knees.” Camilla whispers softly, Charity's jaw drops, her gaze stuck on Camilla.“Which one should I use?” she giggles, turning to me. When she sees me, her eyes light up. A dark light that sends more chills down my spine. “ Belle, which one do you prefer?” she pouts, watching me with an indistinct reaction.
I don't respond, my blood is running cold, I don't recognize Camilla. I can't figure out what is going on with her, I've always known what she was up to but now, I'm lost. She examines both weapons in her hands, “It's the chain right? Yeah?”
No words are said, Camilla drops the blade and
Kneels to meet Luna Charity, the chain in her hand wrapping around her throat with all Camilla's might.
“Hayden!” Luna Charity cries out, distress filling her.
“Please stop it... Stop.” Alpha Hayden lets out, snapping his fingers. His guards act quick to help him off the ground and she chuckles. “When I begged you to let my Belle go, you ignored me. So why should I hear your cry Alpha Hayden? I had asked you nicely but no, and you're commanding me not asking politely so my answer is no too.” she snarls, her hands tugging roughly at the chain once again. The friction is audible for everyone to hear.
“No, this isn't who you are Camilla, you're not like him.” I whisper, my voice barely audible to her but I know she hears me because she shakes her head. Alpha Hayden's Beta enters, saying something on his phone before it drops, grabbing Camilla's attention.
The distraction is enough for someone to hit Camilla on the head, making her lose complete control of the chain around Charity's neck. Those strong enough to flee have long fleed and those here are once again being attacked by Alpha Hayden's men. Alpha Hayden grabs a sword, stumbling forward. His Beta assesses the surroundings, unable to grasp the situation and honestly I don't blame him, I've been here the entire time and I still can't grasp what is going on here.
Camilla's hands go to her head, catching a droplet of blood from the side of her face. My vision blurs, my hands reaching for my head to touch the spot where pain exudes. My ears ringing instantly as I stare back at Camilla, wide eyed.
Camilla grips the leg of Alpha Hayden's right hand and tugs on it, dropping him on the floor. She crotches over his body and grabs his weapon, a large blade which she plunges into him before he can counter. Blood splutters on her face and I scream, looking away from the sight. Camilla's laughter begins to echo the room as she rises, spinning in a circle. I call her in an attempt to stop the maniac madness she's fallen into but my statements fall on deaf ears. Everyone is trying to tackle her steps back, giving her enough time to grab Luna Charity. Camilla flickers the large blade between her fingers in a way that seems familiar, she lifts her hands and plunges into Luna Charity's chest. I gasp at the first stab, at the same time Charity screams.
Camilla drags the blade a little deeper, someone sneaks up behind her and she snorts, her hands lifting the blade above her shoulder and her back declining until the blade is plummeted into her attacker's thigh, making him cry out, his iron bar stick dropping on the floor. Camilla acts quick, taking advantage of every opening she can get. Her hands reach for the iron bar and then she begins to swing, swinging it in random directions as if it has no weight to it.
It's like she's gone deaf and crazy altogether. As I'm watching her, an arrow plunges into her arm, making her gasp silently and waver in her trail. Her eyes travel to the arm where an arrow now sticks out, her gaze roaming to find who it was that dared to take a swing at her. A growl of disapproval echoes from her, at the same time I see Alpha Hayden slinging a tiny blade at Camilla.
The blade doesn't make it to her, Beta catches it in his right hand, the blade cutting through his hand when he does. Alpha Hayden grunts in annoyance, “Goddamn Kingston!” he yells, his fists punching the air in fury at Beta's act. The sound of cages slamming and disapproving whines from the prisoners we found here louder than anything he can say.
“Tee was so fucking right, the moment you lose focus you lose everything.” Camilla stumbles, her hand reaching for the arrow stabbed into her arms. She pulls it out without flinching, blood gushing from the now open wound.
“Fuck.” she curses, her eyes discerning the blood oozing from her wound. She stares at the arrow in her hand and shrugs a little, jabbing it back into her open wound. I flinch at the sight, my eyes closing momentarily and my ears awaiting the famous 'Camilla scream.' However, it doesn't come, the scream never escapes her lips, Camilla makes no sound, the only sound I hear from her is a giggle and the sound of what I presume is another body hitting the ground which makes me open my eyes.
I gasp at the sight, Alpha Hayden bas leaped on top of Camilla, pinning her hands to the ground as she struggles in clear discomfort. Even then, there's no fear in her eyes but I feel it within me, I feel it on every inch of my body. Fear of what he plans to do to Camilla begins to sink in just as someone hits Alpha Hayden across the head with a hard steel bar, knocking him off Camilla.
My gaze rises to check the handler to the steel bar, the person I'm secretly grateful too for saving Camilla from Hayden's approaching wrath. He looked like a mad man from the moment that Camilla plunged that blade into his luna. I'm shocked by who it is, Beta.
Once again, Beta has saved Camilla from Alpha Hayden. It's then that everything gets crazier, Alpha Hayden's men begin to attack both Camilla and Beta, surrounding them like hunters circling their prey. I stay unmoving until the feel of a hand wrapping around my throat and pulling me back into a hard chest makes my skin crawl in anxiety.
“Camilla!” I wail, my eyes fluttering shut in an instant. Camilla doesn't respond to me though, instead a number of groans echo my scream.
My eyes slowly blink open, afraid of seeing Camilla's dead body and thankfully I don't see it. What I see is the opposite, Camilla bashing Alpha Hayden's head with a sledgehammer that I didn't see her or any of his men grabbing. She begins to hit him on the head with it, blood splattering from his mouth and head to the floor when she does. Alpha Hayden cries out, unable to stop her from disfiguring him. The sound of his cries dies out but that doesn't stop her, Camilla is like a possessed woman. She's a mad woman at work, she continues to hit him, the sounds of friction from his head colliding with the hammer not irking her at all. She lifts the hammer and rests it beside, only to pick it up a second later and hit Alpha Hayden's now lifeless body. A loud crack is heard around the room, a buckload of crimson splashing all over Camilla's face and coating the floors harder.
My gaze withdraws from the scenery instantly, my eyes shutting and body stiffening in the shivering arms deterring me. I just saw Alpha Hayden's cursed skull, Camilla crushed his skull. She's covered in blood, the man holding me with shivering hands is going to kill me.
Camilla not only overpowered an Alpha, she killed his luna and proceeded to kill him in the most nerve-wracking method I've ever seen. I've watched my brother kill, his methods are slow and torturous but this, this is a new level of Mania I've witnessed.
But, is it really real?
Camilla doesn't kill people, Camilla is innocuous so this must be a dream–nightmare. Yes, this is a nightmare, I'm going to wake up and it'll all be gone, all of it will be extinct when I awake.
But no, Camilla is standing in front of me, drenched in the blood of an Alpha and his people, this isn't a dream, it can't be a dream. She's here, her bloodshot eyes are cast over my shoulder to my captor.
“Leave.her.alone.” someone growls over my shoulder, the tone has a no nonsense effect to it, all humor dead to it.
The trembling hands holding me disappear, the sound of feet running echoing in my earshot. “Belle, I said run, dammit I said get out of here!” Camilla screams, my attention drawing to the hammer in her hands dripping with blood, just like her clothes. My vision begins to blur, darkness consuming me as I fall to my assumed death, but it never comes.
