Mirabelle's POV

Mirabelle's POV

My birthday is in two days and I have the party planner coming over. His name is Yaqui. He is the most popular and on demand planner because his work is exquisite but very pricey. My mom can't make it back home for my birthday because of some haven she's confined herself to for peace and quiet before she returns home. When she does return, she will be handling all her duties over to Camilla and relaxation will be the only thing she does which is why she is learning the art.

My mom is always doing something, she feels useless when she's relaxing so I think this retreat will work wonders for her. I wanted to be the one to tell her about Camilla but Adrian beat me to it, he is so proud of the spectacle he created when he marked her that he's telling the world. Mother and mom were upset with him for not telling them about this sooner, they would have put everything down and come back but they also appreciated that he called them before the news was everywhere.

Yaqui is coming over to go through the plans one last time before my birthday to show me his 3D representation of what it should and will look like and honestly, I am excited to see what he'll do with it all.

Rachael, Molly and Camilla are supposed to be with us during this meeting, especially Camilla seeing as Yaqui loved her and she was there throughout the planning, at one point I almost didn't want to have a Halloween party but Yaqui convinced me it was fine, it would be classic, nothing cliche about it if we don't overdo it and keep the theme exclusively to the dress code.

I've been looking for Camilla all morning, I couldn't find her in her room but her phone was there, just laying on the bed she should have been in. I don't know why Camilla has a phone when she never uses it for anything, even her social media is drier than the Sahara Desert. I put my search for Camilla off until after breakfast with Molly, we had breakfast at her house before coming back here.

In the kitchen, a group of girls are gathered, doing lord knows what but my curiosity drags me there. Rachael is sitting calmly beside them and Molly's laughter is echoing from where she is. Rachael can't be bothered with anything and it worries me sometimes, but that's her way of copying with her pain I guess. I cross my hands over my chest and clear my throat, “Isn't it too early in the morning for gossip?”

Everyone turns to look at me in a warning manner but I don't falter, I match their expressions until one of them speaks, Monika. “Just say you're mad we started without you.” She chuckles.

Well sort of but I'm not interested in this gossip, I have a birthday to plan. I arch my eyebrow at Molly and she shrugs, leaning back in her chair. “We are talking about Adrian.”

I roll my eyes in response, Adrian is a never ending topic around here and rightfully so, he rules the place now. “Okay, you have ten minutes to gossip Molly, we have a meeting and Camilla isn't anywhere to be seen.”

Candy giggles, leaning against Monika. “Oh we haven't seen her but... I heard her, twice.”

I tilt my head, confusion roaming my expression. Some of them giggle once again, “Camilla slept in Alpha's room, isn't that great? They're okay again.” Tina smiles, ah sweet innocent Tina.

Everyone is swooning over Camilla and Adrian with jealousy but excitement because their Alpha found their Luna, so Camilla and Adrian are basically Mom and Dad around here. I snicker at the thought, “Glad everyone is happy about their relationship but..” I say drifting my eyes to Angel sitting across the table. “Be a little considerate to some people.”

“Come on, Angel lost that game long ago. Sorry Angel, you did look good together but they're better.” Candy hisses, causing a smile to sneak on my lips.

Angel rolls her eyes, “I don't lose to anyone, I'm just done with Adrian.” She says, causing laughter to erupt through the room. Angel is running through her teeth and no one is buying it, she can't go from one day to another without thinking of Adrian. When the laughter dies out I turn back to the group, Olive is smiling. “As exciting as this is, she's too naive for this pack.”

She's wrong but I don't tell her that, the glare from Rachael is enough for them to swallow all thoughts about Camilla being incompetent. I watch their conversation shift to some other pack gossip, a hot boy that just returned from boarding school, now that's refreshing. I can simp over him with them unlike all the other times, my brothers are the main topic.

However, I love how respectful they are. When Summer and Martin made official appearances together, everyone stopped swooning over Martin in a way that would make Summer feel insecure and jealous.

Camilla makes her way into the kitchen, she's freshly dressed with a shit load of perfume on her. She's with Michelle and her son in a pram, they seem to have been out somewhere.

They go straight to the refrigerator and Michelle pulls out a strawberry, while Camilla talks to the baby. Michelle picks another strawberry, poking it with her finger, she pushes two small pills inside it before handing it to Camilla who chews it whole and takes the other one from Michelle.

So that's how Camilla drinks medicine, weird. Rachael nudges me, “Yaqui is outside now.”

“Molly, Yaqui.” I say turning to Molly before drifting my gaze to Camilla, who has her nephew's bottle in her hand.

“Hey,” She grins.

Angel snarls leaving the table dramatically and my jaw drops open as I study her. “Oh my God.” I whisper, “That perfume isn't masking Adrian's scent on you.” Her eyes widen and I laugh. Camilla often smells like him when she's here but right now, his scent is prominently masking her own, there is little of Camilla and more of Adrian on her. It's the first time she's smelled like this, I wonder if-

“They didn't, everyone would know if they did.” Someone says from behind me, it's Michelle. I raise my hands and shake my head to indicate I wasn't thinking of it.
