Camilla's POV continues

******

It's been minutes, perhaps hours but I feel like it's been days since I started pushing this baby out. I don't think she wants to come into this world, I don't blame her but it's hurting me, my throat is raw, my screams now hoarse. I just wanted to come not this, I hate Adrian, he did this to me.

I take a deep breath, exhaling as I push but still, nothing.“You are doing so good Camilla,” Tee praises, for the hundredth time.

“God I swear I will never have sex again, just take her out please.”

“You're being lazy Bear, push her out, even thirteen year olds do it, you've got this, you can do it, come on.”

“I hate him,” I cry out, squeezing her hand. “I hate Adrian!”

“We all do honey, but push.” she counters.

I do it, I push long and hard but the baby doesn't come out. Maya and Mirabelle switch places, with Mirabelle now in my view. “Baby,” Arielle begins. “You've got this.”

I shake my head, opening my mouth to speak but I can't, I'm overthrown by a sneeze, my body relaxing.

“Yes!” Maya screams.

“You did it Camilla,” Mirabelle sobs.

I did it? My head drops, my hold on Arielle and Tee's hands still right.

“You did it princess,” Arielle grins down at me.

“So proud of you bear,” Tee sobs, I frown, blinking back tears of my own. I did it, I pushed a baby out, I delivered a baby. I laugh to myself but only then does it click, I had a baby and that baby should be crying, but I didn't hear a sound, all sounds I have heard are far from a baby's cry.

I look up, “Wait, why..” I trail off, my worst fears beginning to sink in. “Why isn't she crying?” I ask, my eyes Maya holding the baby in her hands, Belle with a pair of scissors next to her.

Maya pauses, looking down at the baby, the world stops for a minute, I feel drained, lifeless with a huge lump in my throat. A tiny high pitched sound brings me back to the now, my eyes opening with a gasp of relief, “Oh God.” I exclaim, listening to her cry.

The tears continue to fall, not because I can't feel my legs or anything, but because I did it, she didn't die on my watch, I didn't fail to bring her into this world like I feared I had a few seconds ago.

“You did,” Arielle whispers, placing the wailing child on my chest.

“That too quickly,” one of the nurses remarked.

I smile, my gaze on Tee, she's happy. I've never seen her so proud of me, the pride in her eyes, it beats every time she see me snap out of character. The nurse said I was quick when I've been in here for what feels like forever, Kingston had come in and Mirabelle out and they swapped again. Tee had to go out too but she came back as well.

“How are you feeling now?” Belle asks, smirking down at me with the baby's cord in her hand.

“I feel numb,” I laugh, but not too hard.

“It will pass in a few years, I mean days.” Arielle smiles, caressing my forehead.

Trying to look down at the baby, I fail, so I look at Maya instead, “Why is she crying?”

Everyone laughs, but that doesn't answer my question.

“Did you forget it's all they do?” Tee asks, “You used to be a babysitter.”

“She's got a strong set of lungs on her, just like you.” Maya remarks.

I smile, of course she does. The nurse whispers something to Arielle and she takes the baby off my chest, leaving me empty already. The baby gets cleaned up while I finish up too, the placenta an easier push than she was. Arielle helps me up, sending Tee to go downstairs and eat now that I've finally had the baby but Tee is adamant on staying.

There's a knock on the door. Belle goes to open it while I make myself comfortable next to Tee. I just had a bath and the baby is with the nurse, getting a change of clothes because she shitted her first diaper already.

“Come in,” I hear Belle say.

Kingston walks in, Hades behind him, both walking in like there's eggshells on the floor. I look at Tiana, flustered at the sight of Hades. I honestly forgot he was here, Arielle called him in here but he lasted three seconds before he ran out in fear.

“Hey,” Kingston whispers.

“Still no baby?” Hades asks,

Kingston:"still no baby"

Before anyone responds, one of the nurses comes out of the bathroom with the baby in her arms, she's wrapped in the baby pink blanket Sheryl bought and probably dressed in an outfit bought by Kingston or Arielle. Putting her strong lungs as Maya described them to use.

“Oh my God,” Kingston's face lights up, his gaze shifting from me to the baby in the nurse's arms. “Can I hold her?”

“One second, then I'm next, again.” Tiana warns with a smile.

Kingston nods, holding his arms out for the baby. The nurse places her in his arms and he cradles her gently, her crying beginning to quiet down a little. “Wow, she looks nothing like you.” he snorts, his declaration making Hades peek over to the baby.

I can't argue that statement because I haven't seen her face yet, I'm trying not to look at her. I don't think I'll be able to without breaking down in tears, I can't parent her, she's not my baby anymore, I had an agreement with Arielle.

“True,” Hades smiles, his gaze on the baby.

“Pff,” Tiana snorts, “Well, that's her loss, Bear is beautiful.” she says, hugging me and I hold her hand.

Hades looks over to us and smiles but quickly looks back at the baby. Kingston gives the baby to Hades and she calms down instantly, not a single sound is heard from her. I nudge Tiana who blushes more so after seeing Hades holding the baby, whispering something to him with Kingston.

I don't understand how all my brother's like Kingston knowing full well I have a sexual interest in him, isn't it a law or something? Brothers hate the man banging their sister?

“I have the birth certificate ready, what's her name?” the nurse asks.

“Camilla,” Arielle urges.

“Isn't she your baby Arielle?” Mirabelle asks.

There it is, a stab in the heart, this is why I didn't want to hold her, I don't want it to hurt when Arielle takes her away.

“I want you to name her,” Arielle tells me.

Hades brings the baby over, putting her in Tiana's arms who holds her like a professional, of course she is, we've handled a lot of babies.

“Look at her, that name is perfect for her.” she whispers to me, smiling down at the baby. I follow her gaze, trembling beside her. King was right, she doesn't look anything like me, she's absolutely perfect. My eyes begin to fall heavily but I fight to keep them up just to get a glimpse at her. She's got pretty privilege even after coming out of the womb barely an hour ago, she looks adorable, a smile on as Tee shushes her to sleep.

“Say it,” Tiana urges, knowing exactly what name I have thought of for my first child since meeting her father but looking at her now, it suits her, every name will be pretty attached to her.

“I will leave the birth certificate here but Alpha, you need to rest.” Maya tells me, diverting my attention to her.

“I'm okay,” I yawn.

“So, what's the baby's name?”

I blink, staring at the baby, she's calm. She's peaceful and I'm an asshole, I'm an idiot, and I'm a monster for wanting to cut her life short before it even began. Belle made the right decision, I'll never be able to thank her enough for it, seeing the baby now. How can someone be so perfect, so tiny but warm every part of my being. She brings a stability I haven't known existed until now, that is.

Looking up at Tiana I smile, finally uttering the word she so desperately needed me to say. “Lauriana,” I breathe, a smile forming on my lips as I name her, naming her by who I think she resembles most and it suits her, a pretty name for a beautiful girl.

Belle didn't speak about who she resembles because she didn't want to hurt my feelings but we both know it, her father's genes have reflected hard in her appearance.
