Mirabelle's POV continues
I roll my eyes, “You claim to love Camilla more than anything but right now it doesn't seem like it, you are choosing the result of your infidelity over her. I'm sorry but that's what it is, couldn't you have just knocked the right woman up? Anyway, it's fine you made your pick now let her make hers.”
He sighs, backing away from me. I shake my head, watching him as he disappears into the hallway. I know it's wrong to hate a child especially when that child has not been born yet but screw me, I loathe the idea of Adrian and Angel having a baby. Angel will do everything in her power to ensure her child comes in between Camilla and Adrian, I'm surprised she's even lasted this long with her pregnancy.
An Alpha's baby doesn't come easy to omega's especially when that omega lost her wolf long ago. They must have tried real hard for this end result considering Adrian's mate is Camilla. Hunter would never let his seed be planted elsewhere but Adrian is too dense to note the consequences of his actions beforehand.
My hand grips the doorknob and twists it open, my gaze lands on Camilla, thankfully she's still asleep. Her hair tossed in a mess above her head, the strands longer compared to when she returned weeks ago. My feet tip-toe inside, carefully not to wake her when I grab her phone off the bed next to her.
I dial Luna Arielle as I walk to the bathroom, to speak to her without waking Camilla up. Luna Arielle answers on the second ring, “Good morning, my baby.” she jeers.
“Hey, it's Belle.”
“Oh, Belle baby, how are you?”
I grin at the warmth in her voice, “I'm not okay, that's actually the reason I'm calling. Camilla isn't doing okay and I think it would do her some good to see you or her mom today”
“Oh, but-” she says, sighing audibly at the sound of her son crying. “I can't come that far, Liam has a cold so he's extra fussy.”
“Don't worry, I will bring her to you. She needs the fresh air.”'
“Okay baby, see you.” she says, making a kissing sound before the line goes dead.
At the exact moment, my stomach growls. I had forgotten breakfast existed with all the chaos that has been going on this morning. I've been frustrated to a T. My hand grips the doorknob once again, slowly pulling it until the door is wide enough for me to slip out of. My feet take very calculated steps when I make it out the bathroom with insufficient sound in my actions. I know Camilla is a light sleeper when she isn't in Adrian's arms hence the exaggerated tiptoe strategy.
Finally, I make it to the kitchen, my stomach growling with distress from being neglected all day long. The aroma of freshly baked cupcakes flares up my nostrils, causing an involuntary growl to escape me. My feet move towards the smell, ignoring everyone in the kitchen. Michelle is the one baking, her son strapped to her back as cute little snores escape him. “Hey.” I whisper, scared if I'm too loud I might wake her son up despite the noise in the kitchen.
I must admit, I love how she works a nine to five job but still finds time to be with her son and cater to her other duties. Speaking of duties, I know she is one of Adrian's most trusted pack members.
“Elle can I ask you something?” I ask, my hand stretching out to receive the cupcake she offers me.
“Yea,” she nods, her gaze shifting back to the cupcake's she is icing.
“Did you know about Angel?” I murmur, bringing the cupcake to my mouth. My teeth take a chunk of it, I don't know if I'm just hungry or Michelle is nearly as good of a baker as Arielle, if not better. The appreciative moment my mouth takes when I taste the cupcake is short-lived, my gaze settles on Michelle, waiting for her reaction. She doesn't give me more than a sigh, her cupcake adorning not coming to a halt. “Why didn't you te-”
Michelle drops the sprinkles, interrupting me mid sentence. “Look here Belle, I'm a doctor, I don't disclose about my patients and I'm bound to obey Alpha's requests.”
“Camilla is your sister!” I whisper yell.
“Let's not play dumb, here yes she's blood but this pack is family to me and you know she's not cut out to be a Luna. At least not with that bullshit she plays out.”
Bullshit? What bullshit does she want,
“Angel and Adrian are better off together and Camilla seems to be the third wheel in this whole absurdity. I told Camilla she's not meant for him, Alpha won't be able to refuse Angel anything after this. I can tell he would give anything for that baby to be Camilla's and his but that's not the case, it's Angel's baby. I suggest she leave Adrian and Angel to their bullshit but she will forgive him like she always does.”
I nod, my nose wrinkling, “But—she'll end up hurt, Angel will make sure of it and I -”
Michelle shakes her head and I pause, her fingers coming to her mouth to lick the icing off them. “You will do nothing, no one can protect her from this. That baby is forever, she will have to learn to live with evidence of her mate's infidelity everyday, taunting her every single day and knowing how petty Camilla is, they'll surely pay one way or another.”
“Camilla isn't petty.” I interject.
“You just don't know it but she is, she's just as petty as Tee. She always settles the score and you don't even notice she has, but she knows it. When she decides to get back at those two, it'll be a show.”
I sigh, backing away from the kitchen counter. Michelle echoes my sigh, stretching out her hand to offer me another cupcake. “Hey, don't think I don't care about her because I do, she's my little sister and you're a good friend but I advice you stay out of this matter it doesn't concern anyone that isn't Angel, Camilla or Adrian.”
I nod, reaching to take the cupcake with a smile. I guess Michelle is right, I can't leap into this matter because I know the sensitivity of it but I also can't sit around and watch. I know for a fact that Angel will rub her pregnancy in Camilla 's face and once she has the baby, she will continue to use the child to get between them. Her obsession with Adrian isn't healthy, it's sickening and shouldn't be there in the first place.
