Adrian's POV continues
**************
11:00 pm and I'm balls deep in Angel's pussy when a loud bang graces my office door, I grunt pulling out and she lets out a sigh of relief, dropping her head on the couch. I put on my jeans while Angel is still laying there catching her breath when another bang comes through. “Get dressed, whatever Santiago wants, he won't leave soon.” I say sliding on my T-shirt.
Santiago has it for me, he has developed the unhealthy habit of ruining my sex life and I don't like it one bit, neither do I like how horny I got from watching a girl eat and lick pizza sauce off her fingers.
When Angel finally pulls her dress up and I open the door, Mirabelle is standing on the other end, she nearly knocked on my chest when I opened the door. With her is Camilla, my eyes dart between her and Mirabelle. Why are they here? And at this late hour. “What's going on?”
“This.” Mirabelle glares at Camilla, who is awfully aware of her surroundings, looking here and there in search of something. I close the door behind me and sigh. Mirabelle looks enraged and Camilla scared. It doesn't take a genius to understand why they are wearing the expressions they are right now.
“Take her.” Mirabelle growls preying Camilla off her arm, when she succeeds she moves her towards me. Camilla instantly withdraws from me.
“I love her but I swear to God she is making me wish I was dead right now. I can't take it, she is screaming and clutching to my body like a tick to a dog and I can't have that, I have last minute assignments tomorrow morning in case you forgot, Monday is school!” She bursts.
“So why are you bringing her to me like some five year old that had a nightmare and needs her daddy to check for monsters under the bed?” I ask, matching her tone.
“Glad you asked...” She smiles. “See I'm her friend not her mate, if anyone should lose sleep it should be you, her mate not me. I'm just her best friend.” She deadpans.
I have to blink twice to process what she just said, I clearly warned Michelle to ensure Camilla doesn't reveal that information to anyone but look what we have here.
“Don't look at me like that I'm not stupid and it doesn't take a genius to notice the connection between you two. If you were so keen on keeping it a secret, you shouldn't have eye fucked her so much. And also aiming to evade her only makes it so obvious.”
“Look, I'm very busy right now. Can't you just sleep with the lights on?” I plead, trying not to sound desperate even though I am. I can't have Camilla with me tonight, I won't -
“Busy? With what, that clueless bitch in your office? No. Pause that, you can fuck her in your free time right now you have to be there for Camilla and I'm sure you don't want me telling mom that you brought your Luna here and coerced her to stay quiet about you two because you can't put on your fucking big boy pants and -”
“Watch it, Moon.” I warn, cutting her sentence short. She pauses and takes a deep breath, now acknowledging I'm her Alpha before I'm her brother and this matter is encompassing both those roles so if she can't watch her mouth for her brother, she better do so for her Alpha.
“Okay, sorry. I lost my temper but it's your fault for permitting us to watch that movie, you know how scared she gets over little things but you let us see it.” She says taking another deep breath. Is she trying to blame me for letting them see a movie they agreed upon?
“I'm sorry Belle, I promise I won't scream anymore.” Camilla shrieks.
“See, she promised to go now.”
“No.” She snarls, her eyes scampering to Camilla. “Goodnight, I will come and fetch you tomorrow morning and if he does anything weird to you, scream and I will come running.” She winks, shifting her gaze back to me to see my reaction but I have none.
“I love you baby, you're in terrible hands but they're stronger than mine, they'll keep the demons at bay.” She flickers her fingers walking away.
Alright. This wasn't the plan tonight, the plan was to fuck Angel in every intersection of my office and not breathing within an inch of Camilla much less have her in my bed.
And just like that, Mirabelle vanishes into the night and she too attempts to follow but since I don't intend on going from my room to her's every fucking five minutes that she screams, I stop her. How is it that of all mates the planet has to offer, I receive a human with the guts of a two year little girl. “Wait here.” I tell her walking back into my office. Angel is scrolling through her phone when I enter. “Who was it?” She looks up from her phone.
“Moon, there's something I need to do, I will see you later.” I lean into her and place a kiss on her lips, before picking up my phone beside her. “Be a darling and tidy up before you leave.”
“Of course, Anything for you.” She smiles.
Walking into my room with Camilla behind me, I turn on the lights. They momentarily flicker on and off before they completely go off. Fuck, I need to change that one light bulb before they all die, for some reason, when one light bulb dies they all stop functioning. I have been telling myself I will get around to it but I've been unmotivated because I don't sleep in this bedroom as much.
“What's that?” Camilla point's to an empty spot in the corner of my wardrobe.
“Nothing.” I switch on my phone's flashlight and hand it to her. “Take this, let me fix the lights.”
I grab my gaming chair and use it as a ladder to help me reach the lights, with my height it's an easy task. Balancing on the armrest hoping I don't fall, I unscrew the bulb and screw it back in.
The lights come on and I hop off my gaming chair, knowing full well I haven't fixed the problem, it will once again arise in a couple of days but for now it'll withstand. When I return from putting my gaming chair by my station, My eyes find themselves wandering on Camilla, her face is wet, she seems to have been sweating. No- crying, the entire three or five minutes I was up on my gamer's throne, she was doing what she does best.
Crying.
“Why are you crying?” I growl, baffled by her childish antics but as usual, she doesn't respond to me. I snatch my phone from her and find her tissues to wipe her face. I hand her a couple and she uses them afterwards, she searches for the trash bin.
“Corner left.” I instruct her, pointing at my gaming area.
I watch as she goes to toss the tissue, her steps are calculated and well thought out. I can't seem to not look at her and believe me, I've tried. She's wearing exactly what she wore this morning, an oversized T-shirt and long pair of socks. Her hair is still in a braided mess I'm pretty sure Mirabelle is responsible for.
“You can go to sleep, I will sleep over there.” I say pointing to my couch. She looks at the bed then at me before darting her eyes to the floor. “I won't bite, so you can relax.”
She walks over to my bed and rests on top of the covers, when I switch off the lights, she lets out a small howl and seconds later she's at my side, hanging on to me. The moment her body brushes mine through the soft fabric covering us, I stiff a little, I can feel her trembling against me. I reach for the light switch and she instantly escapes me. “Are you nyctophobic? Tell me just what it is that you're scared of?”
“Monsters and murderers.” She murmurs. underneath her breath. Her reply makes me laugh.
“So basically me?”
She nods before shaking her head. I can't help but wonder which one is her true answer. I understand why she'd have been scared of me in the past but now she's seen I'm not that horrible. Aside from the homicide she's witnessed, I haven't given an incentive to be afraid of me.
“Listen, there is nothing to be afraid of, it was just a movie nothing but fiction just like those books you like to read.” I say in an attempt to ameliorate her fears. Her eyes are still cast to the floor when she shakes her head, “No.” She whispers.
