Camilla's POV
Alphas Hated Mate.
Camilla's POV
Being in pre-heat has been hell, Adrian medicates me twice a day to lessen the pain for me but it's not cutting it, I simply pretend I'm okay but he can smell I'm far from it. I called Mom to ask her for the drug she used on me while I was back home but she told me to woman up and take Adrian like the brave little girl she raised, of course that was somewhat an awkward conversation for me.
Sex has never been a topic between us so discussing how I should "Take" Adrian like a brave girl didn't settle right with me. I couldn't tell her we weren't in that phase of our relationship yet, I simply retorted with a yes Mother and went on to discuss other things, like how she plans on moving permanently to the island she and dad were at.
They've already bought a house and feel unneeded because they were staying for me only and I like my siblings have grown up. Arielle on the other hand was ready to send me the bottle in my room but Mom caught her and told her to stop and I quote, "Stop encouraging my daughter to be a weakling that can't take an Alpha to bed and go to war against him." Yea, that was another awkward moment when Arielle said it on face time yesterday.
I'm cuddled up next to Adrian when my phone starts to vibrate on the night stand. I let it vibrate with hopes the vibration will die out but it doesn't. It keeps ringing and ringing until my sleep is disturbed, I turn away from Adrian and grab the phone as I slip out of bed. I stand a little distant from Adrian, bringing my phone to my ear.
“What the fuck Tee? Some of us sleep at night.” I whisper yell.
Tee chuckles on the other side, “You don't sleep at night, you pretend to sleep until the middle of the night which is three hours away when you really do sleep. The only time you sleep is during the day and early hours of day.”
I smack my head, and let out a tiny growl of frustration. “What do you want Tee? It's almost two in the morning.”
“Fine, I need yo-.”
“Shush.” I say cutting her off, “I can't get to Dark Moon at the hour and you should have known this before you woke me up or went on a murder spree.”
“I didn't murder anyone and I'm not at Dark Moon either. I'm in Midnight Saint's, I met someone, he scared me, Bear. He was with some people, they walked past me in the store but he stood two feet away and made a gagging sound. I was going to let it slide but I didn't. I went for war and he was giving it, he sniffed me and said I smelled like death, my mind went blank Bear. My thoughts are all over the place and I don't know what to do. The girls are asleep, but I can't sleep. I don't know, something about him just makes me feel weird and it's the first time I've seen him before.”
“Don't worry, Tee. I'm coming, just send your location.”
“Okay.” She breathes.
I set my phone down and glanced at Adrian. I think the moon goddess was preparing me for him when he put Talitha and Tiana in my life. Adrian makes Tee seem like an adorable kid but the old me would still top both of them.
Today Adrian broke someone's neck for staring at Molly inappropriately but to be fair, who wouldn't stare at a pretty girl in a bikini? It was chaotic because they needed me to break that fight up before his head was detached from his body. When another message from Tee lights up my phone, I sneak out of the room silently.
Tee's location says she is at a hotel one hour from here. I go to my room and wear some appropriate shoes before going after her. Mirabelle is still asleep in her room. I wished her a happy birthday when the clock hit twelve tonight. I also planned a surprise which I should be executing right now but my other best friend needs me and she sounded petrified so I have to deal with her first.
Sneaking out of the pack house is hard but I've gone out of Dark Moon pack house unnoticed so I apply the same tactics, hoping no one sees me or recognizes it's me. The uber is right where I requested it be packed, a fear creeps in as I seat in the backseat, texting Tee how I will haunt her if my driver turns out to be a murderous bastard.
Her response is predictable, she tells me to put my claws to good use. I tuck my phone away for the rest of the ride, I paid for the uber using my bank account, that Ryan has control over and he gets notified of every transaction I make but I doubt he'll have any questions about it since I'm Adrian's responsibility now which pisses me off somehow because I don't want to be a liability to him, how I felt last time he treated me as just a responsibility had me losing my shit.
The uber driver is silent until he drops me off at Tee's location, Tee is outside the hotel smoking a blunt as I approach her. It's a bit chilly but she's dressed in a skimpy outfit, the hoodie she has on is a crop top version of a hoodie and her dress is short, it barely covers her thighs which explains why she's shivering. “Milla bear.” She grins, dropping the blunt to the ground and stepping on it.
“You got your car?” I ask, studying the nervous wreck that she is, the way she's trying to conceal her desire to hurt someone. It's what she does, hurts them so she's not the only one in pain but I'm glad she calls me half the time before she malfunctions. She nods at my question and I nod too. “Let's go, you can come back in the morning.” I say, my eyes travelling to the discarded blunt on the floor. “I'm going to need one of these, it's the least you can do after bringing me here.”
“Mmm, Adrian, have you frustrated huh?”
I shake my head, “Nope, you're stressing me with your new fear of people. What else did he do, scare you with a little grasshopper?”
Tee rolls her eyes at me, “It's not funny Camilla, you don't know how I felt.”
“Well you can tell me about it when you get in the fucking car!”
Tee giggles tossing me her car keys, she points me to her car and I drive us. I don't like to drive on busy roads because I worry I might crash but there's no need to worry now, it's night time.
Tee lights me a blunt and we share as I drive us back to the pack house, she's shivering in her seat and it's not from the weather. I listen silently as she tells me about her encounter with the man that said she smells like death, the first thing she says is he smells like heaven and has people following him around like puppies.
Her description of the man is simple, he looks like "a god." I jokingly asked if she wanted me to kill him because I'd do it for her but she didn't want that, it surprised me.
There isn't a person on earth Tee wouldn't find a reason to want dead, I seem to be the only exception but now things have taken a turn. A stranger tells her she smells like death and walks away, leaving her starstruck and terrified. I would take a guess and say he is her mate but nope, her mate had an accident which wasn't really an accident after he forced himself on her. The world was red for some reason and when I finally came to my senses, I was soaked in blood and Tee was a crying mess.
There were no words said, I simply walked away with her close to me. I called my Dad and he fixed it. It's as if the boy never existed but I know he did, he left his traces on her. No amount of therapy can help her forget that day. I watched her break and I couldn't be there for her because to everyone we were Tiana and Camilla, not friends.
Her mate ravaged her for even more than she already was, and now any man that has sexual interest in her is begging to be cut open by the blade that is always strapped to her thigh. She still has interest in men but only to torture them, giving them blue balls until they're begging at her mercy. She does it so she has the chance to say and actually be heard unlike he who shall not be spoken of ever tried to have his way with her against her will.
When I pull up in the driveway at the pack house, the doors are locked but Racheal's bedroom window is open and it's easy to climb up her window so that's exactly what we do. We make sure we're silent enough not to wake her as we sneak out of her room to mine. I open the door to my room and Tee strolls in like she owns the place, this is exactly the type of confidence I need in life.
She bounces herself on my bed, assessing the comfort quality. “What do I have to do for a bed like this? I love it, it's bouncy and soft and I want to die here bear.” She pouts.
I tilt my head and snort, “Nope, I like these sheets so I don't need them soaked in the blood of my forever soulmate.”
Tee let's out a laugh and I go to my dresser, kicking off my shoes and placing them neatly by the side of the bed, along with her car keys. I pull some of my anti depressants from under my bed and give her two, plus the water bottle that Rachael has decided to replace every night, including nights I'm not sleeping here because in her opinion, I don't drink enough water. After taking the pills, she opens her mouth to show me she's not hiding them under her tongue or anywhere and I nod in approval. She falls back on the bed, her gaze drifting to the basket of roses and next to the balloons by the wardrobe. “What's that?”
