Mirabelle's POV

Alpha's Hated Mate

Mirabelle's POV

I've been wanting to see my mother since she returned home a few months ago and for the last two months, Camilla has been forcing me to go and see her. Today I finally gave in.

I woke early this morning, nervous to go but I had to, I had to see my friends and family, the friends that I used to hang out with when Camilla was with Adrian. I've been watching their social media through my ghost account but that's not enough, I need to see them in person.

I wanted Camilla to come with me, but she won't step foot here, not only because she's pregnant with their Alpha's daughter but because of what their Alpha did to her.

From the second I stepped foot here, people have been staring at me like they don't know me. I'm not planning on staying long, all I want is to say hello to mom, have a few words with her, and then I'll be gone. If I as much as make the mistake of staying here long, Camilla is going to overwork herself. She's not supposed to overwork herself, she's due to have the baby a month and she can't stay on bed rest, unless someone is supervising it.

As I walk inside the pack house, I encounter Angel, and her racket friends, talking amongst themselves but when they get a glimpse of me, they all hush, Angel grinning at me, hands crossed over her chest. “Oh, baby bird has come back to her nest.”

“I don't think you're in the place to talk to me, especially not in that mocking tone.”

“I honestly thought you and your sidekick died, where is the little squeak?” she pouts.

“Squeak?” I scoff, shaking my head.

Did she just call Silverline's Alpha a squeak? Well that's insulting but I'm not about to tell her. If only I could reach over and just tug, just rip out those extensions but before I can do so, I hear Racheal squeal ahead of me.

“Hey,” I grin.

Rachael launches herself at me,“You're here.” she sobs, squeezing the life out of me.

“Yeah.” I coax, patting her on the back, ignoring the look of disgust on Angel's face.

“Where is Camilla?” she sniffs, pulling away.

“Crazy busy,” I giggle. “Where are mom and mother?”

“With Summer, in the other sitting room.”

“Let's see them.” I grin, tossing Angel one last deadly stare before leaving with Racheal to meet my mom and her mom.

Surely, just like she said, they're watching a tv show together, just like Rachael said they would be. “Hey, look who came home.”

“Shh,” Mom tells her.

“Well I'm not welcome here,” I sigh. Only then do they look over their shoulders, eyes wide and mouths open when they discern me.

“Moon!” they scream in unison.

“Hey,” I whisper, trying not to cry but my inner child gets the best of me, running into my mothers arms as soon as she stands up.

“My little goddess,” she breaths, embarrassing me tightly before passing me off to Mother and Kristina, each taking turns in hugging me. No tears leave my eyes, and in that moment I know, Camilla and Tiana trained me well.

After our warm greeting exchange, I settled down, occupying the space in between mother and mom.

“Where have you been, baby?” Mom asks, studying me intensely, obviously mentally commenting about how grown I look now.

“Around,” I smile.

“We have looked everywhere for you,” Kristina tells me. “Mom Ximena wouldn't rest until you were found.

“Hmm, you can't find what doesn't want to be found.” I smile at her, she looks great, she's heavily pregnant more so than Camilla, her bump looks bigger, as if she is ready to pop but still flawless.

“I'm so glad you're home now,” Mother says.

“Me too.” Rachael agrees.

I sigh, getting treated like a teen who ran away from home is irritating despite it being what this is. “It's nice to visit you all but don't get it wrong, I'm not home. This isn't my home anymore, I have a new home and I am happy there, I really am.”

There's silence, no one responds to me. I turn to Kristina, “Where's Martin?”

“Working,” Racheal responds for her.

“How is the baby?” I ask her.

“He's fine, I love the gifts you guys sent.”

I smile, my body relaxing. “Camilla picked most of them, she was very happy.”

“So, where is she?” Mom asks, not bothering to hide her interest in the daughter in law her son ran off.

“She's at home, she would have loved to come but this city brings bad memories for her. ”

“Why?” mom asks.

“Mom, your youngest son treated her like shit, and all she did was love him. Camilla loved him so much it hurt her, she was in love with him through his cheating phase but he couldn't reason with her. He degraded her over his mistress.” I snort.

“Honey, your brother made mistakes-” mother begins, but I cut her off with a laugh.

“Yes, and now he has to live with them. I'm sorry but he deserves everything that happened to him and I mean everything.”

“Belle?” Rachael gasps.

“You know it was Camilla that got the worst of it, she's suffered more than he has. He's fucked with her head so much, sometimes I don't know know what or who I'm looking at.” I murmur, my head drifting back to last week when she was ready to kill Jebel.

My phone ringing breaks the trance I'm in. I quickly picked it up, bringing it to my ear. “My love, what's up?” I ask, rising from my seat. I stand a distance from everyone, not too far, not too close, just moderately.

On the other end, I hear her sob. “What's wrong?”

“I'm hungry, I don't want to eat anything else.” she tells me.

“What is it that you want then?”

“Cake,” she sniffs. “With mango icing on top and caramel and chocolate inside.” she sobs.

“Ugh, what did Maya say about that type of... ”

“No junk food,” she interrupts. “But I really want some.” she begins to cry once again.

“Okay, fine. But you'll have to wait, I'll tell Arielle to send one to you but it'll probably come tomorrow.” I mumble, closing one of my eyes to brace myself for one of her pregnancy tantrums but it doesn't come.

“Okay,” she tells me, my body finally relaxing in relief. “But tell your assistant to get her shit together before I cut her into pieces and bake her for dessert, I wonder what sloppy assistants taste like.” She groans.

“I am on my way,” I promptly say, hanging the phone up. Jenna is really trying to get herself murdered these days and I swear Camilla has had it with her, when she works for me she great but with Camilla, she can't seem to do a thing right.

Turning to everyone, I pocket my phone. “Umm, I have to go, there's an emergency and if I don't go right now I'll find dead bodies everywhere.”

“You are leaving?” mother asks.

“You can't go, you just got here.” Mom frowns.

I shake my head, “I have to mom, but I promise I'll see you again. Tell Martin and Tiago I said hi and I'll see you guy's soon, I promise I'm not going to disappear on you again. I'll call you even,” I say, my words directed at Rachael. “I swear, ” I tell her. “But right now, someone needs me to keep them alive.” I laugh.
