Kingston POV

Alpha's Hated Mate

Kingston’s POV

Camilla, Belle and I were out of town for some work. I don't know why they insist on having me come along when they've gotten the hang of things. We would be travelling back home today, but our last meeting ended a little later than we had expected so we were going to stay one more day and considering Belle and Camilla hate hotels we found ourselves a rental house, that's where we slept yesterday.

As I drove us to the rental house I looked at Mirabelle in the mirror she was scrolling through her phone pissed off.

“What's wrong?” I asked, clearing my throat.

Camilla nudges at Belle's arm. The young woman had no idea of my question and gaspses looking startled at the brush of body contact. “Huh yes.” she swallowed, tearing her attention from her phone a little while to Camilla and I.

“King is asking if you're okay?” Camilla repeats with a light chuckle at Belle's ignorance.

“Yes I'm absolutely fine King I'm just tired that's all.” she said putting her phone down.

Camilla takes a look at her with raised eyebrows. “You need a vacation.”

“Me? No you're the one playing mommy and Alpha all the time.” She argued.

“I'm exhausted but I don't have a choice.” Camilla frowns with a yawn taking a toil on her. The most important women in my life after Karla and Arieya came first were sitting chatting of their sorrows while I listened, my hands tightened on the steering. The need to do something special for them cropped in my mind.

“You both deserve a vacation why don't you stay here for a few days it's nice with lots of air and we already paid for a week?”

Mirabelle's tongue clicked against the other posing her grumbling misdemeanour. “We can't just stay here.” she says flatly with no reason.

“There's the kids, the pack, the meetings, the tiger.” Camilla trailed recklessly, her words merely said as questions than plain words. From their excuses showed they needed the time away from the rest of the pack and their troubles.

“The pack won't fall without you for a few days.”

“It might everyone will be doing whatever they want and what then I go back to a wrecked Silverline utterly destroyed with no mate and if there's no Silverline then there's no beta what the fuck else do I have to live for what do I have left?” Mirabelle snaps and slaps a hand to her mouth when she realises she said more than she should. Camilla gulped loudly and clamped her lips shit from speaking.

“Wow.” I say pulling up at a drive through, switched off the engine and got down from the car with the ladies making their way out to the rental house.

“That's quite the scenario.” I say taking in the appearance of the environment. The safest place in the world right now.

Camilla orders food for us as we make it to the rental house and relax in the lounge.

“My love,” Camilla brushes Belle's hair softly.

“Mmm." A murmur.

“What is that outburst in the car?”

“I was stating possibilities.” Belle defends.

“Didn't seem like it to me.” I chipped in and forced the cork of the water bottle to have a drink to calm the dryness in my throat. The long hours of driving did a number on me.

“Finally one for Camilla.” Camilla says laughing. Referring to how I side with Belle all the time.

“Look Belle I know it's hard and the party wasn't exactly your scene and I'm sorry I made you go.” Camilla dragged Mirabelle to a party and it seemed after that event Belle went from the happy carefree sweetheart to a dark downtrodden snappy old woman in a flash. There was something that happened and both women weren't ready to spill. It isn't in my place to force them into speaking when they aren't ready to spill the tea.

“Of course I wanted to go. I wanted to see kids find their mates and fall deeply In love in less than one hour and live a happy love life, something I'll never have!” Belle screeched in a snort.

I've noticed Mirabelle doesn't express her feelings much even when it comes to pack decisions she will have her own idea but will give in to Camilla's without letting her know what she would want done despite it being possibly a better decision than Camilla's.

Mirabelle is a people pleaser despite the strong image she puts out, she's one sweet big baby.

“I'm finding you a specialist.”

“For what?”

“You need to learn how to feel to stop concealing.” Camilla responds.

“You are really the worst person to be talking about this you Camilla Mia Burton.” I chuckle at her guts to see others but not herself. Each day she dissapeared in personality that I'm left to hold onto what version she brings to the table.

Mirabelle smiles back up. “Tell me about it, she can't even see what's clearly in front of her.”

“What do you mean?” Camilla had a killer look which screams murder probably vexed on the two of us ganging up on her ass.

“Should I spell it out for her?” Mirabelle asked, glancing in my direction. I nod, throwing the empty plastic to the trash can.

“I'm fine Belle. I'm perfectly in control of my life and emotions right now.” Camilla lied through her teeth. I could see through her. Since Adrian came back into the picture she switched into halves.

“If anything, Belle is in more control of her feelings than you Phoenix Alpha you're basically Elsa you act like nothing affects you.” I point out facts.

"Because it doesn't... I don't care!” She replies with irritation evident in her tone.

"That's a childish answer the two of you need to find yourselves, Mirabelle you need to see there's more to life and when the time comes you'll have your mate you're not cursed or unlucky In love it's just not your turn yet and you Beautiful you need to heal to let go of the past and move on without its memories weighing on your shoulders. Reflect on the decisions you've made the things you're doing and find out what you really want from life I don't want to see any of you hurt so you guys will stay here till you've figured out your lives.”

“What!” Mirabelle gasps, locking her gaze with me and she tries to break in and notice I didn't flinch on my decision, turning her gaze to Camilla, her only hope to talk me out of it.

“Seems like you need the time.” I face Camilla who looks stunned, unable to speak as she parts and closes her lips and reopens again.

“We can't stay here, what about my babies and the pack?”

“You left the kids in good hands and I'll handle the pack.” I say confidently.

“I don't..." she pauses.

“You will stay here and relax, take as much time as you can to think and when you've figured it out I'll come and fetch you both.”

Camilla switches. “Okay, Belle what do you think?”

The two bonds are unbreakable if Belle was a man. I'd think they share something more from their intense chemistry and how strongly they look out for each other.

“I'm okay if you're okay.” Mirabelle shrugs.

Yes! I knew it. Getting Camilla to agree to anything will have Belle's approval. Inseparable twins.

“So it's settled, I'll leave tomorrow morning and you guys only get to leave once you've told me your revelations and steps going forward.”

It's time the ladies face their fears one and for all. I really wanted to know the next phase in their lives, especially one of them to propel my next move. I really do and whatever becomes of it is built strongly to stomach in.

“Deal.”

“I bet you Camilla will stay for over a week.” Mirabelle throws shade.

“No it'll be you.” The other retorted.

“Bet.”

“Bet!”

They cross fingers and lay back in their chairs. My phone beeps in my pocket. I picked it up and saw the display in the form of a text.

A text from Angel.

What does she want this time? I've told her countless times never to call me except emergencies and if she dares put up a funny move I'll deal with her. She can't play her way into my heart anymore, I used to love and adore her but she threw my love to the mud and let the pigs have a field day. Angel and I are old news. I'd rather turn into a monk than lift a finger to touch her.

I pressed the call centre and her number spring up and with a swipe I dialled her number waiting to listen to what she has to say. Her text was her asking me to call her because she doesn't want to call me without my permission.

This new Angel gives me chills, when did she learn such courtesy? Life has taught her hard lessons. She ruined someone's life and hers isn't far from calamities.

“Angel what is it?” I asked quickly. I heard her breath through the phone. A minute spent listening to her feels like a terrible mistake. I can't stand her to save my life. It's funny how love and hate runs in similar lines.

“I just wanted to ask you for a favor?” she replied quickly. I could hear her heart race.

“What do you want?”

"Umm are you coming to get Karla?”

“No, she's staying.”

She stays silent for a few minutes thinking through her next question before she spills. “Can I take Karla to see Kyrie?”

“No, leave her alone, don't go near my daughter Angel, leave Karla alone, don't speak to her, don't touch and don't even look at her!”

“How long?” Her voice breaks in grief.

“You think she wants to meet him she felt deserted let her be don't hurt my daughter again.” I say cutting the call. Angel is impulsive. I used to find her lack of self control attractive but it's plain annoying.

Her impulses are what caused her to go to the store to buy lord knows what and not come back and with my son. The only reason she called me was because her son was sick and she didn't have a solution or the money for treatment if not her prideful self would be M.I.A till now.
