Santiago's Pov continues
******
When I get to the pack, Rachael, Mirabelle and Adrian are sitting outside. Adrian is on his laptop and the girls each have a book in their hand. Mirabelle looks miserable today, her hair is in a wild mess like she didn't bother to comb it.
Racheal on the other hand looks like Mirabelle does on most days, flawless. She looks happy, truly happy not like she's been falsifying her joy these past few days. Everything that transpired from the mindless boyfriend to Camilla's suicide attempt, it was a little too much for her. Racheal is emotionally weak but she conceals it competently. On the outside, she's this playgirl that doesn't give a shit but the truth is, she allots way too many shits.
“Hey kids, daddy Tiago is home.” I say, stretching out my arms as they turn to look at me. None of them speak, they hardly look at me before returning to what they were doing before I arrived. I drop my arms and sigh, I was hoping for a hug but I forgot the girl's have outgrown my hugs.
Camilla is the only one that gave me hugs every time I returned, it didn't matter if I was gone for three hours or thirty minutes, she'd give me a hug, if not, she would offer me one of her tender smiles that indicated she was glad to see me. Racheal and Mirabelle on the other hand are less affectionate but now I realise I got used to Camilla's ways.
I drop into an empty chair and Adrian glares at me. I ignore the glares he's giving me, I take my phone out of my pocket and log into my phony Instagram account. It serves one purpose but man is it fundamental.
I don't have to scroll down to see her, her picture is the first one that I see.
My mate.
I tense a little in my seat, she's not alone in the picture, she's with someone, a man. A little older than me that's for sure but I like to think I look better, sure he has a visible six pack but mine is an eight pack. I focus my gaze on her, my girl is a stunner, she might not know it yet but she's mine. She has been mine from the day we met and she'll forever be mine.
Her green eyes are twinkling as she stares up at the sky, the man next to her is smiling at her. I trail my gaze to the tattoo on her arm, a rose. It's petals are fading into thin air, there's a hand touching a thorn on the rose. I have reason to think the hand touching the rose is the reason the rose is fading away. My eyes journey to her waist, the hand secured over it makes me snarl.
“What's wrong?” Adrian asks, I don't respond because I didn't realise I snarled so loudly and there's nothing to tell.
I scroll to the comment section, the remarks seem pretty normal for the first half and then it begins…
@babyflake: OMG so this is the soulmate.
@okylnn.rocks: Favorite couple, you make Bey and Jay seem like nothing!!
@daddybryan: Looks like the playboy found his dime.
@xo.felicia: You two are too perfect!! I can't wait to see the pretty babies you make.
That's it, I've read enough. That should be me fondling her, seeing another man touch her makes me crave cutting off each and every finger he's laid on her, slowly and into tiny pieces.
God I sound like Adrian now.
I double tap the image and switch back to my verified account, I post a picture Camilla took of me earlier this forenoon in the jet before shoving the phone back into my pocket. When I look up, I find Adrian glaring at me like I've lost my mind. I look over to the girls who aren't paying me any attention, they're looking at Racheal's book, Mirabelle is pointing at something and giving her an explanation. I shift my gaze back to Adrian and shrug, “Nothing, just a Rebellious girl.”
Adrian frowns but nods anyway, “Hmm, where did you go?”
“Errands.” I say, relaxing in my chair. If I felt that way over a mate that doesn't recall me, how does he feel about other men near Camilla? Adrian is more impulsive than me so how hasn't there been bloodshed yet, I expected him to murder any man that so much as stares at her for more than five minutes but surprisingly, there's been none.
Sure I've seen a few bloody noses and swollen faces but nothing extreme, Camilla changed this psychopath without even trying. He doesn't murder people for small inconveniences anymore, heck just yesterday, he caught a rat in one of our cooperations, an employee we've had for about three years, David.
He was selling out our new ideas to our competition, giving them so much advantage over us.
Adrian was infuriated, he saw red and nothing else but not even then did he rip David's head off his body. The old Adrian would have had his head just for thinking about selling us out but this Adrian isn't that blood thirsty, sure he has killed forty-six people post Camilla's suicide attempt but yesterday, he didn't kill David.
The man is walking free today, okay not necessarily walking because Adrian broke almost every bone in his body earning him a trip to the ICU but still, he is free.
“Ah,” Mirabelle grunts loudly, “Where did Martin take Cami? She can explain this so much better than I am doing right now.”
Oh so they think Martin went out with Camilla, I feel bad for the girls. They've all grown close but they'll have to understand, I did what I did for Camilla's well being. I look at them, now bickering.
I cleared my throat, “Martin didn't go out with Camilla.”
Everyone turns to me, Mirabelle and Racheal halting their bickering instantly. “How do you know that?” Racheal asks, her head tilting slightly as she studies me, waiting for an answer.
Damn the girl can stare. Her stare is intimidating the more she prolongs it, it can make a grown man wish the ground would swallow him whole. However, I'm not just any man and I don't cower in front of scary men, I'd do best not to cower in front of a little girl like Racheal. I match her stare, “I know because I took her.”
Now it's Mirabelle that shoots me a stare, but she couldn't be scared even if she tried, her beauty masks any anger, if anything she's adorable when she's trying to scare me with her glares. When she sees her glare is not sending the message she wants, she crosses her arms over her chest in an attempt to seem more serious. It makes me snort out a laugh, Adrian too chuckles.
Mirabelle scowls at me, “Well, where is she? I need her to help me work through this mess on my head because someone that doesn't understand history won't help me and also needs Cami to help her understand history.”
I lean forward, resting my eyebrows on my thighs. “I took her back home...” I say. No one speaks, they simply stare at me, trying to make out my words, I guess I used the word home loosely.
I look at Adrian, wanting to see his reaction when I tell him. “Camilla is at her old pack, I took her this morning.” Adrian's eyes widen and his mouth forms an O but he swiftly fixes his expression. I fought back a smile simply because I caught it, I caught the bewildered expression he had.
“When did I authorize that?” He grunts.
I look him dead in the eye and smirk, “Thats because you didn't. I don't need your authorizing and you should be happy, I did you a favor seeing that you didn't want Cami, I took her back so you're free now. No babysitting Luna, you can screw whoever you desire freely and openly like you have always done.”
The girls don't say a word, I almost forget they're there if it weren't for their not so silent gasps and Mirabelle's breathing pattern, I would have missed the fact that they're here but I know it and my gaze stays on Adrian. He gets up, his laptop crashing to the ground with a boom sound when he does.
Oh, not only did I do the right thing but I got to see Adrian pissed? Someone rang a bell because, Bonus!
My eyes fly to the now broken laptop at the same time his does, that tells me he must have forgotten he had it resting on him.
“And where is it that you think you're going, Alpha brat?”
He ignores my remark but scowls at me with evident annoyance. “To get Camilla,” He replies simply.
“Why are you going to get her?” I ask, waiting for a good reason which I know he won't have but still, I am excited to see what he comes up with in that psycho head of his. I begin to count the seconds before he comes up with an excuse.
One.
He warningly glares at me.
Two.
He clenches his fists.
Three.
Silence.
Four.
He opens his mouth to say something but halts.
Five.
He switches his gaze from me to the girls, ah, yes he has found an excuse. I fight back a smile before he even says a word .
“Moon needs her, just look what you did to her. She’s having a panic attack.” He blurts out, his hands gesturing to Mirabelle.
I shake my head as I rise from my seat, “I already told you Camilla will only return here as your mate and our Luna, full rights. If not, she stays. I already told Alpha Ryan you have to beg at his mercy for his beloved sister.” Now he is the one having a panic attack, nice. I grin, giving him a pat on the shoulder as I relish in his foreseen agony without Camilla here.
“Sucks to be you buddy.”
