Amaya's POV
Alpha's Hated Mate
Amaya's pov
I just received some mail when I was in my office with Sheryl. She hasn't eaten in days and she's worried about Camilla but what can we do about it? Life happens and there's nothing we can do about it, especially since we want her to be happy till the end of her time on this earth. I opened the one from Silverline.
“Look, it's finally here.”
SheryI waves me off refusing to check out the content. “I can't do this.”
“You just have to.” I say clearing my throat so I can read the wedding invite.
"Your Highness Princess Amaya Royal, Alpha Adrian Carter of Golden Hunters and Alpha Camilla Burton (Phoenix Alpha) of Silverline request your presence at their wedding; they urge you to join them in celebrating their union on the 18th of September."
"That's next week.” Sheryl says, looking surprised, her eyes popping.
“Yes, aren't you happy?”
“I am more than happy for her but I wish…” she pauses.
"No Sheryl.” I say cutting her off.
“Amaya the babies.” Sheryl said worried.
“You don't get to wish for anything. You know the love story of Hunter and Winter. They rarely reunite but this time they did and we got to witness it. Winter didn't choose just any soul, she chose our Camilla and we got to see the great love story we read about as kids.” I say smiling with tears pooling in my eyes.
Sheryl spat. “It’s a curse.”
“It's not a curse, it's fiction. Some parts were true. The reason Winter and Hunter rarely unite is because they're rarely born in the same timeline and if they are, it's always that they never find each other.”
Sheryl wasn't backing down as she knocked a flower vase. “But they did!”
“Yes and they've lived a great love story with bumpy roads but a smooth love is shared between the two.”
Sheryl raised her hands up in the air in defeat. “Fine, I'll stop soaking.”
“Don't forget you promised not to say anything.” I clipped my lips in demonstration.
“Yes I won't say anything that might ruin their happiness but we can....”
“No Sheryl, just drop it. I know it saddens you but there's nothing we can do. The situation isn't in our hands so don't dwell on it. Focus on Camilla's wedding and her happiness for now, don't think of something that will make us lose our powers.”
Sheryl gets up from her seat and I watch her pace around the room in thoughts as she glides forward to face me again. “I don't mind losing my powers to save someone's life.”
“It won't be the first time someone dies on us.”
“How can you talk like that?” Sheryl challenged.
“Ever since Camilla came into our lives I've noticed you've forgotten we have rules.” I poked.
"I haven't forgotten!"
“You've broken rules already so stop it before we get cursed for generations to come.” I said tapping my fingers on the table and she breathed in a large intake of air.
Sheryl nods. “You're right.”
“Yes I'm right let everything be.” I put a lid on the topic never to be spoken of or heard by a third party; everything stays a secret to us and to posterity.
“I do love a good wedding.”
“Atta girl high five.” We hi fived as we smiled like normal.
“I'll see you later.” Sheryl leaves, shutting the door after her as I went back to the mail reading it for a second time as my joy knows no bounds.
Happily ever after at last.
