"meet me in the hallway in 2minutes if you would like to know more" she said without opening her mouth. It was like some sort of mind link.
I just nodded my head once before following my friends out. I let them move ahead of me "guys uhmmm I will meet you in a few minutes I just need to get some... Air" I told them.
Amara raised an eyebrow at me "are you sure you are okay? You don't want me to come with you?"
I shook my head "No it's okay I will be just fine. It will only take a few minutes"
"okay if you take longer we will come looking for you" Trevor said and I nodded my head before heading to the main hallway but suddenly a warm hand grabbed my arm softly. The tingles I felt from that already told me who it was.
I turned to face him "do you need something?"
"yes" he said with a straight face... It was so hard to read his emotions.
"what is it?" I asked curiously
"you" he said simply
"me?"
"you are hurt," he said catching me off guard.
"I..." I froze as I held my sore arm. Shit I didn't have an excuse yet so I said the first thing that came to my mind "I fell"
"you fell,you fell where" he asked but I could clearly see it on his face-he didn't believe me.
I breathed in deep "I wanted to investigate the whole banshee thing alone so I kind of snuck out and got hurt in the process" hopefully he would believe this.
"you are really good at this"
I raised an eyebrow at him "what? I mean good at what?"
"lying"
I frowned at him "and what makes you think I'm lying?"
"I have lived for a long time Mate. I can tell when a human is lying and your heart is racing right now."he said look down at me. I felt so tiny at the moment.
I shook my head " you make me a bit uneasy, there is a werewolf hybrid king standing right infront of me. It is only normal that my heart races like that because your kind makes me uneasy." I told him point blank, I mean this was actually half of the truth
Before he could reply me Vladimir just popped up behind me and my heart literally almost Burst out of my chest."you look like you have seen a ghost" he commented with a smirk on his face
"I have to go," I said literally running off before the King could suddenly say something or ask questions I couldn't answer.
I hid in some corner while I waited for them to just disappear. I mean why couldn't he just stay out of my business. I shook my head, on another note what did the witch mean when she said I had something in my blood. Something in my blood? My heart started racing, what if it was some sort of disease I got when the banshee attacked me! I started pacing nervously
"It is not a disease Raven" the witch said popping out of nowhere and I jumped
"Damn it would everyone stop trying to give me a heart attack!"
She smiled "oh sorry about that"
"why do you keep calling me Raven?"
"That is what you are, you come from a generation of hunters. They called themselves the Ravens" she explained
I scoffed "I think you are mistaken, my parents were not hunters. We were all normal human beings before this happened"
"You don't even know who your real parents were." she replied and my heart dropped
" just stop it, this is one of your tricks isn't it. I will not fall for it!" I said taking a step back. She was just tryingon to get into my head and confuse me.
She folded her arms." I have absolutely no reason to trick you or try to get into your head because I don't have to try. I was already in there and if I wanted to I could stay in there for a very long time. I just thought it would be good for you to find yourself especially considering your situation but... Oh well" she said about to walk away but I quickly grabbed her arm.
"How do I know you are telling the truth?" I asked her
She smiled "you just have to trust me. Take my truth or leave it because the choice is all yours"
"who were they... My real parents?" I asked curiously.
"Like I said they were hunters, they were different. They were faster, much more calculated, strong, brave and protectors of the human world" she said and I listened carefully.
This was just a lot to take in but I had to know "So you are saying Martha and Joshua were not my real parents... But I have known them all my life. Ever since I was a child"
"They were your aunt and uncle. They took you in when you were just a baby after your parents went... missing" she said
I shook my head "how do you know all of this?"
"I used to help hunters, I was a witch on their side. Did location spells and protection spells for them before I started black magic. Then hunters started disappearing. I couldn't figure it out..." she said with a sigh before continuing "My magic was too weak, I knew I had to go underground otherwise I would have disappeared next. After your parents disappeared I hid for a very long time and decided I had to be stronger. I started working with black magic then... doing deals with the devil. "
I swallowed hard, dealing with the devil was never a good thing obviously. " so you knew them that well... Do you have any ideas of where the hunters were disappearing to? "
" I don't but we could find out... however there is a price to pay for this deal."
