Chapter 75
***LUCY'S POV***
"You had to see the truth with your own eyes before changing your destiny" Sharma said with a straight face which made it difficult for me to read her emotions .
What I saw left me with so many questions, "My destiny? Why are you doing this,you and Iris want him dead so was there a need to show me all that.What is the end game here?" I asked coughing out once more before standing up on my feet.
She held her head up high "I am not like you or Iris that is one thing you must understand.Yes,I have to help Iris kill the man she once loved but my duty is to keep the balance of nature steady.You are his mate,you are his fate and you must make the decision that will change everything. The decision you make today will change you,so choose and choose wisely."
"Can it be changed,my fate...how do I change being mated to him?" I asked desperately
She looked at me with a blank expression "even if you kill him,he will die as your mate.I will still get what I want either way.Listen here the only reason I showed you what I showed you was so you could have a choice of your own as nature permits.My job here is done," she said taking out a white dagger with symbols carved on it with black ink "This is the hell bringer,stab it in his heart and he will fall into a deep sleep like a coma.You cannot kill an original by stabbing him but this will be like killing him.Once he is in a deep sleep Iris will burn his body to ashes and then he will be dead for real this time"she explained handing me the dagger.
I looked at her and nodded my head.I had a choice and It was clear which choice I had to make.I had to do what was best for me and for my friends.She strapped the dagger on my thigh using a tight small belt that would hold it there "Good luck Lucy Anne" she said leading me out the door and she closed the door behind me.
Alexander was staring right at me,waiting for me to make my move.I saw him differently now,it was as if a lot had been clarified and a few questions had been answered.I knew where he had come from,he came from betrayal,torture and a sadness even I do not think I would have survived.Now here he was standing before me broken,cruel,cold and empty.I walked towards him without paying attention to anything or anyone else.It was just him and I.
He didn't move his eyes either ,they were solely on me until I was standing right in front of him. "This human is your Kings mate,the Goddess has blessed Alexander Blood Reigner with a mate!" Sharma exclaimed holding a red ribbon.She walked towards us and took my palm which still had a fresh wound.I was ready to pull back this time if she tried slitting it again but my gaze was still on Alexander. She tied the ribbon on my wrist "She is your Luna as chosen by the moon Goddess"she said taking a step back.
"Wow congratulations Blood Reigner it is good to know that even the bringer of death gets gifted by the Goddess.She is quite merciful..."Iris commented behind me and Alexander's eyes slowly moved away from mine.I turned to look at her and she looked at me expectantly but she knew I wasn't going to kill him the moment she saw my face.I wasn't a cold heartless murderer like their kind,I was good.She smiled at me but it wasn't genuine at all "You got a weak one too,a rare combination indeed"
"If you are done with your analysis we will be leaving now." Alexander stated
Iris smiled "Of course and our deal still stands.Be merry Alex everything seems to be working in your favor yet again"
I had so many questions for Iris,like for starters 'how did they end up like this as enemies'.Alexander grabbed my arm softly and led us away from Iris and her people.He did not seem happy all but I did not question it. Me finding out a little bit about his past didn't mean I suddenly knew him and it definitely did not give me the green light to start questioning him comfortably as if we were husband and wife.This only meant that the Alex today could be a cold,heartless genetically modified beast or it could mean he is a broken Alex that could possibly be fixed with time. However it wasn't safe to jump into conclusions yet,my plan was to leave as soon as possible .Alex could stay and do whatever the fuck he wanted without me as his slave-mate or whatever the hell I was to him.
MASON'S POV
Mason paced around in the living room nervously and his niece groaned in annoyance "Stop it Mason,I already told you we couldn't trust that murderer!" she said standing up from the couch.
"Stop it ,she will be here with the information and we can plan our way forward "he said softly wanting so badly to believe that his own words were true and Lucy hadn't betrayed them.His feelings had betrayed him and he had kind of taken a liking to Lucy,maybe even the first day she walked through his door with Benjamin.It was so easy to like her,she had this innocence in her and her smile-that was all it took for him to care for her.
Sophie scoffed "She should have been here six hours ago but here we are still waiting for her.You need to accept that she is just not a good person uncle"
No,his niece was wrong.He has always been a good judge of character and Lucy's character screamed 'good' ,he did not have to even think twice about it.He shook his head "She will come through,probably something happened.Give her some time ...a few more hours."
"Lets get one thing clear uncle it seems as if you have grown a bit fond of the girl who got Benjamin killed.If she does not come through and she betrays us I will kill her.If she still comes through and does get us out of here I am still going to kill her."she said before walking away.
