Chapter 140
"pardon?" I am sure I did not get that quite right .
The woman with jet black straight long hair and beautiful olive skin smiled at me. Her silver grey familiar eyes watched me and I actually wanted to believe her statement .I looked at her more carefully preparing myself for any surprise attacks .This reminded me I needed to carry a small blade with me especially considering how unsafe this place was becoming .
"Lucy, don't look so frightened love. I would never hurt my sons beautiful mate." she said but I did not trust her not even for a second . There was something off about her and I didn't know Alexander had a mother...well that is still alive and breathing . He never talked about his family much.
I breathed out as I let go of the sink "he never told me about you or that you are around so excuse me If this is a little bit suspicious"
"Call me Ayra , my son is not very fond of me for so many reasons but that is a story for another day dear. Take a walk with me" she said holding her hand out .
Oh hell no. I looked around ,something wasn't right . My guards wouldn't have let anyone else in while I was using the toilet. They always made sure I was alone and others would use the room after me. There were two ways about this situation ,either she was really his mother or this was a trap but one thing was for sure I wasn't taking any chances.
"I have to get back , I'm sorry" I said walking away.
She grabbed my arm a little too tight "We will take that walk later then my dear" she said before letting me go .
I rushed out of the toilet without looking back , my heart was racing a little bit .Mark noticed how freaked out I was and both guards rushed towards me . Mark didn't ask any questions as he immediately rushed into the toilet while Rick stood next to me ready to protect me.
Mark came out "Are you okay ,what happened?" he asked and I scrunched up my eyebrows in confusion as I entered the toilet with both guards right behind me.
I widened my eyes ,where could she have gone. There was one exit and entrance, this was impossible "She was right here!" I said out loud . My eyes scanned the small room one more time, the windows were tiny not even a cat could fit through them.
"Who?" Mark asked watching me
I looked at him and Rick "His mother was right here I am telling you"
They still looked confused , Rick nodded his head "Slow down, whose mother was here?"
"The Kings" I whispered
Everyone was silent for what seemed like the longest minute. Mark shook his head "That's impossible"
"Why?" I asked watching him
"Because the Kings mother is dead. She died ages ago." he spoke and gave Rick a look
Rick nodded "Lets take you back, we need to report this back to the King immediately"
My heart was pounding as we made our way to Alexander's office . he had a meeting with Vladimir and Lewis his beta I didn't want to disturb him but Mark insisted It was crucial I tell him now. Rick knocked on the kings office door and opened it. I didn't hear him say come in but maybe they did with their werewolf hearing plus I am sure Alexander felt my presence as soon as I stood by the door.
He was standing behind his desk discussing something with his two closest men. It sounded very serious "If they resist you might as well bring them to me dead or alive." Alexander told Vladimir and he nodded before getting up. Lewis bowed his head before following behind Vladimir. they both walked out without even giving us one look. The room felt so tense my skin shivered a little, whatever was going on was not good at all. I walked towards Alexander ,he grabbed my waist and pulled me closer.
"Why is your heart racing mate," he said kissing my forehead .
I tried pulling away from him a little so I could explain but he growled lowly ,pulling me back into his arms. I sighed and held his chest "I want to explain," I said lowly
He let me but still stood so close I could feel his breath and I could smell his amazing scent. It was weird how I could smell most things so clearly . He nodded "Explain,"
I swallowed hard before starting "I saw a lady in the toilet, she had dark hair ,olive skin and eyes...just like yours,"
He watched me carefully but I could tell he was tense now, his eyes were turning darker and his jaw clenched but I continued "she said she was your mother and she wanted to take a...walk with me. I refused I felt something was off about her then she just vanished into thin air."
Alexander growled a little louder now, my heart skipped and I unconsciously took a step back. He wasn't happy about this at all "what else did this woman say?" he asked
"That her name was Ayra and also that you were not so fond of her" I added
He shook his head "My mother is dead ,whatever you saw was someone very dangerous If they are able to appear as someone close to me and disappear like that. I see magic is becoming something big here, they are breaking rules so comfortably" he said folding his arms
I was worried it seemed as if Alexander's enemies were increasing every single second. "What are we going to do? This place is not so safe anymore If your enemies can easily appear in your territory"
He looked at me for a second before nodding his head at the two guards "You are right ,take her to our room and call the witch"
I narrowed my eyes at him "You are calling a witch ? You can't just send me off like that"
"Yes Sharma's mother her name is also Sharma the first she owes a big debt just like her daughter did.I need you to be safe so I can deal with this without worrying about you and..." he stopped himself and gave me a soft look.
I knew what he wanted to say ,this wasn't about me alone anymore . I gave him a small smile before walking out with the two guards. I was still going to find out what the hell was going on though. I just needed to get away from Rick and Mark first.
