Chapter 215

In the dimly lit room, the soft glow of candlelight cast shadows on the walls as Ella and I continued our conversation. The air was filled with a sense of urgency, the weight of our decisions pressing down on us. There was mostly just one thing really bothering me...telling Roman and I guess it was also bothering Ella. Despite all the drama with me ,her and Roman she was still a pack member. It was her duty to be loyal to her Alpha too.

"Iris, we can't keep this from Roman. He needs to know about your banishment from Alexander's pack," Ella insisted, her eyes searching mine for understanding. "That way you won't have this bothering you anymore."

I nodded, acknowledging the truth in her words. "You're right, Ella. I just don't know how to tell him. What if he sees it as a betrayal?"

Ella sighed, "Honesty is the only way, Iris. Trust Roman to understand. If he truly cares about you, he'll see through the past and focus on the present."

As we delved deeper into our conversation, a sudden knock on the door startled us. The room fell silent as we exchanged cautious glances. I got up to answer, and as I opened the door, a mysterious figure stood in the hallway, shrouded in shadows.

"Are you Iris?" the figure asked in a hushed tone.

I hesitated for a moment, then cautiously replied, "Yes, who are you?"

The figure stepped into the room, revealing a face hidden beneath a hood. "I have information you might find valuable," they whispered, their voice filled with secrecy.

Ella and I exchanged a glance, curiosity sparking in our eyes. "What kind of information?" I asked, my instincts on high alert.

"The attack that Rya's mate is involved in. It's more intricate than you think. There's a mastermind behind it all, and they have plans within plans," the mysterious informant revealed cryptically. I held Ella's hand ready to attack this stranger if he tried anything funny. My whole body and mind was on high alert.

My heart raced as I processed the gravity of the revelation. "Who are you, and why are you telling us this?"

The informant smirked, "Let's just say I have my reasons. But you need to act fast. The attack is imminent, and you're not the only ones in danger."

Ella and I exchanged a quick, silent conversation. The urgency of the situation became clear. "What do we need to do?" I asked, determination in my voice.

The informant handed me a small, sealed envelope. "Inside, you'll find the key to unraveling this conspiracy. But beware, not everyone is who they seem."

With those enigmatic words, the informant melted into the shadows, leaving Ella and me with more questions than answers. I opened the envelope, revealing a cryptic map and a list of names. It was a puzzle waiting to be solved, and time was running out.

As we studied the information, a knot tightened in my stomach. The stakes had risen, and the mysteries surrounding us deepened. The path ahead was shrouded in uncertainty, but one thing was clear – we needed to act swiftly to unveil the truth and protect our pack from this threat.

In the quiet of the night, Ella and I pored over the cryptic map and the list of names, our minds racing to decipher the puzzle before us. The informant's warning lingered in the air, and the sense of urgency pushed us to unravel the secrets hidden within the intricate details.

"We need to find out who's behind this, Iris," Ella whispered, her eyes fixed on the mysterious map. "The mastermind, as the informant said."

I nodded in agreement, my mind filled with a mix of determination and apprehension. "But how? The map and names don't reveal the puppeteer pulling the strings."

Ella leaned back, deep in thought. "There has to be a connection, a link we're missing. Maybe it's in the history of these territories, or in the relationships between the packs."

As we delved into the complexities of the map, a sudden realization struck me. "Ella, look at this symbol here. It's repeated in multiple locations. Do you think it signifies something?"

Ella's eyes narrowed as she studied the symbol. "It could be a mark, a signature. Maybe the mastermind is leaving clues intentionally."

We focused our attention on the repeated symbol, tracing it across the map. Each occurrence seemed to mark a key location – a meeting point, a strategic position, or perhaps a hidden rendezvous. The pieces of the puzzle were falling into place, but the identity of the mastermind remained elusive.

A knock on the door interrupted our investigation. Startled, we exchanged a quick glance before I cautiously approached the door. Opening it revealed Roman, his expression a mixture of concern and curiosity.

"I heard you two talking in hushed tones. What's going on?" Roman asked, his eyes flickering between Ella and me.The room suddenly felt very tense,Ella avoided eye contact with Roman but I understood she was still embarrassed so I decided to break the awkwardness.

I hesitated for a moment, unsure of how much to reveal. "Roman, we have information about the attack, but it's complicated. There's a mastermind orchestrating everything, and we're trying to figure out who it is."

Roman's brow furrowed, his protective instincts kicking in. "Tell me everything. We can't afford to keep secrets, especially now."

Ella and I exchanged a glance, and I began to recount the mysterious informant's visit, the sealed envelope, and the enigmatic map. Roman listened intently, his eyes narrowing as the gravity of the situation sank in.

"We're running out of time, Roman. The attack is coming sooner than we thought, and we need to expose the mastermind before it's too late," I urged, the urgency in my voice matching the intensity of the situation.

Roman nodded, his jaw clenched in determination. "We'll gather the council, share the information, and formulate a plan. Whatever is in that envelope might give us an advantage."

"That's if we can even trust that stranger,I hope it's not a set up." I said with a sigh and Roman held my hand.
