Chapter 126
When they say think carefully before you act, it is not just another saying. Things weren't supposed to go this way. I had made another stupid decision because I did not think carefully before taking the action of awakening the monster hunter.
My feet felt numb as I moved and made my way back to my friends to tell them that I might have made the worst mistake of my life. My pace increased as I heard loud screams and people shouting. So it had begun, was he killing the werewolves already... So soon. Was he going to kill Alex... I had to tell Alexander. I had to give him a chance to fight at least, I owed him that honor. He had protected some humans and because of my stupid anger I had taken away his fighting chance, he didn't even know what he was up against now.
It was a nightmare, everything was in slow motion. Werewolves fighting their own kind as if they were possessed. I threw my body in a corner to shield myself from the two large bodies of a werewolf and a banshee ripping each other apart. My ears felt like they were blocked and the only thing I could feel was my breathing and my heart beat. I was in shock, my feet tried to move but even I knew I was too slow as I stumbled trying to get to my friends.
I felt hot tears streaming down my cheeks. This was my fault... I fell to the ground again as two werewolf guards brushed against me, they were trying to protect their kings territory. I knew those guards, they used to guard the kings floor. I almost screamed when I saw blood covering the floor. There was so much blood, how could there be so much blood. Everywhere I turned there was blood, blood was on my hands literally and I tried to remove it but it only got - worse.
Suddenly I was picked up from the ground by strong hands. I screamed and tried to get away from whatever was dragging me away, my feet barely touched the ground as we moved. I thrashed and scratched his arms as hard as I could.
"stop it, the King demands that I bring you to safety so don't try fighting me. I have a lot to deal with right now" the beta's voice boomed. He was definitely annoyed, I hadn't noticed it was him. I was glad it was him for some reason and my body stopped fighting him.
"but I need to get to my friends please! You don't understand" I said as I followed him.
He granted "your friends are safe, I am taking you to them" he said
I felt relieved that they were safe but my heart was still unsettled. I needed to know if 'he' was safe. He had so many people threatening his entire existence today. I had to make sure he was safe, this wasn't supposed to be how things end for us. Not when he didn't even know his ex wasn't the only thing he should be worried about.
"Is he there as well, I have to talk to him Lewis" I shouted so he could hear me although I knew that werewolves had great hearing abilities but I had to make sure he heard me clearly.
He didn't answer me, he just kept moving to the upper floor until we entered a room guarded by werewolves in their actual form. My friends were all there including the twins. Our babies, I ran towards them and they all jumped in for a big hug.
"oh I missed you so much!" I said kissing their cute chubby cheeks.
"Lucy, everything happened so fast" Amara said rushing towards me. I quickly stood up as she held the twins.
I swallowed hard, yes everything happened so fast and nothing was going according to how I had planned. I glanced at Lewis and she understood. We couldn't afford to have him knowing about this, what I had done. He would definitely kill me this time. I had made everything worse.
"please, I have to see the king. I have a crucial message for him." I told the beta .
He shook his head "he specifically told me not to let you out or he would have my head and I believe him. The king doesn't mess around, just tell me what the message is if it is as important as you say it is"
I couldn't tell the beta, he didn't like me and if I told him... I was as good as dead. He looked annoyed already as he waited for me to tell him. Everyone was staring now, I had to figure out how to get to Alexander-fast.
"I guess it's not so important after all, stay here. If you leave you will not live to see another day" he said before walking out and locking us in.
Trevor rushed towards the door "the bastard just locked us in!" he said trying to open the door "fuck!" he shouted banging his fist on the door
"Trevor! We have kids!" Amara said trying to block the twins from hearing their uncle swear.
Trevor sighed as he rubbed his forehead, he was stressed "I'm sorry"
"what happened, how did the banshees end up here so fast?" I asked. When I left everything was still okay
Marcia shook her head "we were asleep then next thing we heard screams and then the guards invaded our rooms. They took us here fast but we didn't miss the chaos that was taking place outside. There were banshees everywhere, hundreds of them."
"where did you go? Did your plan work?" Hakim asked with raised eyebrows
I felt like screaming, we needed more time, now everything was going so wrong "yes... We awakened him but something is not right about the hunter. This feels so wrong."
Amara quickly hugged me "you did it! As long as he destroys them everything will be just fine.You have saved us Lu!"
