Chapter 96
I woke up to a lot of yelling but I knew Amara was part of the commotion going on outside that door. After all she has always been part of some drama going on. My vision was a bit blurry but luckily I could see better now and the pain in my body was faint.
I adjusted my body and sat up straight, it was quite painful adjusting my sitting position but I was curious to know why my friends were arguing so I got up from the bed. Curiosity had the best of me despite the pain I was experiencing whilst moving my legs.
I walked towards the door,stood there and began to listen to their voices. Amara did most of the talking "We are not going anywhere without her! No fucking way!" She screamed
Hakim groaned "keep your voice down besides we all know we don't have a fucking choice. In fact you and her might actually be stuck here with these monsters"
"Guys relax, I am sure we can figure this out" said Marcia
Amara scoffed "figure this out?How in the world are we going to figure this disaster out! It is us against all those animals!" She groaned
"I cannot believe this ,we are fucked"
"Stop being so dramatic,this is also Lucy's choice and I am sure she will always want to be with us." Persius cut in.
I opened the door finally done trying to make out their whole conversation "what exactly is my choice?"
There was silence as everyone looked at me as if they had seen a ghost. Amara squealed as she hugged me "Oh my Gosh thank God you are fine! I was so worried, I mean we were all so worried!"
"Welcome back to the world of the living" Hakim smiled and I smiled back at all of them. I was actually glad they were all fine.
"How are you feeling?" Amara asked with concern showing deeply in her eyes.
I smiled at her "I'm okay,why are you shouting ?"
"I don't think we should be talking about this right now,you need to rest more" Trevor said standing closer to me.
I looked up at him,now I was really concerned and I definitely knew I wasn't going to like what they had to say "seriously guys what the hell is going on?"
"Lucy, it's nothing good and you are not well. You shouldn't be stressing" Marcia cut in
"Oh come on people she is going to find out one way or the other!" Hakim said and he stood in front of me with a frown "That dickhead Alpha of theirs just asked us to leave you here because he can't control his animal urges. Apparently the dog needs you here so he feels content"
"Hakim that is not what he said" Amara said in a bored tone
I scrunched up my eyebrows "He can't keep me here without my approval"
"Actually he can,he is an animal and you are nothing. No offense..." Marcia said
It sucked that she was correct,at this point in my life I now understood that humans were just insects in the beasts eyes. However I knew I wasn't in good books with my mate so him wanting me to stay here was bothering me. I didn't want to be separated from my new family. We had gone through so much together and they never abandoned me even in tough times. The Alpha King would not separate us,never.
"Where is he ! I am not going to let him separate us,no fucking ways" I said in a low voice.
"Oh and Amara has a mate here,the second lead dog" Hakim added on.
I widened my eyes, was fate fucking with us! This was terrible, this made us leaving this place ten times harder-almost impossible. I breathed out loud as Amara stared at me with a frown plastered on her face.
She fiddled with her fingers "it's not as bad as it seems...right?"
"Oh it's worse than being bad Mara,this is beyond bad" I told her.
"Why aren't you in your bed?" We suddenly heard a voice behind me. My heart almost flew out of my chest as I snapped my neck to look at 'him'
"Jesus Christ! Where did you come from..." Amara screamed but he ignored her existence as he dragged me back to the bed I woke up from.
"Stop,wait I need to talk to you" I said as I tried getting out of his hold
He grabbed my waist and placed me on top of the bed "talk." he said in his deep voice. It sounded more of like a command.
I swallowed as I avoided eye contact with him,his eyes made me very nervous. In fact his whole presence made me feel nervous and suddenly I forgot were I put my courage. He made me weak and I hated that, I had gone through a lot without him. I was strong and if he was able to make me forget my strength then I definitely had to be far from him. Far from his kind, I needed to stick to my people instead.
" I cannot stay here,you know that. There is no reason for me to stay any longer. I am well now" I told him
I could feel his gaze,he looked so bored and annoyed at the same time after what I had just said. It felt like ages before he finally said something " You cannot leave,"
Now I was annoyed ,that was not the answer I was looking for "why? I have been out there for a long time now. Why can't I go back"
"It is not safe and it obvious that you are incapable of taking care of yourself" he replied folding his large arms
I wanted to scoff "since when does that matter to you? You let me go once ,just do it again"
"No"
