Chapter 95
"What is wrong with her?" I heard his voice ask sternly but it sounded so distant however I knew he was close, I could feel it despite the excruciating pain my whole body was experiencing.
"She has lost a lot of blood Alpha and there seems to be some sort of poison in her surrounding the wound on her leg but I have managed to stop the spreading of the poison. It will take a few days to completely make sure I have gotten rid of it all," I heard another unfamiliar male voice.
I tried opening my eyes but the effort was in vain. I had questions too especially about this poison and about these monsters but somehow my body wasn't functioning at all no matter how hard I tried to move.
"Make sure it's all gone and make sure she stays alive. Take blood samples and figure out where this poison came from as soon as possible. Come to me directly with that information,is that understood?"
The doctor sounded a little shaken as he answered his king,it was as if his life was on the line but then again maybe it would be if he defied his leader, "yes Alpha I will come to you directly"
AMARA'S POV
"He cannot just forbid us from seeing her!" I shouted in anger. Yes, I was extremely aggravated because this so called leader refused our request to see my best friend who just passed out .
Hakim sighed "relax Mara she will be fine,besides if they wanted us dead we would have been dead already. They probably have better use for us or something."
My stomach dropped at his last statement "them having better use for us humans does not make me feel any better at all,in fact it makes me feel even worse" I said pacing in the room where a bunch of guards had left us. It looked like an empty room with a few office chairs.
Hakim shrugged "well let's wait and see then. There's no use in worrying about a future you do not know at all"
Before I could answer him a gigantic man walked in.Somehow I wasn't afraid of him at all,he froze in his spot for a second that seemed like a whole entire minute for me. The worst part was the way he looked at me as if he was confused about something. He shook his head for a second and growled.
"Impossible" he said staring at me. Before I could question him about what he meant the leader walked in.
"What is impossible beta" he asked the same question I had in mind.
The beta shook his head "There must be some sort of a mistake Alpha,"
"Answer my question" the Alpha said sternly looking at his beta. They were both very big men but the beta looked more bulkier but slightly shorter than his leader.
"Her," he said nodding his head in my direction "She can't be mine. Melissa is already my true mate,there must be a mistake my king."
The King widened his eyes slightly in shock then he sighed "the Goddess doesn't make mistakes besides we both know Melissa was never really yours"
"But she is ...human" the beta spat the last word in disgust I almost felt ashamed of what I was...almost.
"Excuse me...if you really are talking about me like I think you are just know that I do not care about whatever business that is and you can stop discussing about me. Better yet just take us to our friend and we will leave immediately." I said out loud and everyone stared at me as if I had grown three heads.
"Amara!" Blake whispered harshly holding my arm.
The beta growled loudly glaring at the hand Blake had on my arm "she is also disrespectful"he growled
I rolled my eyes "oh bite me!" I said regretting my words immediately remembering that he was actually capable of doing it .
"Perfect!" he growled as his eyes turned two shades darker,he took a step forward but fortunately his Alpha grabbed his arm.
The Alpha shook his head "Don't do something you will regret Lewis,take some time out...right now"he said leaving room for no debate. The Alpha really seemed like a sensible man it made me wonder how Lucy had gotten on his bad side. She never told anyone the full story.
The beta who I now knew as Lewis seemed to be having a difficult time with his order but after a few seconds of staring at me like some hot bacon he walked out very fast. Leaving us with the leader.
"Your friend will be fine but up until she is fully recovered you will all be my guests. No one will harm you unless you provoke them, I advice that you stay in your given room's until further notice. You will be called for questioning about these...monsters that you encountered" he said patiently watching us with his silver grey eyes that seemed to penetrate through our souls.
As I watched him I realized why he was the leader,there was something so calming yet controlling and strong within him. It made me feel small yet comfortable and protected in his presence but I knew better. Only his people and his kind deserved to feel that way. On the other hand us 'humans' had to know our place in his presence. We were nothing but prey, small and helpless in his presence. He could step on us at any minute if he wanted to and we would cease to exist .
Persius nodded his head "After she is well can we visit her?"
The king snapped his head in his direction "yes you may"
"And can we leave?" Marcia added immediately
"Yes you can leave but as for her it is unlikely that my wolf would want her out there facing whatever those monsters are. However like I said the rest of you may leave."he said before stepping out leaving us in pure shock.
"Lucy is definitely not going to like this." Hakim said lowly .
