Chapter 58
***LUCY'S POV***
After a long hot relaxing shower I decided to finally exit the bathroom even if I wanted to stay longer I knew it was wiser not to. I already took a risk using his shower,I didn't need him to walk in on me in his shower. I wore my new brown plain uniform and brushed my pitch black hair which turned into wet wavy large curls.I sighed and got out of the bathroom only to be met by a wide eyed blond young maid.
I screamed, "Jesus Christ!"
She didn't even move or blink "what,what were you doing -in-the...Kings bathroom?"she stuttered in shock. She looked really young,maybe fifteen or sixteen.
"I was just taking a shower,what are you doing in here?"I asked her calmly still holding a hand on my chest were my heart felt like popping out.
"I was told to come in here and show you around the Kings quarter's . Emma sent me,but you!You shouldn't use anything of the Kings!"She told me still in shock,"He will smell you all over his stuff and kill you in a heart beat,the king is very strict about his belongings and stuff!"
I couldn't breathe,my heart was beating way too fast. Surely I was about to have a heart attack,would he really hurt me for using the shower?I did clean everything after using it,oh my gosh he was going to kill me-ofcourse!I got too comfortable just because he let me share a room with him and bed which he obviously shared with some whores. I felt disgusted and scared-definetely scared.
"What do I do?I don't want to die-i didn't know."I said in barely a whisper,death was something I was scared of my whole life but I knew I was gonna die one day especially in a world filled with werewolves,monsters, although this girl didn't seem harsh like the others.
She looked at me with actual pity,"Lucky for you I have just the trick to solve your little problem.''she said taking out a small bottle of spray. The liquid inside the bottle was colourless.
"What is that?"I asked in curiosity eyeing the bottle in her hand.
"Whenever I enter a room I'm not supposed to,I use this to block my scent. Don't ask me which room,just show me each and every room you entered here."she said seriously.
I nodded and showed her the walk in closet,then the toilet and bathroom plus the shower. She sprayed each of the rooms,the spray smelled like lavender it was amazing.
"The lavender scent will be gone in an hour and with your scent as well. Don't ever make the same mistake you just did."she said sternly.
"So where do servants take their showers and stuff?"
"There is a shower room up here for maids and servants that work directly for the king. These maids are usually not omegas,they are just normal wolves trying to earn a living.They get higher salaries and they are treated well.However I would suggest you avoid that area,the top maids here are very cruel and harsh . I am just an Omega and they treat us like trash!They are cruel,I usually use the pond at the back of the castle,nobody ever goes there especially around noon and early in the morning,"she said biting her lip nervously "At noon most people will be at training especially the males and early in the morning around 2am they will be sleeping accept for the patrol but they won't be anywhere close to the pond,you just have to know your timing."
I nodded at her,it didn't sound too bad. I was used to waking up really early anyways but I still cringed at the thought of bathing in a damn pond."okay,that doesn't sound too bad."
"Yeah,it isn't except for the cold water. I heard humans have very sensitive skin especially to the cold,anyways let me show you what you will be doing today."she said leading me out of the room. We passed the guards and they didn't even regard us. They were like statues.
The Kings quarter's were amazing. He had a lot of rooms up here,from bedrooms to three private kitchens. Everything looked classy and much different from the lower floors.We entered a large dining room,I noticed that everything on this floor was mainly gold,grey or just white. The dining area had yellow flowers,golden chairs and a large wooden table that could accommodate more than twenty people.
"You start in here,dust,sweep and make sure the room is spotless."
I nodded at her "yes ma'am"
"No ways,call me Mary,now come I will show you the next room you will clean."she said with a smile and I almost choked on my saliva.Shouldn't she be trying to rip my head off or something!
I followed her but I was still trying to figure out why this Mary was so nice to me-a human slave.We walked in one of the beautiful kitchens,it was amazing. White and silver grey counters,two large touch screen 4plate black stoves and expensive stainless steel equipment decorated the room.
"Wow..."was the only worse that could only come out of my mouth right now.
"I know,I know. I have been were you are right now. You will get used to it eventually."she said looking at my facial expression.
"Right."I said still admiring everything in the room.
She smiled "okay,so you will only be doing the cleaning. The top maids are the only ones allowed to prepare the royals food.Your job is to come after they are done messing up the room and clean until the room is spotless. You will be helped by a few other maids, understood?''
"Yes,I understand."I wanted to die,chores and more chores were given to me. I had to sweep the halls,wash the Kings clothes,dust fancy portraits hanging on the golden walls,empty the trash and clean the public showers used by maids. It was just horrible to be honest.
"Don't look so dreadful,you will get used to it. We all did,"Mary said as she walked me to my first assigned room which was the large dining room.Well Mary was probably forgetting that I was human and I would get extremely exhausted.That is why I was looking so dreadful,if these chores don't kill me then the lycans probably will .
I nodded at the girl as we reached the dining room."Okay then I will see around ,you are automatically dismissed around midnight when the royals are sleeping and nolonger require too much of your services. Be safe,avoid the royals as much as you can and just try not to piss anyone off."
I sighed at her,so many rules to follow. "Okay ,thank you for the heads up Mary."
She smiled at me again and I had to hold my breath. It's not everyday that you meet a nice werewolf,"Sure,I don't like it when defenceless people are bullied and killed. It would be so easy to end your life but the king somehow decided to keep you alive so be grateful. Be strong and try to survive. Bye!"she said walking away after giving me a small wave.
I smiled and waved at her. She was right about me being lucky to be alive but the thing is I didn't want to be lucky. I was tired of being lucky,I just wanted to rest forever . Eternal peace is something I was craving so badly,I don't know how long I could continue to be strong and tough. I was just human after all. One thing was for sure,I would end my existence before they destroy me.I thought,feeling for the sharp razor blade I had hidden in my bra,the one place the stupid guards hadn't bothered to search.
I swept the dining room floor covered in ceramic tiles just like most of the rooms in the castle,I moped the floor and began dusting. I was grateful I hadn't met any werewolves for hours, I passed a few who didn't pay any attention to me. Some would scrunch their noses in disgust and walk away whispering to themselves. I felt so out of place,so lonely and neglected.Being iscolated from others is just the worst feeling ever but I had to get used to it or die .
