Chapter 97
"He said no?" Amara asked in horror.
I looked at her in total annoyance,this was the third time she was asking me this question "Yes Amara for the hundredth time he said I cannot leave this place because I am incapable of looking after myself"
"But...but we can't stay here what do we do next?" She asked pacing back and fourth in the room I was in. She had refused to leave my room even after everyone else insisted on letting me rest. She wanted to make sure I was okay and obviously interrogate me about what the Alpha king had said about leaving. She was impatient like that.
"I don't know what we are going to do but we are not staying here,not for long. We will figure this out" I told her
She sat on the bed next to me and sighed "How is it possible that humans are mated to animals. It's becoming a thing now isn't it?"
She was right,it was becoming a disastrous thing.This was not supposed to happen at all "Amara I won't let anything happen to you,just make sure you stay low and you control your temper.We will be out of here very soon"
Amara sighed but nodded her head "I will try but if that monster tries anything with me I won't stand down. Those things killed my whole family and I can never forget that. I will only try to control myself for you and for our family"
"Where are the kids!" I asked in horror suddenly remembering they weren't close to me anymore.
"Relax they are safe in a very luxurious room playing. They don't even realize the kind of danger we are in for now."she said biting her lip.
I groaned "I want to see them,I cannot rest until I see them"
"They aren't letting anyone in"
"So how do you even know they are okay!What if they are not!" I exclaimed,this was horrible those monsters couldn't possibly be good with kids.
She sighed "They showed them to us before taking us away from them. They want to use them against us,if we try and escape or anything funny then they said they would hurt them"
I stood up and started pacing "we need to leave right now. Do you know where they are?" I asked her sternly.
"No,we were blind folded when they took us there.Didn't see shit,they are clever Lucy"
"Take me to the others ,we can't stay here at all and we need to get the children before something bad happens." I said
Something bad always happened with these animals,they had no hearts and that is why I had to get the kids. They might just hurt them. I have watched it happen before on my tenth birthday. They ripped all my tiny friends to pieces ,I can remember their screams and the blood splattering everywhere.I couldn't imagine the twins being torn to pieces like that!
"Are you sure you want to be moving around in your state Lu?"Amara asked genuinely concerned
I didn't have time to be sick "I'm ok let's go" I said slipping out of the funny blue gown they had dressed me in. I quickly slid into my ripped jeans and t-shirt.
"Okay,here wear these"she said handing me my black boots.
We made our way out of the room. Luckily there were no guards or some sort of security roaming the corridor or outside the door which made our journey to the others easier. It was so weird to be back here again. I could clearly remember each corner of some places I had been to.
"Let's turn here" Amara said as we got to the end of the corridor and there was a door there.
"This is where they are keeping you guys?" I asked curiously. When they brought me here they made me a servant and they made me sleep with the other servants. But here I am again with my friends and they were being treated ...nice which was kind of disturbing.
Amara shook her head as she knocked on the large door "yeah it's actually not so bad,the room is large and they gave us lots of food to chew on"
I scrunched up my eyebrows...nice and food with these monsters didn't fit well. "That's ...new" I said and the door was suddenly opened disturbing my thoughts for a second
"Lucy!" Marcia squealed and I shook my head at her excitement. I seriously thought we were over everyone being excited about me not dying today.
"I am okay,how is everyone else?" I asked as she let me in
Persius chewed on a toothpick with his feet up on a black stool "we all good here"
"Great because we are leaving like right now" I said dead serious.
"Uh right now? Do you know how dangerous that is and we don't even have a plan" Hakim said folding his arms. He stared at me as if I was being ridiculous.
I glared at him "Being here is more than dangerous Hakim,we have to get the twins and leave this place"
"What about the banshees,we are in more danger out there than we are here apparently"he said
Trevor folded his arms as he leaned on the wall "plus my brother is still in bad shape to be running around and those banshees will surely eat us all"
"I cannot believe you guys are actually considering staying here!" I said in horror
"We are not Lucy but this is a bad time to be out there with those things roaming around. Don't you think it's wiser to use them and their resources for our protection?" Trevor said confidently
I frowned at him "Use them how?" I wondered ,how could we possibly use such monsters...it's a game we would never win "they don't even believe the banshees exist"
"They want to find out more about the banshees,we help them while they keep us here for as long as it takes. Until my brother regains consciousness,we find the kids and plan a proper escape plan" Trevor said with a smirk on his face and I suddenly remembered why he was my favorite.
"That sounds like a plan" I smirked
