Chapter 135

"getting torn to shreds by a bunch of werewolf warriors is not cool Marcia." Amara commented in a lazy tone. She wasn't in the mood to debate with our crazy friend. Marcia could be a bit over the top sometimes. We should have thought about this before dragging her here. Now the tables had turned on us, damn.

Marcia rolled her eyes "come on you two, aren't you the ones who were going on and on about how they wouldn't hurt the Kings guests?" she said holding her waist.

I wanted to laugh at her posture but I was still thinking about how I was going to drag her out of here. This was a bad idea. Amara cleared her throat and we both looked at her. She was avoiding someone...the beta. I hadn't really asked her about their situation. I have been caught up in so many things I didn't even know how my best friend was dealing with everything.

He walked towards us with a serious face as if he meant business. He looked at Amara for a second while she was acting as if the floor was the most interesting thing she has ever seen. Well this was definitely weird, they were acting strange. Amara was never the one to shy away from men or fear them. Soon I would find out why she was being this way.

"what are you doing down here?" he asked with a straight face.

I wanted to tell him that it was none of his business but after staying here for a while I learned that everything we did was the high ranking wolves business especially since I had everything to do with their King.

I looked at him since it looked like nobody else was going to answer him. I decided to do that job "we were hoping to do some sort of training or exercise. Since we will be staying here for a while we might as well take part in some sort of physical activity" I told him

He didn't seem to buy it but he didn't object or anything so that was a good sign. "I don't think this will be good for you. Humans and werewolves don't mix in training for a reason. We have special dates for that but the humans here are allowed to train."

"really? As in using weapons and all!" Marcia asked, her mood was suddenly from a 0 to a 100.

The beta maintained his serious facade "yes, follow me. I will show you were you are supposed to be if you are really interested in fighting."

"wow I can't believe humans have so much freedom here" Amara commented as we followed the beta.

He looked at her and I think I saw a smile... Or maybe it was my imagination playing some sort of trick on me. "Oh they are very free, we even have human warriors. Warriors that pledge to serve the king. Some even guard the King but you wouldn't notice because they blend in so well"

I widened my eyes "No ways, Really? Why would humans ever pledge to serve your kind. No offense but I just don't get it, that's a bit extreme" I said in disbelief.

I mean it took me forever to try and forgive werewolves for what they did to my world. They destroyed everything I have ever cared for. To be honest sometimes I get this slight hatred in my heart when I think of it so I try not to ever think of what I lost because of these creatures.

All I ever tell myself everyday is to move on with a positive mind and a positive heart. Now I don't hate them as such I just think that this is our world now and we have to live with it. Try to find a way to move forward with them existing in it. However I do not understand why humans would ever serve them, it just doesn't make sense.

"everyone has their story. It might not make sense to you why they would serve our king but trust me when I tell you that they have their valid reasons. He is a Savior to most of your people," he explained as he took a right turn and gestured for us to follow him. "hundreds of humans come here to seek rufuge each month and the King takes them in without a second thought. To you he is a monster but to them he is their hero"

I bit my lip as I digested the information being fed to me. This was all new to me, never in a thousand years would I have ever thought of the Lycan King as a kind and heroic figure. It just didn't sit well with me because I grew in a world were the werewolves were villains and the humans were victims. That is how it worked but it seems like the tables kept turning.

"It is going to take me a long ass time to ever see your kind as heroes. It's kind of crazy if you asked me" Marcia commented and I gave her the 'behave'  look. She had a loose mouth sometimes and it always got her into big trouble.

"that is understandable. It is also going to take most our kind a long time to consider you as good souls. To them you are a curse, beings that bring badluck with them." the beta said as he led us into a building.

I could hear sounds of people training and shouting. I smiled because I felt like Marcia was going to love this so much.    '' oh Come on we are not bad luck! Why would they come up with such bullshit'' Marcia said rolling her eyes. I mentally face palmed, this girl!

"yeah like seriously that's ridiculous. I actually expected better from your kind." Amara said shaking her head. These girls were going to get us killed one day, luckily the beta didn't seem phased by their tone.

We walked into a large room, it looked like a gym. Women and some men were training so hard. The smell of sweat suffocated the whole room it made me feel like puking however what the beta said next made me forget all that.

" well it's your kind that started all of this and you shouldn't be in the training room in your condition'' he said sternly staring at me.
