Chapter 204

The morning sun bathed the pack in a warm glow, but there was an underlying tension that hung in the air. Whispers and glances followed me wherever I went, the pack's heightened senses undoubtedly detecting the recent completion of the mating bond with Roman.

Ella, with her mischievous smile, sidled up to me. "Well, well, Iris. You've been busy, haven't you?" Her eyes sparkled with amusement, and I couldn't help but roll mine.

"I have no idea what you're talking about," I retorted, feigning innocence, though the undeniable scent of Roman clung to me like an invisible cloak.

Ella laughed, a knowing look in her eyes. "Don't try to hide it. You smell just like him. The whole pack can practically taste your recent... activities."

I grimaced, realizing there was no escaping the heightened senses of the pack. "It's not like I had a choice in the matter."

Ella nudged me playfully. "Well, embrace it! You're the Luna now, and that comes with certain... privileges."

The day unfolded like a comedy of errors. Every corner I turned, Roman seemed to materialize, an amused smirk playing on his lips. My wolf was more than eager to bound over and nuzzle against him, but I maintained a strategic distance. The pack watched the unfolding spectacle with amusement, their knowing glances and barely contained laughter adding fuel to my frustration.

At one point, I sought refuge in the pack library, hoping for a moment of solitude. Alas, Roman managed to find me, his presence announcing itself long before he entered the room.

"Can't escape me, Iris," he teased, leaning against the doorframe. I scowled, attempting to focus on the book in my hands, my wolf itching to pounce on him.

"You're like a bad smell that won't go away," I muttered under my breath.

He chuckled, crossing the room to stand beside me. "A bad smell you secretly enjoy."

My cheeks flushed, but I refused to give him the satisfaction of a response. Roman, however, seemed determined to make my day more challenging. The guy was literally everywhere and it was incredibly getting harder to avoid him.

Later, during pack training, he paired with me for sparring, a wicked glint in his eyes. The pack watched with bated breath as our playful banter escalated into a full-blown wrestling match. Laughter echoed through the training grounds as Roman pinned me to the ground, a triumphant grin on his face.

I groaned, trying to wriggle free. "This is not fair, Roman."

He leaned down, his lips dangerously close to my ear. "Life's not fair, Iris."

As the day unfolded, I couldn't escape the magnetic pull between us. The pack celebrated the mating bond, their laughter and cheers accompanying my attempts to evade Roman's teasing advances. Ella winked at me, a silent acknowledgment of the rollercoaster my life had become.

In the quiet moments, I couldn't deny the flutter of excitement beneath my skin. It's like although the pack disliked me they still had some sort of hope that eventually I would give in and I would be their perfect Luna. I swallowed hard because I couldn't help the fear of disappointing them and myself. I was far from perfect ...I was broken.

I had finally managed to get away from Roman and Ella for atleast an hour . I knew he was going to find me eventually but I decided to stay in the laundry room for a bit longer. I highly doubted he would bother coming down here  ,it was beginning to feel like a game of hide and seek with the notorious Alpha.

Just as I was about to leave I felt his breath right behind me, he was fast and almost like a ghost. If I wasn't his mate I wouldn't have known he was here. I sighed as I turned around to face him . "Are you stalking me...Alpha"

He smirked as he played with a strand of my red curl "stalking...my own mate. Now why would I stalk whats mine"

"I am not property ,I am not yours" I said as I tried to pass through him but he blocked my way.

The air crackled with tension as Roman cornered me, his intense gaze locking onto mine. "You can't keep avoiding me, Iris," he growled, his voice low and commanding. His scent enveloped me, and I couldn't deny the magnetic pull that drew me closer.

"Why are you making this so difficult?" he demanded, frustration evident in his eyes. Before I could answer, he closed the distance between us, his strong arms trapping me against the wall.

I felt the sparks, the undeniable connection between us igniting. "Roman, I—" My words were cut off as his lips crashed onto mine in a fierce, possessive kiss. His hands gripped my waist, and I surrendered to the intoxicating blend of desire and frustration.

When he finally pulled away, his eyes burned with intensity. "Why fight it, Iris? We're mates. It's inevitable."

I couldn't bring myself to speak, but my eyes conveyed a storm of emotions. Roman leaned in again, his lips brushing against mine with a gentler touch. "Let go of whatever's holding you back," he whispered, his breath sending shivers down my spine.

My wolf yearned for him, the connection between us demanding acknowledgment. Yet, my human side clung to the shadows of the past, to a time when love meant betrayal and pain.

Roman's hands traced a fiery path along my skin, leaving me breathless. "Iris, I can feel the passion between us. Why deny it?"

As he spoke, the flames of desire licked at my resolve. I searched his eyes, finding sincerity and a raw hunger that mirrored my own. He wasn't asking for permission; he was claiming what was rightfully his.

The room spun as Roman's lips found mine again, igniting a blaze that consumed us both. Our bodies pressed together, an unspoken understanding passing between us. In that heated moment, my defenses crumbled, and I let myself succumb to the undeniable pull of fate.

As we kissed, time seemed to stand still. The clash of emotions within me gave way to a powerful connection that transcended words. Roman's fingers traced patterns on my skin, leaving a trail of heat in their wake.

When we finally broke apart, I found myself breathless, my heart pounding with a rhythm that echoed his. Roman's eyes bore into mine, a silent promise that left me both vulnerable and exhilarated.

"Iris," he murmured, his voice a soft caress, "don't fight this. We're destined to be together."
