Chapter 87
I was pacing back and fourth. Thank God I had found a pair of jeans and a tank top. I couldn't stand being in a dress at this moment. Sharma gave me up until tomorrow to tell the King the truth,somehow she trusted that Alexander would help me fix things without killing me. However I had a feeling that this time he would kill me without thinking twice.
From what I have heard so far Alexander loved his people. He sacrificed a lot for his people even his first love Iris. He would do it again,he would kill me. I didn't want to confess because deep inside I didn't want to die but I wasn't raised to be a wicked person. If I let this war happen ,that meant all those kids would die or lose their home. Even my people,they were so young and they deserved to live.
I laughed as I wiped a stray tear. I have already lived quite a dramatic life. I have seen everything that I have had to see,maybe it was my time to finally find peace in death. I wasn't like Iris who would massacre even her own kind to survive and for power. I was me and I had to make sure that my people would find peace here. Those kids would live in peace and Alexander would continue to make a better world for the human race and the werewolf race.
I walked out of his room,he wanted me to rest but I wouldn't. I would only rest once I was dead and my people safe. I walked fast,I had to see Mason and Sophie. They had to know there was a better way to survive without running away and heading out to an ugly world .
The guards watched me as I came closer to the door. "I am here to visit my friends"
They nodded and knocked on the door. Mason answered the door and he let me in. He closed the door and Sophie increased the volume on the TV. I sat on the couch and they did the same. I spoke first "We can't do this,this is wrong. Causing a war is wrong."
Sophie scoffed "Now you see how wrong it is to cause a war .When I said it you all brushed me off. What's done is done and this war is happening. There is nothing you can do to stop it Lucy so get over it."
"Sophie is right. We killed the warrior and dumped his body there. They think their rivals did it as planned. Everything is working out too well. Why do you want us to stop when we are so close to being free?" Mason asked a little upset but I could see he was trying to understand me.
I sighed out loud "I saw it Mason. This place is not just a home to werewolves,they take care of humans as well. There is a place were human children are taken care of and they have human tutors that tell them great stories. They don't even harm us,look at you right now. He hasn't harmed you. Your baby Sophie,she could grow up well here with friends and we don't have to hide in a hideous world searching for scraps of food. This is what Benjamin," I explained trying to make them understand but Sophie cut me off.
"Don't you fucking dare bring Benjamin into this,those humans staying here have betrayed their own kind. I will not live amongst murderers. I will not raise my child amongst these monsters. You promised to get us out of here and you will do well to keep that promise. That is what Benjamin would have wanted." She said raising her voice a little in anger.
Mason looked at her then back at me "Lucy I understand that you are scared,maybe because a war is a big deal but it is for the best. It is too late to back down now like cowards. They will kill us once they find out that we killed one of their best warriors. They will kill us all and I cannot risk that happening. Do you understand were I'm coming from?" he asked begging me to just agree with him,I could see it in his eyes. The desperation for me to be by their side and to see this through.
I really wanted to agree with them,to be their heroe but I had to save a lot of people not just them. My kind mattered ,all of them not just Mason and Sophie.
"I will take the blame,I will admit to killing Daniel so that I could start a war inorder for my escape plan to work. They won't harm you. You will stay here and gain their trust. Eventually they will let you stay here freely and there won't be any need for a war." I told them. Yes, I had it all figured out and this plan would surely work. Alexander is a good king and I know that he would do anything to keep the peace in this world. However his beta would kill me and Iris would probably rejoice in my death.
Mason stood up suddenly in anger,he faced me "So you think you can play heroe all of a sudden. Lucy they will kill you. They will ask you who helped you because obviously you do not expect them to believe a young human girl who probably weighs 54kgs murdered one of the king's best warriors. Your plan will get us killed either way."
I stood up and moved closer to him. I held his hands and his eyes softened "this is for the best. I will make sure I don't expose any of you. Mason I can not live with myself knowing that I am the reason behind millions of people dying. Please let me do this,let me save you all." I begged him
He smiled down at me as he kissed my lips softly taking me by surprise. He removed his mouth from mine and whispered "I am sorry but I will not lose you" suddenly he stabbed my neck with a needle and everything went black.
