Chapter
We were so comfortable it felt so foreign but amazing. For the first time I felt like I didn't need to worry about hunting for food or being attacked by rogues in the middle of the night. I smiled as I watched Marcia pick out some strawberries from a basket on the table. She seemed to like them a lot. Trevor had a book in his hand, he seemed less worried about his brother now and honestly even I was less worried. I knew he would be taken better care of by the medical team here than us.
"What are you thinking about?" Hakim asked curiously staring at me with one raised eyebrow.
I smiled at him "nothing important I swear"
"It feels important" he said folding his arms "are you plotting something?"
Before I could answer him a large man walked in and we all looked at him "Follow me"
We all became alert as we stood up from our positions and followed the man out. We passed through a long corridor and it took us a few minutes to reach the destination he was leading us to. He opened two double doors that revealed a room that looked like a large office. The King-Alexander was seated behind a large leather chair and two familiar faces sat in front of him on two smaller leather chairs. It was the red headed lady Karen and the other guy I didn't like ,Vladimir.
"You may enter" the man who took us there said before leaving and closing the door behind us after we entered fast.
"You may take a seat on the couch,we have a few things we need to discuss" Karen said in a soft silky voice, she sounded a bit nicer but I knew better than to believe she was actually nice.
We followed her instruction and sat down on a large couch that was in the room. I let my eyes roam around everywhere but 'him', the room was definitely an office with two book shelves, an actual computer and a laptop that had me wondering how those still existed or worked in this new era. The walls were grey, black chairs and a couch-in fact the theme colors in here were grey and black just like 'him'.
"So you say you were attacked by white...monsters. Tell me more about these white looking monsters in detail."Karen said with her silver eyes staring at each one of us it's as if she could read souls or something.
I cleared my throat after realizing nobody wanted to be the one to talk at this point. We all felt so intimidated by these three individuals, they screamed 'Power'
"They are called bad banshees, they are white-so pale and they have these razor sharp nails and teeth. I am betting they are venomous since I got so sick. They also make the loudest screeching sounds it will have your ears bleeding" I explained as best as I could.
"Well this just sounds ridiculous, where did you encounter these things?" Vladimir spoke and I felt like punching him in the face.
I glared at him for a second before looking away, I knew how staring or looking at these creatures provoked them "In the forest back where we stayed but that is not important what's important is that they are here somehow. They are spreading and that is not a good thing" I said although I wanted to add on how it wasn't a good thing especially for me and my family since we already had enough monsters to deal with in this world.
"What were you doing again in our territory, you obviously led them here. That's if you are even telling the truth in the first place" he said with a growl and suddenly I felt Alexander's gaze on me.
Karen sighed "obviously the girl didn't poison herself Vladimir and that poison is rare. It's like nothing we have ever seen before."
"They are humans Karen,do not be so naive after all they like inventing things. They are the most untrustworthy creatures in this world and you of all people should know that" he said in an annoyed tone.
I looked at him a bit taken back by the level of hate he had for my kind. I knew my kind was in the wrong for experimenting and messing with nature at some level but so was their kind. Nobody was ever right but judging one race for an individual's wrong doings was just wrong and stupid.
Karen growled at him "you shouldn't mix your personal feelings and this matter Vladimir, this is something serious and if we ignore this matter our kind might be in great danger. Why don't you learn to use your brain for once!"
"And what if they are lying to us?what if this is just a set up and these humans have something cooked up for us!" he exclaimed and snapped his head in Alexander's direction before speaking "My King you need to understand that human beings are very dangerous, they are certified liars and you know this. How can we know for sure that this is true.We have never heard of such creatures in all our years of existence"
Alexander folded his arms before staring at us "Answer the question, what exactly where you doing in my territory? Why did you blow up a whole mall?"
"Obviously they were trying to cover their tracks by blowing up the mall. They knew it would block their scent but unfortunately they got caught!" Vladimir spat
"Let them speak for themselves Vladimir" Alexander said and Vladimir went silent
I cleared my throat, I knew that there was only one solution to this debate and after that they would definitely believe us. They had to see the monsters for themselves and I was willing to make them believe. At least this way this would shut Vladimir up for a while until we had a plan to escape.
"It is not true and to prove that these creatures exist I will personally take you to them. After all they are more drawn to the human flesh" I said in confidence and Alexander growled so loud it felt like the room was experiencing an earthquake.
