Chapter 114
"Why do you look like someone who is actually about to drug a werewolf king?" Amara asked suspiciously staring at me. I felt like a kid who just got caught stealing sugar from the kitchen.
I swallowed hard and scrunched up my eyebrows "Oh I would never do such a dumb thing, erhm well I will see you guys later" I said about to run off but dear Amara decided to block my way.
"You are going to do it aren't you!" she said with wide eyes.
Persius scoffed as he watched us "Mara let the girl go of course she wouldn't try drugging a damn werewolf King for goodness sake. Besides she is more rational than you to be honest"
I cringed as I heard him defend me, maybe this was a bad idea. Where was I even going to get sleeping pills around here... Unless I asked that weird doctor of theirs. I'm sure there were a few human patients that needed sleeping pills, they probably suffered from anxiety and insomnia. I would too if I was staying here surrounded by all these animals.
"Amara I will not drug a werewolf Alpha, now I need a bit of air. Let me pass please" I said with a pout just so she could let me go.
She narrowed her eyes at me "Don't do anything stupid"
I nodded my head "of course"
I made my way immediately to the medical center, it was the only place I was going to get what I needed right now. I wasn't doing anything stupid, well maybe this was a bit stupid but it had to be done. If my parents are really alive or if there is even a possibility that they are then this was worth it.
Trusting a witch was foolish but somehow my gut feeling was telling me to trust her on this. She knew something and that something was important to me-I had to know what it was.
I arrived at the medical center, I breathed in deep before entering. There was a man by the reception, he was occupied and clicking a lot of buttons on his computer but he was a werewolf so the moment I entered his head snapped in my direction.
I smiled softly as I walked towards him "hi, I need to get something to help me sleep. I have been having trouble sleeping lately" I told him adding a sad sigh at the end.
He maintained his straight face, clearly he didn't care at all about my problems. "Do you have a prescription from the doctor?" he asked
Shit, I looked at him trying my best to look pitiful "I haven't had a chance to, he is such a busy man and me being human I'm not really his first priority, if you can just help..." before I could finish my statement he quickly cut me off.
"sorry but if you do not have a prescription I cannot help you. Have a good day." he said before returning to whatever business he was dealing with on his screen.
I turned around, this was going to be harder than I thought. As I was walking out I bumped into the doctor and he held my arms before I could hit the ground." The kings mate... What are you doing here" he asked curiously in a soft voice
"I am having nightmares, I can't sleep" I said looking at him with waiting for his reaction.
He nodded his head as he let my arms go "come with me"
I followed him to his office and he let me in "take a sit, how long have you been having these nightmares" he said and I followed his instruction.
I sighed "ever since I found out your King was my mate, they have gotten worse after the banshee attacks". He opened a cabinet and took out a small bottle. It definitely had pills in it.
"I see, how much sleep do you usually get?" he asked taking a small torch from his table. He walked towards me.
"less than 4hours, I usually wake up in the middle of the night after the nightmares." I said, there was some truth in this. I did have nightmares but they never kept me from having enough sleep. I had all the sleep I needed considering this situation, No one was allowed to over sleep,if you did you risked dying.
He stood in front of me."open your eyes wide"
I did that and he looked at them both using his tiny torch. He hummed "you need to try to get some rest, or else you will be prone to getting sick very easily especially considering you are just human."
I nodded my head and he handed me the bottle of pills. "Take half a tablet every night before you sleep, these are quite strong sleeping pills usually used by werewolves. If you take more than that you will hit an overdose. I expect to see you in the next 2days to see how you are doing, If you react in anyways come right back here. Is that Understood? "he asked sternly
" yes doctor, thank you" I said with a smile.
"good, you may leave" he said.
I quickly let the room, I felt like jumping up and down in excitement. I couldn't believe this turned out to be so simple honestly! Now the next step was how to get the medicine in the Kings food or drink. I knew where his room was ,I have been there before as his mate. I just needed a reason to go there again. A reasonable reason, I thought of a plan as I made my way up to his room. 'I am a strong woman' I told myself with each step I took.
I got to his floor and as expected his men were roaming the corridor but they did not say anything to me in fact they just acted as if I did not exist. It was so easy getting to his large doors, there were no guards or anything else stopping me from reaching that point. 'Just knock, you have got this girl' I whispered to myself lowly before knocking the door. It only took literally a second for him to open the door, as if he had already been standing behind it expecting me.
"Hi" I said nervously staring at his mesmerizing silver grey eyes, they almost seemed transparent.
