Chapter 134
"no... But they love him. This is insane," I shook my head in denial. These were his people we were talking about, he has been their King, their leader for ages. How could they possibly want to get rid of him now after he saved them and led them to glory. He defeated the hunter and he got rid of Iris, they should be praising him instead! This was treason... "who exactly is saying this?"
"most people, Noone is exactly sure who the root of all of this is. It could be someone very close or someone out there who is just looking for power and he saw a chance." Amara explained and my heart beat increased. At this point my heart was racing.
I was seeing red."so he saves his people and this is what he gets? He is their only chance at surviving in this world and now they want to defy him, go against him!" I stood up and began pacing. I felt like punching someone in the face, like throwing every furniture in the room on the wall.
"Lu... are you okay?" Marcia asked and I looked at them both. They were watching me carefully with concerned faces.
I breathed in and out. I needed to calm down, but I was so angry I just needed to let out my frustration. "oh yeah I am great, just a bit mad I'm the reason the man who saved me is getting dethroned"
Amara sighed as she stood up and walked to me "it's okay I am sure this is all going to fade away I mean the King is a pretty tough guy to beat and whoever is behind this will be found" she assured me. I had a feeling Amara knew how I was feeling because she was also mated to a werewolf. I nodded my head as I crossed my arms.
Marcia was sitted looking a bit sympathetic even though she didn't fully understand what I was going through. However I appreciated their support it really meant a lot to me that they were here for me. I just needed to figure out why they would want to get rid of their King just like that. Surely it couldn't just be because of me, there had to be something deeper going on.
"I have been here for quite some time now and this issue was never there. Why now, someone is behind this. Someone is trying so badly to get rid of Alex" I thought out loud
"Alex? Don't tell me you have fallen inlove with that monster already" Marcia said standing up
I widened my eyes "it is more complicated than that Marcia trust me. Right now we are all safe because of him don't you get it. If they really do manage to remove him from the throne that would mean we will probably be in big trouble"
She sighed and Amara nodded her head "Lucy is right if anything happens to the king that means things will change and that change won't be good for us. The only reason we are here is because he let us stay."
"so how do we help, do we just sit and wait for something bad to happen?" Marcia asked
"I hate sitting and waiting. It makes me nervous" Amara said biting her lip. To be honest she already looked nervous.
They were right, sitting and waiting was just not my thing as well. I loved having control of some part of my life. The whole waiting thing would kill me with anxiety. I was so glad my friends felt the same way. This is exactly why we were friends.
"me too, I think we should try getting as much information as we can. If we know who is behind this at least we can help Alexander figure out who his enemies are." I said nodding my head,I really liked my idea. I wasn't going to tell Alexander what I was up to because obviously he wouldn't agree with me. Actually he would probably lock me up for the rest of my entire existence.
" we are not exactly invisible Lu... how are we going to get any information?" Marcia frowned
Amara smirked "by fitting in, it is not everyone who hates our kind. The ones that hate us are the ones that don't know us so they fear us instead. You just need to get out there and fit in"
"you are right, we are never going to get anyone to like us if we are locked up in here." I added
"okay I guess you both have a point. I don't even know where to start" Marcia sighed, she was definitely frustrated considering she was naturally not a people's person. She prefered to be alone with less socializing. It took me almost three months to get her to like me.
"you like fighting so join the training grounds. I am sure you will enjoy that, we can even come with you." I said with a smile, she would definitely like this.
She raised an eyebrow at me "you want to get me killed?"
"don't be dramatic they will take it easy on you besides they cannot kill the kings guests" Amara said
Marcia breathed out "fine let's go, I wouldn't mind beating some werewolf ass"
"great!" Amara squealed in excitement
It took us about 10minutes to get to the training grounds. It was amazing watching werewolves fight in their forms while others fought in their human form with spears, some with chains and daggers. They were fast, really fast and strong. Their fighting techniques were so violent they didn't care if they stabbed or scratched each other because they healed so fast.
"maybe this was a bad idea" I stopped as I watched everything
Amara stopped and joined me as well "yeah, they will probably kill us in one go before we even get far. I do not know what we were thinking when we chose to come here" she laughed nervously
"what are you two on about, I am so in! This is so damn cool!" Marcia exclaimed and we both looked at her as if she had grown two heads and wings.
