Chapter 78
"Are you sure you want to do this Lucy?" Mason asked me for the fifth time while walking me to the door.
I sighed with a smile "I have to I already told you Mason.This is for the best plus Sophie has a baby to keep an eye on most of the time.She can't be hunting for the perfect werewolf to seduce,the baby needs her."
He knew I was right.He nodded his head as we stood by the door "Fine,but If anything happens please just let me know-ok?"
"Of course I will,you should also let me know if anything happens here as well."
"I promise I will let you know," he smiled at me. I blushed,I don't know why I was feeling shy all of a sudden.
I looked away avoiding his gaze "Okay,well I have to go now but I will see you again soon"
"Goodbye Lucy,stay safe."
I nodded and walked out making sure I didn't get seen.Sophie had let me borrow her head cloth so I used that to cover my head ,I felt like a real Muslim girl. It was a good disguise,surprisingly most of the guards were nowhere to be seen. I walked faster racing towards the Kings room.On my way there I heard a few male voices talking right ahead of me. I quickly hid by a corner,I was so close to the Kings room.I groaned ,damn it.
"Matt come on man just tell me what they said at the meeting?" one of the men asked,he wore a red hooded sweatshirt and blue denim jeans.
"If you really wanted to know Noah then you should have attended the damn meeting" Matt said with a scoff
Noah growled,he seemed annoyed by what his friend had said "Really,you know why I couldn't come. Sarah needed me and I couldn't just leave her alone with the kids."
Matt rolled his eyes "Fine ,I will tell you but next time you miss a meeting I won't tell you shit.Got it?" he asked sternly
Noah nodded his head fast "Yes I promise dude,now fill me in."
"Fine,so the King has just ordered us to increase the patrol over each border. Any sign of forced or suspicious entry will result in an instant shoot out. Any visits will require proper documentation and confirmation." Matt explained
"That's a bit intense ,are we under some kind of lock down or something.Did he explain why he wants us to instantly shoot people that cross the border without interrogation first.I mean that is a bit uncivilized don't you think." he said scrunching up his blond eyebrows
Matt growled "Do not question our King,you know better than to do that pup! There is obviously a good reason behind his decision to do things this way.We might have a threat on the loose or something like that. He also ordered members of the pack to stay within the border and to minimize traveling outside the border."
"Sounds like a lock down to me." Noah shrugged
"Yeah something is up but orders are orders and we will follow them without questioning him. "
Noah scoffed "You want to act like a fucking zombie about this.Follow orders,don't question the king,don't think about it,just do what you are told with a blind eye.This is dangerous Matt,you need to know why we are being told to shoot our own kind as well ! If it was a mere mundane then fine we could work with that but our own kind...that is just odd"
"Keep talking like that and one day you will surely get yourself killed!" Matt said sternly
"I will be fine Matt don't worry about me" Noah said folding his arms.
Matt rolled his eyes "I am going to get the rest of the men prepared for border patrol,that includes you."
Noah groaned and followed behind as Matt walked forward. I breathed out loud and made my way to his room.There was no one there ,I spotted my food on the table and made my way to it.When I tasted it,the food was already cold but I ate it anyways. I didn't want Alexander to question me about not eating and stuff.
I sat on the bed in my pajamas-legs crossed because I couldn't sleep. If Alexander had 'borders' that meant Mason was going to have a hard time finding out which borders these were,God knows how many borders these men were talking about.The door suddenly opened and I snapped my head in that direction. It was Alexander obviously,he closed the door behind him and walked towards the bed.He kind of looked tired which was odd-I mean did dogs ever get tired...
"Why are you still up this late?"he asked in his deep British accent.
I watched him as he took his shirt off,followed by his shoes that he simply kicked off . "I'm not really tired plus I slept a little after you left" I lied about the last part
He looked at me for a second and walked to his closet were he dumped his shoes before walking back. He sat on the bed next to me,he had already changed into his navy blue silk pajama bottoms.I tried to avoid staring at his naked torso. "You are worried about something" he said staring at me.
"No,I'm not." I lied again.It was becoming a habit to lie every time especially whenever he asked a question.
"If you say so,"he said laying down on his back and closing his eyes instantly.
I scrunched up my eyebrows,that was it?He was seriously sleeping just like that.I looked at him,his body wasn't even in the bed covers but he looked peaceful...beautiful. This man was seriously built to be an angel.My gaze followed the magnificent black ink that started from his neck in circles going down to his torso which was very muscular.The black ink looked so real and it looked alive as if the circles were moving.There were tiny words written in each circle in some foreign language. The ink suited his body very well,he could be mistaken for a Greek God very easily.Why did he have to be some evil werewolf Alpha God or King,whatever they called him!
"Just ask" he said with his eyes perfectly closed .I jumped a little not expecting him to suddenly speak.
"For what?" I asked curiously
"You want to touch the ink-you are curious,then just ask I wont bite-yet" he said with a straight face,one could have thought he was sleep talking.
I cleared my throat "Oh...okay.Can I touch them?"
