Chapter 132

It's funny how your life could just end at any second. Death is so scary, that feeling of leaving the earth and not knowing were you will end up next is horrible. I used to think that death is nothing to be afraid of but damn... I don't want to die anytime soon. I don't want to die at all.

One minute the girl was holding a knife ready to stab me probably a hundred times considering the fact that she blames me for her brother's death and the next minute her body was flying in the air and roughly landing on the hard ground with a loud thud. I opened my eyes wide as I watched the beta drag her by the hair roughly.

She screamed and begged for mercy "please don't hurt me! I was just trying to get justice for my brothers death!" she cried out loud and I shook my head. She was insane if she thought this was right.

I held my stomach unconsciously, it was a new habit of mine. It made me feel better, just holding it made me feel like I was protecting it from the harsh world. The beta handed the girl to the guards and they dragged her away.

He walked towards me fast, he actually looked worried "are you okay?"

Was I okay? Of course not, my heart was racing so fast and my head felt like exploding. Not to mention how exhausted I was with all of this. Things were just going so fast it felt like the world was on a roller coster and it made me want to throw up.

" I am okay, thank you for saving my life... again" I said with a smile. I was really greatful that I had someone on my side here. It wouldn't be great if everyone here hated my guts.

He actually smiled! "it's all good"

I returned the smile with an even wider one before attempting to stand up which turned out to be a disaster. I got a sudden wave of dizziness and it felt like the world was falling. The beta, Lewis immediately grabbed my waist softly before my body could hit the ground.

"it's okay, it's okay I have got you just don't close your eyes okay?" he said carrying me bridal style. I swallowed hard as I nodded my head.

I tried so hard not to close my eyes, I was afraid if closed them now I would never be able to open them again. Everything was blury I felt like I was on some kind of drugs. I concentrated on the betas face he seemed to be saying something. Probably telling me not to close my eyes so I kept nodding well I think I was nodding but I was just so damn tired.

I have never craved sleep this badly before. In a few minutes I was in an extremely white room and it was damn bright. There was a voice and someone checking my eyes with a tiny torch. I just decided to concentrate on the person's voice.

"she seems to be fine, it's nothing serious but it could be if her stress levels remain this high. She needs to get enough sleep, lots of rest and less stress will be good for her. It will be good for your unborn child as well" the feminine voice said softly

"how is the baby?" I heard Alexander ask, he sounded frustrated or stressed out. He didn't sound happy at all.

The woman was quiet for a second before finally answering his question "your baby is okay my king but you need to figure out how you are going to keep her, happy, fed and safe. You also need to bring her in for regular check ups. This is a rare case, you know that"

"you are a doctor are you not? Your job is to make sure she is healthy. That they are healthy. Can you do that or not?" he asked sternly.

The doctor sighed, she sounded frustrated "I will try my best to make sure she is healthy and that your baby is healthy. That does not change the fact that she is a human being carrying a hybrid child. We need to be extremely careful around her that means what happened today can never happen again. "

"I understand that and I will make sure it doesn't happen again. Can I take her now?" he asked softly

" yes, just make sure she gets lots of rest for now before anything else"she instructed. It was weird hearing someone else tell the king what to do. Everyone was so scared of him but since I have been here I have noticed how some people actually talk to him as if they are on the same level at the same time they made sure to acknowledge the fact that he was still their king.

For instance Vladimir and the rest of his council would tell him about pending issues but they always made sure they stayed in line. I tried opening my eyes wide. My vision was still a little bit blury but it was getting better. I could see a bit clearly now, it really sucked that I was in this situation right now. I was starting to hate the smell of medicine.

"hey, how are you feeling now?" Alexander asked while watching me as if I would suddenly fade away if he looked anywhere else.

I felt like I got run down by a huge truck, got hit in the head with a hammer and stabbed everywhere on my body with a fork. "tired" I replied him with a very low voice I could hardly even hear myself but he definitely heard me.

He carried me bridal style "let's take you to bed love. You will be getting so much rest you will start hating the word rest"

I wanted to laugh at that statement but it felt like a whole process so I smiled instead. I rested my head on his chest and I closed my eyes. Around him I wasn't afraid to close them because I felt safe and it felt like heaven being in his arms again.
