"Ma'am are you okay?" A nurse asked, helping Jacqueline up from where she had fallen.
She nodded "I just felt dizzy for a minute." She muttered.
"Perhaps you should run some tests, just to know what's wrong. You look a little pale." The nurses said and before she could finish, Jacqueline was already shaking her head opposing to it.
"I'll be fine, it's probably something I ate. " Jacqueline said, standing upright.
The nurse remains rooted at the spot “I don't think a meal can cause you to be dizzy, ma’am. Won’t you like to get-” before she could finish, Jacqueline raised her palm up “I said am fine! What’s with you doctors and thinking everyone is a patient” she scoffed, walking away. Leaving the doctor surprised.
Jacqueline headed straight for her sister’s ward. Her hand on the doorknob about to open, when she heard voices from inside.
“No” she mumbled, sweat breaking out of her forehead immediately. She knows that voice even if she was in a dream.
Taking a deep breath, she twisted the door open. Just as she predicted, Chain was in the room, with her sister. She had no idea what they were saying, but Jennie was all smiles.
“What’s going on here? “ Jacqueline asked, putting on a smile. If she provoked him, there’s no saying what he would do to her.
“Big sis!!! “ Jennie yelped in excitement, jumping on her.
“Careful baby girl, we don't want you getting hurt” Jacqueline muttered, kissing her forehead. It felt good to hold her sister again when she’s alive and healthy, she badly wanted to enjoy the moment, but Chain's appearance won't let her.
“it's great to see you, Jacqueline “ Chain mumbled, doing a whole body scan on her, smacking his lips.
“Eyes up here, bastard” Jacqueline said, her tone rising a bit.
“Hey, sis. Last time I checked ‘bastard' isn't the right word to use on a long time friend “ Jennie whispered in her ear and she had to fold jennie’s mouth close.
“Listen to the girl, Jacki. That's not the way to receive a guest” Chain said, his gaze not leaving Jacqueline one bit.
“I ask again, what do you want? It’s my welcome and I decide who I give it too. What do you want, chain? “ Jacqueline snapped.
“You’ve grown feisty since we last met. You’ve changed and I badly wanna know if you changed your ability to remember a threat” He said.
“You will get it at the right time, if that’s all, goodbye” Jacqueline stepped aside, pointing at the door.
Chain chuckled “i’m going no where, jay Z, at least not until you tell me something “
Jacqueline threw him a stare and shook her head. Walking to her sister’s bed, she packed Jennie's belonging into a bag and turned to leave, only for chain to pull her back. Jennie had previously left the room, something about getting a snack.
She turned back, snatching her hands away from his grip and pushing him to the wall. “Listen to me, Chain. I might have been a pushover in the past and somehow you got me into this mess, never again. I’m going to finish my end of the bargain and after then, if I so much as sniff you in my life or Alessandro's life i’ll come for you and I'm not kidding, I'll mess up your life” Jacqueline snarled, letting go off him.
Chain winced, holding his arm in pain. “She’s gotten feisty “.
Just as he wanted to make a move, a voice from the doorway reveberated. “What’s going on here?“
Chain paused his movement, raising his head, he saw Alessandro standing at the door.
Jacqueline who was busy packing jennie’s things didn't bother turning, she knew he was following her.
“You again? “ Alessandro asked, his eyes on Chain.
“Uh… I was just cleaning up the room, boss “ he said, stuttering.
Alessandro looked from Chain to Jacqueline and immediately knew something was wrong, he didn't press further and just waited till Jacqueline was done packing. Chain walked out awkwardly when he couldn't stand the stares Alessandro was given him. Funny how he looked braved in front of other people, but when it comes to Alessandro, he cowers. I guess deep down he knew Alessandro knew about his affairs.
With Chain done, it was just Jacqueline and Alessandro left in the room. The silence palpable till Jacqueline broke it “why are you here? “
“For one, I was worried about my girlfriend who was actually feeling insecure and has this stupid idea that am going after her best friend who is actually with my best friend “ he said at once. Jacqueline bit her lip. She believed and knew he would never cheat, she was just looking for something that would drive a wedge between them. It would make the pain and guilt feeling better.
“About that… “ she trailed when Alessandro walked closer to her.
“You don't need to apologize, baby. I know things have been crazy around here, but we would get past it with time.” He said, hugging her.
Their little moment were disrupted with Jennie's squealing.
“Awwn, you both are making me emotional “ she said, fanning herself with her small hands.
“I believe this is the infamous Jennie” Alessandro asked, crouching down to her length.
“Yep” Jennie answered.
“Nice to meet you, i’m Alessandro, your sister’s fiance” he said smiling. There wasn't much resemblance between Jacqueline and Jennie, but you couldn't miss the twinkling in their eyes whenever they smiled.
“Woah, yiy’re handsome” Jennie said in awe, covering her already red cheeks.
Alessandro chuckled at her cheesy remark.
“I am prettier than my sister though, why don’t you switch? ” she asked, making a 360 turn.
“Hey!” Jacqueline who remained silent yelped warningly.
Jennie stuck her tongue out “let the man make his choice”
Jacqueline frowned immediately, looking at Alessandro who was laughing his ass out.
“well, I already made my choice, Jennie “ he said, looking at Jacqueline with love and adoration in his eyes.
Immediately he said that, Jacqueline felt her heart sink
