Chapter 18
Jacqueline got into the car and she shut the door afterwards. She was still enraged by Alexander's actions, that perverted playboy!
Jacqueline reclined her head on the headrest as she tried to enjoy the serenity in the car now that Alexander wasn't around to ruin it.
The good news was that the girl had saved her from being punished by Alexander. She hoped that Alexander would forget about whatever punishment he had been talking about. Jacqueline closed her eyes and just like that, she fell asleep in the car.
30 minutes later, the car came to a steady halt at the parking lot of the mansion. Jacqueline sighed before getting down from the car, everything that happened had been thoroughly exhausting for her. She got to her room and she fell asleep on the bed.
Jacqueline slowly opened her eyes and she gasped when she saw it was dark already. She picked her phone to check the time and she gasped when she saw it was exactly 9pm. The fuck!! How on earth did she fall into such a deep slumber? That couldn't be categorized as sleeping, she's sure she must have fallen unconscious.
She quickly got out of bed and she went to the bathroom to have her bath. After remembering how Alexander had managed to enter her room while she was having her bath, she quickly bolted out of the room and she picked the clothes she was going to wear. She took them with her to the bathroom. Although, she doubted Alexander would make an appearance in her room since he was busy with another girl. She hoped he would remain busy with her because his presence was maddening for her.
She got out of the bathroom minutes later and she wiped her hair with the hand towel. Jacqueline found it strange that her room had been loaded with a lot of clothes for her to wear. It was like they were bought for her, which she found weird. What was even more weird was that she hadn't come here with any luggage but Penelope didn't ask her anything about it.
Jacqueline picked up one of the lotions and she applied them on her skin. She picked a thin singlet and a black short. She wore them and then she fell on the bed. Surprisingly, she didn't feel hungry.
Her phone beeped and it was a text from an unknown number.
'Come to my room now' the text read.
Jacqueline tried to find out the identity of the person but she couldn't. She wondered if it was Alexander or Chain but then why would Chain text her with an unknown number? And the hell, it wasn't like she was living with him. It had to be Alexander, but how on earth did he get her phone number and if he could get her phone number, what other things had he found out about her?
It might not be Alexander though, she had left him at the hotel with that lady and she wasn't stupid enough to not know what was going to happen between them. She contemplated it for a while and she decided to ignore it.
She left her room and she headed for the kitchen to make dinner. She decided to make Italian spaghetti with meatballs. She turned the cooker on and she began making the food expertly.
40 minutes later she was done with the food and she served the food and then, she took it to her room. She sat on the chair and she placed the food on the table. She began watching movies on her phone as she ate and then, another text came from the same unknown number.
'You're making me wait Jacqueline' the text read and she instantly knew it was Alexander, how the hell did he get her number?
She covered the food and she quickly rushed out of the room, she took the elevator to his room. She prayed he wasn't the one texting her, he's not supposed to be in the mansion though.
She reached the front of his room and she sighed before pushing the alarm button that was on the door. She pushed it several times but just like always, she got no response from him.
She took a deep breath in and then she pushed the door open and she entered his room. She gulped when she met the dark room where little moonlight spilled from the window. She had been to the room several times and so, she was able to detect the location of the light switch in the darkness.
However when she flicked the switch, the light didn't come on. She tried it several times but nothing happened, her heart hitched. She turned to leave but her head made contact with a hard surface. Jacqueline screamed in terror before it finally dawned on her that it was Alexander.
"That was pretty loud, makes me wonder what other sounds I can evoke from you" Alexander said.
Jacqueline held her chest where her heart had gone haywire because of Alexander. Although the room was dark, the moonlight cast a shadow on Alexander, making him look more daunting.
"Why are the lights not working?" Jacqueline asked.
"Because I don't want them to" Alexander replied while staring at her. He could clearly see her trembling like she was scared. Perhaps she was scared of the darkness and him. Well now that she was in the presence of both, her expression was priceless.
"Are you scared of the darkness?" Alexander asked with a sinister smile on his lips and Jacqueline quickly shook her head. It was embarrassing to admit that, she was 25 for fuck sake.
"Why did you ask me to come here? How did you get my number?" Jacqueline asked him warily.
"Makes you wonder how much I know about you, doesn't it?" He asked and Alexander took a step towards her but Jacqueline stood rooted to her spot.
She had learned that running away only fueled his maddening need to chase her and that always ends up with him pinning her to the wall.
"Smart" Alexander commended on seeing she wasn't running away from him like she always did.
Jacqueline gulped, had he found out about her involvement with Chain and everything else?
"Don't worry, I didn't cross my limit" Alexander said as he tucked a piece of hair behind her ear, making her heart hitch.
At that moment, it dawned on her that she was wearing just a thin singlet that showed the outline of her boobs and her black shorts that weren't up to her mid thigh. Her face flushed red in embarrassment but Alexander never looked at her body, his eyes remained fixed on hers. Alexander was different from the other men she had met. The fact that he was so different made it difficult for her to keep hating him and she cursed him for that.
